I got this along with the Sound Touch 300 sound bar. I did a separate review on the sound bar, so this will just be what this bass module adds to the whole package. This definitely adds some good low end to the whole listening experience. I put in some action movies with lots of explosions and low end and this thing delivered as expected. It really filled out the low end of the audio spectrum that the sound bar simply couldn't produce. Another thing I was surprised by was how much I could not only hear the low end, but feel it as well. I have owned a lot of other stereo systems that had subwoofers...but I never was able to really feel the bass before. This adds a whole new dimension to watching action movies when you can actually feel the explosions, or during a horror film when there is a loud noise meant to scare you...you can actually feel it through your whole body. I have the sub sitting right by my couch and it feels as though the whole couch vibrates. I don't know how they do it...but I like it! The setup couldn't be easier. Just plug it in, push 2 buttons on the remote and it connected to the sound bar in less than a minute. Then just re-run the calibration, and you are good to go! If I had one complaint, its that there isn't a level control for the bass. You are just stuck with whatever pre-determined amount of bass the calibration determines you need. I know there are cheats and ways around this during the calibration setup...but it would be nice to just have a dial on the sub itself or something on the remote to add a little more punch if you want to. Overall, this is a beautifully designed, well made product that delivers the low end. Definitely a bit on the pricey side...but it does deliver what it says it will...and a little bit more!
