I’ve recently been watching a lot of concerts on YouTube with my Soundbar 900 and the sound has been adequate. However, I’ve come across a few where the kick drum lacks weight and sounds mid heavy. I was looking for a sub to add a little contour and body to the already excellent soundbar. I read about and watched comparisons between the 500 and 700 bass modules. Aside from the high price, the 700 weighs thirty pounds, which is ridiculous for my room. I don’t care if you can dial the bass in. I realized that I was going to get the 500 because of the price, weight and size. I got the 500 “good” condition open box. It has some definite signs of wear, but when I added it through the Bose app and re-ran Adaptiq, it was near perfect. It doesn’t produce a huge amount of bass unless you’re watching Atmos Movies. It’s great for music as well. Id like it to be a little tighter, as it can sound a bit mushy and late on kick drum hits. However, the SB 900 does a good job of hitting those punchy parts, while the bass module really fills out the sound without making it sound muddy. It’s great for my purposes, just don’t expect window rattling bass.

The Bose Bass Module 500 Wireless Subwoofer is an excellent addition to any home audio setup. Its compact design, powerful bass performance, wireless connectivity, and seamless integration with other Bose sound systems make it a compelling choice for those seeking enhanced audio experiences. While it may not be the most budget-friendly option, its quality and reliability make it a worthwhile investment for audio enthusiasts.

I recently added the Bass Module 500 to my audio setup, and it’s been an absolute game-changer. This compact powerhouse delivers incredible bass that brings music and movies to life like never before. The impact is both thunderous and precise, making every beat and explosion resonate with a deep, rich vibrancy. The setup process was a breeze, and the wireless connection seamlessly integrated with my existing sound system. The Bass Module 500 complements my other speakers beautifully, creating a full, immersive audio experience. It’s not just about hearing the bass; you can feel it, which adds a whole new dimension to the entertainment. The build quality is top-notch, and the design is sleek and modern. The Bass Module 500 doesn’t just sound great; it looks great too. The remote control is user-friendly, allowing me to fine-tune the bass to my preference with ease. Whether you’re a music enthusiast or a movie buff, the Bass Module 500 is a must-have. It elevates the entire audio experience, making you feel like you’re in the middle of the action. I can’t recommend it enough. If you want to take your audio setup to the next level, the Bass Module 500 is the way to go. It’s worth every penny, and I couldn’t be happier with my purchase!

    Best Mid Tier Bass Module

This Bose bass module is the lower of the two out. I didn't feel the need to get the larger one due to size and the soundbar I chose was the middle tier Bose Smart Soundbar. It clearly does the job and than some. I don't need to even put it to max settings to get the beats pumping loud and clear. Heavy footsteps, explosions, you name it this can handle it no problem.

    Deep Rich Bass

Hi am using this with the bows 500 sound bar and wow old do they make up hair. Clothes that you adjust the equalizer in an app on your phone see you can turn the bass up and down as you like as well as the volume and I have to say for this thing and I know it’s close but it is incredible. I am a particular person where it comes to using my audio quality and this far surpasses any sub woofer I have ever used in the past which is quite a few. I honestly cannot see the reason for someone to not purchase both of these together.

I purchased this along with the smart soundbsr 900 and the satelite speakera for a total of $1400, which i consider at the tol end of mine - and i wojld think a lot of people’s budgets. And wiile the soundbar itself sounds amazing, the bass from this little box has a good sound, but doesnt ‘bump’ by any means. Im saying as someone who lives in an apartment and is concerned with noise levels - this unit just doesnt have any power behind the sound. So i returned this one and upgraded to the 700 bass module and i am 100% happy with the decision - i cannot beleive i paid as much as i did to do so, but with the total cost for the system coming in at just under $2k I am now happy with my purchase and the sound is mindblowing from the 700 bass module.

The bose soundbar 600 was lacking the bass and this thing is powerful enough to rumble the whole room. Very easy connectivity and setup processthrough the Bose music app.It might be just me but I think it does provide more vocal clarity once added to the sb600 for some reason.

Bought this to go with the Bose 600 soundbar to replace my 5.1 component system since I downsized. The subwoofer does add more spatial imaging, depth and range to the 600. Good for smaller rooms, apartments and my townhome. Big room, no neighbors attached, want thundering lows…get a bigger sub. The speaker itself is small, so don’t expect thundering room shaking low end. Unit is more like a full range driver in a Bose designed enclosure. Has a tight lower end. Streamed music through the 600 bar is greatly improved with the sub. Very small footprint so it fits anywhere. Can only control the sub volume through the Bose app which means you have to always have your phone handy.

This is a great little sub for the price. I have an office space that I use as a secondary entertainment location in the house, mostly for news, background music, and short-term TV viewing, so I wasn't looking for earth shaking or a bank-breaking acoustic system (for this particular space). That said, I was seeking a sub that has a reputation for quality, as well as easy connectivity, at a reasonable price. If those are your parameters, then you're in luck. This sub is for you. I matched this sub with a 300 Bose soundbar. The combo is perfect for my office space. I would go out on a limb and say that it would likely be great for apartments, condos, and smaller rooms. The sub connects through the bose app and has good versatility for customizing the sound you want. For such a small box, it generates full, deep, punchy bass. I can turn it up and don't hear any distortion and it doesn't seem like the sub is struggling either. Again, put that in the context of a physically small sub. This sub will be plenty for most rooms less than 15'x15' especially if you strategically place it in a corner of the room. The only reason I am giving this review a 4-star rating instead of a 5-star rating is because I struggled to get the sub (Bluetooth) connected to the soundbar and TV. It should be easier and more consistent.

The Bose soundbar is a nice speaker to have in a small living room or bedroom. Fills the room with just enough sound. The subwoofer provides that much needed bass for the speaker. Installation wasn't too difficult. Just follow the steps via the app. I chose to go the wireless route. Sounds fine to me. I haven't had any issues yet. I did purchase the surround speakers as well, and everything compliments each other nicely.

Added this to complete the sound quality of soundbar 900. Small and easy to install compare to my old AM10. Provides both wired and wireless but wireless works good too and is clean with no need for the sub to be next to sound bar

I like this bass module, it packs a decent punch but the wireless connecting is poor and results in popping nosies as other reviewers have mentioned. The easy fix is to just get the $10 cable that Bose makes, (sold separately of course). For the price it's fine but the wireless connection issues really is a drag.
