But I put a string to hold up the cable when I pushed the dishwasher in. It kept the cable from getting in the way.

However, if you don't have an electrical outlet available and need to perform a hardwire installation, you can purchase the Powercord with Junction Box kit as an accessory. The DW is phenomenal so I have no reason to believe that the junction box is of the same standard.
