I bought this Bosch 800 series to replace a high-end KitchenAid. The K/A failed at less than 4 years. The LED panel cracked a month out of warranty, and at about 45mo the main pump died. Local repair guy quoted me $800 to repair, and told me to get a Bosch instead, which is what I did. Pro Tip 1 - go on the Bosch website and request a brochure. It includes a very helpful model number breakdown that you can use to determine what year the dishwasher was released, and if it is a first or second generation for that year. This one was a model year behind and Best Buy had a great price on it! The good: This is a very well-made dishwasher. The door and handle make the other brands feel like toys. It is super quiet when running, although it is slightly louder when it drains. Cleaning quality is amazing. It dries well enough I have not had to use the premium drying feature. The 800 series (mine, at least) has a built in water softener salt dispenser, if you have harder water. Unlike the other brands I have used (Kennmore, LG and KitchenAid) the Bosch is completely enclosed, which I think aids in it being so quiet. It remembers your last cycle, so to just repeat is two buttons (power then start). This is really convenient. You cannot see the top controls when the door is closed, but it projects a red dot on the floor while running. A normal cycle with sanitize and heavy scrub takes 2hrs 43min, so more than an hour faster than the K/A. Did I mention how well it cleans? Everything comes out great, and I am not one to pre-rinse (that's the dishwasher's job, right?). Pro Tip 2 - Bosch (at least this unit) has an in-line regulator on the incoming water supply. This is very good, because it protects the dishwasher from over-pressure. It does mean that your existing water supply line probably will need some reducers or special fittings to mate up with the Bosch, and you're going to need room for it behind the dishwasher (roughly 3" wide x 4" long x 2" thick, if I remember correctly). The bad: Google "how to load a Bosch 800 series" and marvel at the responses. After a few weeks I've figured out the best way for my dishes, but the K/A racks are vastly superior. It's like the Bosch racks were designed by someone who thinks all dishes are plates and they've never seen a bowl. This seems smaller in the interior than previous dishwashers. K/A's top rack was large enough for standard glasses at an angle. The Bosch top rack is too shallow for a serving spoon on its side. That being said, this is what I've learned to do: Top rack = silverware (I actually do not use the silverware basket) and serving stuff. Middle rack = cups, glasses, bowls. Bottom rack = plates and cookware. At the end of the day, because of the poor rack design you sometimes ending up needing to do 2 loads for what you could have fit in one K/A. But since the $1200 K/A didn't even last 4 years I'll tolerate having an extra load from time to time. The ugly: Nothing ugly about this dishwasher. What about Best Buy? It would be wrong of me not to mention the great job the Best Buy installation crew did. They were available to install earlier than estimated. They confirmed an appointment window the day before, and let me know when they were about 15min out. They had the old unit removed and the new one installed in a couple of hours, and that included changing the electric and dealing with the odd size water inlet. I waited until this unit had free installation, and with that and the sale, Best Buy really had a very attractive price.

Super quiet and very effective at cleaning dishes. It has internet connectivity to tell you when rinse aid is needed. We do not use the Salt feature as we have a complete whole home water filter and softener system. The way this washer dries dishes without a heating coil is amazing and it works. The only downside is that our cabinet fitting was so tight I could not install the water leak pan under it as the tolerances were too tight.

This dishwasher is a game-changer! We have hard water, so the onboard softener is key. Even when our main water softener runs out of salt, our dishes come out clean because of this awesome machine. Worth every penny. We ordered site to store and it came in quickly; employees helped load it, and away we went!

Great near silent washing unit with dozens of adjustments to handle more cleaning needs than you can imagine. The water line with shut off valve is an innovation but not likely to fit through the previous cabinet opening for water and drain hoses. The included supply line can be too short if your hot water supply valve isn’t on the side of your cabinet adjacent to the dishwasher. This one is probably worth paying for the installation. I don’t know why we need a phone app for dishwashers but it’s there. Upper rack has a lot of utility. Best Buy delivery was as promised. Looking forward to Bosch quality and longevity otherwise.

After 20 or more years our Kitchenaid, though still working, was replaced by a cheap Frigidaire dishwasher. They all looked the same to me, so I opted for a budget unit. It quit working after less than 4 years. Replaced inlet valve, but still wouldn't start. Tossed it to the curb with zero remorse. We now have this gorgeous Bosch 800 series (minus the new "PowerControl"). It's otherwise loaded with features including water softener and "Crystal Dry". Third rack is PERFECT for silverware. The silverware basket will not be used, expanding space for dishes & pans on lower rack, which is configurable, as is middle rack. If you can't find a good location for every dish and utensil, you ain't trying! Wifi connected easily and works great. Tellsyou when load finishes and whether salt is low, among other things. Quiet as can be, and the cleaning results are perfection. Got a "discontinued" price, which is icing on the cake, but I wouldn't care if we paid full price for it. I consider this great bang for the buck even at full price. Highly recommended.

Too many tines and in all the wrong places.

