Great dishwasher that washes and dries well. I like the top thin rack for silverware and cooking utensils. Beware with top rack, not all glasses fit on second rack.

Replace my 12 year-old Bosch with this dishwasher. Incredibly quiet. Cleans dishes well. Great organization / capacity. Very clean look with no manufacturer name on the front, etc. Only negative is sometimes a glass or two will come out still wet because water pooled on top or inside. .

After reading many reviews, we decided on the Bosch 800 series dishwasher. It is incredibly quiet, and the red light reflected on the floor is a good reminder that it's on. The 3rd rack is nice for spatulas and other flat-ish tools, but not much else. We had read some users didn't like the height of the center rack, but that was super-easy to adjust. Cons: Since it doesn't use a heating element to dry, even when using the "sanitize" feature, glasses (around the rim) and food storage containers aren't completely dry, even if they sit overnight. The utensil basket cross-tines are curved, so some random slots are deeper than others, which could have been done better. Overall happy with the dishwasher.

having a terrible time with this dishwasher

It leaves grit and doesn't clean all the plates. The glasses are terribly cloudy. Pots and pans? Forget about it. I have to rinse items and wash items by hand, after they have gone through this dishwasher. I have to inspect items to see that they are clean. I have read the manual, done the troubleshooting, called the local Bosch representative for advice. I have cleaned the food trap, adjusted the settings per the manual. I have added special additive to detergent (at advice of local Bosch rep). Nothing works. Bosch has such a high rating and excellent reputation. I am very unhappy that my Bosch dishwasher is terrible. Can anyone offer help or guidance?

After owning a single Bosch stainless tub dishwasher for 16 years. When it was time to replace it, we chose its contemporary counterpart. A stainless tub guaranteed for the life of the unit. 43db noise rating. Third row top rack. The bottom line, really clean dishes. We got used to not having to rinse stuff before putting them into our Bosch. This new one gets the job done quietly. Still trying to adapt to the new "tyne" positions. Glasses on top rack tend to wobble. Plates load north/south unlike the old Bosch which loaded east/west. We will get used to it. Very satisfied with product as well as Best Buy's professional installation.

    Not Worth It

We upgraded to this unit from an ancient and cheap Roper dishwasher only because we got this on a discount. Even with the discount I'm disappointed. Right off the bat I was worried the 3rd rack would be a waste and I was totally right. It's too shallow to put anything worthwhile inside it and I've yet to pull something out of there and have it be clean. My solution? I took it out. This allowed me to move the center rack to its highest position and still fit tall glasses, leaving more room for bigger things on the bottom rack. Major improvement. I also don't like that the silverware holder can't be put in the front of the bottom rack. I used to be able to quickly pop open the door to add a fork, but not with this washer. You have to drop the door all the way down and pull the bottom rack out to access it. Boo. I thought the folding tines would be helpful--it doesn't make any difference. Marketing gimmick at best. Putting a glass in the far corners of the bottom rack will disappoint you. It will come out dirty on the inside like it was never in there in the first place. This wasn't a problem with my Roper. It's quiet--which is great--but combine that with finicky controls and it'll frustrate you. Several times I've thought I've started a wash cycle only to come back and open it only to find it cold, empty, not running, and that insipid display blinking at me. Oh, and that display? You can't see it with the door closed. So why bother with a timer display? Totally useless unless you want to open the door during the cycle to see the time and get water sprayed all over. In general the user interface is a pain. The "buttons" need to be pressed hard to make a selection. And I don't trust it'll do what it says it'll. The drying function? I've yet to see it dry anything properly. So... comparing my 20 year old Roper to this thing SHOULD be like comparing a 1998 Ford Escort to a 2019 BMW.... and the Escort holds its own quite nicely. I'd keep the Bosch for the quietness and lack of rusted tines, nothing more. Not worth the price, even with 35% off. Not happy with this purchase at all.
