Needed new wall speakers for bedroom surround after moving furniture around, these Bose speakers were a great fit and great price for the set and with ALL Bose speakers always sound GREAT! I have them in a 13'x17' master bedroom and the sound just as good with my home theater receiver as my living room. Great overall sound and Bose quality for a surprising low cost for Bose. Highly recommend for any home theater system that needs separate speakers.

For you audiophiles out there consider this budget friendly speaker set! The nuances of your music can trully be heard but the key to success is pairing these with a good amp and a good sub. I used my Sonos connect amp and bought a Polk sub to round out the base and just like that music nirvana! The created rig completes an open loft in my house with rich sound and meshes with the other Sonos speakers I have throughout my house.

When used alone, these are good speakers for a small area. They lack ideal base range, but that can be compensated for by an equalizer if your receiver is so equipped.

We purchased these as the second set for our surround system. We had a pair for the front and were using another brand for the back from our original system. What a difference! The balance with the same four Bose speakers a Bose center and subwoofer running through a Yamaha is amazing. Crisp, clear, deep.

There are better Bose, but for the money and space I have, these 161 sound great. I'm using them as rear speakers for my surround sound, with 2 boxed Bose speakers in the front ( I've had for over 35 years) and a Bose center channel. The highs and lows are so good, that at times I think I'm hearing something outside. Very pleased.

Great sound for small size speakers that handle up to 100 watts that don't take up too much room. They can sit on a shelf or table top or they can be mounted on a wall. Simple two tab connection in back.

I purchased these to be used as the rear surround speakers in my home theater. I like the fact that the speakers are wall mountable and come with brackets to do so. Sound quality is excellent and these are definitely a huge step up in quality from the old pair they have replaced. I am very happy with this purchase.

Needed to streamline the look of my surround sound system so picked up a pair of 161s to replace the 301s I had as front channel and to match my 161 rears. I thought I was going to give up a lot of sound, I was wrong. Movies and music sound great and they aren't too ridiculous looking up on the wall.

Needed new left and right speakers for 5.1 denon system. Replaced old pioneer TIB speakers and the difference is profound. I am hard of hearing but feel these speakers are the answer. Price like everything Bose makes is to high but all things being equal, I don't think I could have got any better.

I have purchase Bose for the normal (superb) sound and I have not been disappointed! Would have been welcome if Bose would have provide at least 25 feet of speaker wire as this was an additional purchase and cost from retailer.