I really wanted to love this dishwasher as it was the last piece of a matching Bosch kitchen... But there is one glaring problem: it has too many tines, too close together, and at funky angles. This setup, I assume, is perfect for a family that uses lots of large plates, but few mugs, bowls, pint-glasses, wine-glasses, etc. Not us. Oh, not just lots of tines but (on the lower rack) almost no horizontal bars either so big bowls don't really fit unless tipped over. The good news is that the upper rack can be lowered and while the tines there are weird, at least I have a place for big coffee mugs, etc. The attached picture is a random snapshot, but basically shows the problem. Upper shelf is packed. Lower shelf is empty because nothing else will fit. This means we now do 2 washes a day whereas we did one previously, which gets me to my next peeve: there is no way of knowing if the dishwasher has run. Most dishwashers have an LED or something to indicate completion whereas this dishwasher just goes silent to indicate completion. This is annoying mistake for an expensive dishwasher. Cleaning efficiency is average. Seems not uncommon to find a stained spoon or something. Note that I do not, in the slightest, wash anything before it goes into the machine, so maybe that is my fault. The good (almost bad!) news is that the dishwasher is amazingly silent. So easy, in fact, for half the family to assume that it has never even been turned on. It has a light shining down to the floor when the dishwasher is active, but my kids seem to always ignore that and open the door anyway. Not really Bosch's fault!!! This gets me to completely irrelevant detail, but still somewhat irritating. If ever you find that you need to cancel a run, then the Bosch instructions say "hold the Cancel button for 5 seconds". There is no Cancel button. Only a "Start/Resume" button... but yes, holding the "Start" button is indeed how to cancel. Now we know. One other problem is likely my fault because I haven't called Best Buy to come and fix it yet, but "Start" doesn't work, at least not by itself. You have to hold the Reset button for 5 seconds and [only] then does the Start button work to initiate the dishwasher cycle. It also seems to get confused if ever the main power supply is turned off, so we always leave it powered on now. The combination of software/electrical issues and high price drops my rating from 5 stars to 4. But not being able to really load up the dishwasher gets me to a 3 - it puts me in a bad mood whenever I load the dishes.

I waited to do my review until I had a really long time to ensure this was the right dishwasher. It was difficult to spend all that money, but I’m certainly glad I did. I have had this for a year and it runs flawlessly. The best feature is the Crystal dry. I can place any object anywhere and don’t have to worry about plastic items melting! Bosch has an amazing reputation and certainly continues to live up to their name. Highly recommend.

One of the best dishwashers we have ever owned. Luv the crystal dry feature even the plastics are bone dry ! My only nit picky issue is the flat surface buttons and the wait time to reset if it’s not in correct cycle by user error.

It's probably too soon to write a review. We've had the dishwasher for almost a month but haven't been able to use it yet. When you buy a top-of-the-line dishwasher, you expect it won't be broken when it arrives. Everything seemed fine until we put rinse aid in the dispenser, and it came out the bottom as fast as we put it in. Turns out it is cracked. Not surprised, it looks like cheap plastic. The trouble now is that the repair guy couldn't come for a couple weeks and now we have to wait for a new dispenser to come. We will not even be able to use the dishwasher but the time on the warranty is ticking away. I probably wouldn't be so negative if we hadn't chosen such a pricey model. I guess price does not equal quality.

Worked great for almost 2 months, then today after running it, I found a large piece of it sitting on the bottom rack (see pic). It’s ridiculous for an appliance of this price and supposed quality to have a part like that break of during a wash cycle. Loaded it with standard dishes, bowls and silverware. Gonna have to contact Best Buy to hopefully fix it. Will probably return it and buy another brand. If this happened so soon after purchase, I don’t think I want to keep it because who knows what will happen further down the line. When it did work, it was the best dishwasher I’ve ever owned. Now, it’s useless.

My wife loves We replaced a KitchenAid with this Bosch. It looks nice! It matches the Bosch 500 Series fridge, and the Bosch 800 range which we purchased at the same time. The exterior handle is better than the recessed handle model that costs a bit less. It does a nice job of cleaning the dishes. It is super quiet. It's reasonably good quality. Not as good as the KitchenAid we replaced with more rugged, stainless drawer slides (which we paid extra for on the KitchenAid). It has 3 drawers, the top drawer is designed to mainly hold silverware. The KitchenAid top drawer was designed a bit better. The Bosch top drawer works well if you have the patience to put all the silverware neatly into the slots. But I don't, and neither does my wife. So, she/we use the silverware buckets instead. It was more complex to install.

After years of buying dishwashers that fail after a couple of years, I decided to take the advise of others and purchase a Bosch. We love this smart dishwasher. It has plenty of features, including a salt tank to improve the wash and leave everything spot free. I also use the remote start feature and delay start to help with the electric bill. However, the best feature is how quiet it is. It's nearly silent as it cleans my dirty dishes. I installed it myself, which was straight-forward with easy to follow instructions. Of course, I only glanced at the instructions but the seemed to be easy to follow.
