The magic ingredient for movie theater experience

The Bose Bass Module 500 is the perfect companion to the Bose Soundbar 500. The subwoofer is the magic ingredient that allows the soundbar to produce that movie theater ambiance where you can feel the low rumble of a thunderstorm or the thumping approach of a dinosaur.
Although compact in size, at loud settings it has enough oomph to annoy neighbors but at normal settings it offers deep and smooth bass that is not overpowering. Music generally sounds great although I think the bass produced is better suited for movies than some genres of music. It has a kind of boomy quality instead of being tight so it does really well for low rumble effects. The bass also seems more noticeable to me when playing music compared to watching movies where it can sometimes be subtle.
Adding the subwoofer to the soundbar was easy. To do this, I plugged the subwoofer to an AC outlet and used the Bose Music App to add it to the soundbar. It detected the Bass Module 500 Subwoofer and I was able to easily paired it with the soundbar. I like that it is wireless so it can be placed at any convenient location rather than be tied to the soundbar. I have it placed next to my sofa.
After pairing, the app reported that I had a Bass Module 700 instead of the Bass Module 500. That’s weird. I tried to redo everything by removing all accessory speakers and attempted to add the Bass Module 500 again but the same thing happened. The app keeps reporting that I have a Bass Module 700 after pairing. It probably doesn’t make much difference but I was worried that it might not calibrate the system correctly if it thought I had the more powerful 700 instead of the 500 paired to the soundbar. The app does allow you to adjust the bass level to suit your taste.
Overall the Bose Soundbar 500 and Bose Bass Module 500 is a great home theater sound system for those who do not have the space for a true 5.1 surround sound setup. It is able to produce crystal clear audio with exceptional voice clarity along with the muscle to produce room thumping bass and the low rumble ambiance of a movie theater.

The Bose subwoofer is a great companion to the Bose soundbar 500. This adds the extra lows that completes the soundbar, to give you a great home theater experience.
The subwoofer has a premium look and feel to it, all while making it small enough as to not take up much space. It also matches the soundbar really well, in terms of design.
The set up is very simple and straight forward. Once you get your soundbar set up through the Bose music app, it prompts you to add more devices. Simple push the button on the bottom of the subwoofer, and voila, connected.
The bass is very clean. It maintains good lows, without distorting or bottoming out. Weather you're listening to music, or watching a movie, the subwoofer provides that extra level of bass that completes the experience.
The subwoofer makes for the perfect companion to the Bose soundbar 500, which I highly recommend getting the two together. This really adds the complete package to a home theater.

Big Boom

I love the boom and power the Bose Bass Module 500 puts out. I use the Module in conjunction with the Bose Soundbar. These two items together release pure sound quality. At times, when I’m in my shower and I can clearly hear the bass coming through my home. One of my favorite things to do is watch movies in the comfort of my home. The Bass Module 500 gives my movies a surround sound effect. The power is so great, I can feel like I’m in the theater if I want to. When I connect the Bose sound-bar to my Alexa App to play all my favorite music stations, The Bose Bass Module perfects the sound and projects quality boom. The Bluetooth feature is great, as it works with many of my other Bluetooth compatible items like my iPhone. The set up was simple. You use there Bose App and it takes you through the process step by step. I do wish the electrical cords were a little longer. I had to use an extension cod in order to hide my Module behind my chair. It does fit perfectly and very discreetly behind my chair. This is a perfect give for anyone who loves Home entertainement. It’s not bulky and it’s the perfect addition to any soundbar.

I have the Bose Smart Ultra soundbar and a pair of Bose surround sound speakers, so this subwoofer was an obvious purchase. I live in an apartment and want bass that you notice, but which doesn't rattle the windows or annoy the neighbors. The Bass Module 500 is perfect for my needs. I had no trouble with the wireless connection, and had it up and thumping in under five minutes. All in all, an excellent purchase, especially if the rest of your sound system is Bose.

So I recently got a Bose soundbar 600(amazing atmos) and that soundbar doesn’t come with a subwoofer unfortunately. So I decided to see what this nice little sun would add to the overall great sound. And I have to say, that this little subwoofer that is actually quite light was amazing for its size. Great low frequency response deep and clean bass all the way around. I originally got this as an open box for a more reasonable price. And at first the bass wasn’t accurate and sounded off like something might have been wrong. But I know that you sometimes have to “burn in” certain speakers and subwoofers as well. This is normal. So I decided to give it a day and yes it loosened up and became super accurate with movies, tv Shows and music as well. I do recommend this if you want to take full advantage of your nice new Bose soundbar. Just know it’s pricey. But like many know it’s still worth it for sure.

A lot of reviewers complain about this bass module, but I'm not sure why. It has plenty of depth in my medium sized TV/Media room. It pairs well with the Bose 600 and surrounds, providing the fill-in that was hard to get from the soundbar alone. I also like the "tone" it produces. I would buy it again. BTW, the module adjusts easily in the Bose app and I wonder if not knowing how to use the app is what generates all the complaints.

I bought the Bose 900 soundbar and although it sounded fantastic on its own I decided I still wanted a little more oomph. Because of the price of the 700 bass module and I didn't really need that much power I decided on the 500. It's fantastic. Provides plenty of bass without being obnoxious about it. To me it works excellent as a companion to the 900 soundbar. Highly recommend.

I’ve recently been watching a lot of concerts on YouTube with my Soundbar 900 and the sound has been adequate. However, I’ve come across a few where the kick drum lacks weight and sounds mid heavy. I was looking for a sub to add a little contour and body to the already excellent soundbar. I read about and watched comparisons between the 500 and 700 bass modules. Aside from the high price, the 700 weighs thirty pounds, which is ridiculous for my room. I don’t care if you can dial the bass in. I realized that I was going to get the 500 because of the price, weight and size. I got the 500 “good” condition open box. It has some definite signs of wear, but when I added it through the Bose app and re-ran Adaptiq, it was near perfect. It doesn’t produce a huge amount of bass unless you’re watching Atmos Movies. It’s great for music as well. Id like it to be a little tighter, as it can sound a bit mushy and late on kick drum hits. However, the SB 900 does a good job of hitting those punchy parts, while the bass module really fills out the sound without making it sound muddy. It’s great for my purposes, just don’t expect window rattling bass.

I purchased this to compliment my Bose Smart Soundbar 300. This is definitely a must have as it completes the sound system to give you that theater feel! This coupled with my 300 really makes it a joy to watch movies! I upgrade from a Vizio soundbar that I had. The previous soundbar was horrible as the voices would be muddled up and you couldn't hear what was being said. This gives you that big punchy base that rumbles your floor and hits you in the chest, but does not take away from voice clarity when watching movies and/or listening to music.
The set up is very easy and syncs up easily to your soundbar. It is all done through the Bose app.
It feels well made and looks very nice and will compliment your entertainment center.

Hi am using this with the bows 500 sound bar and wow old do they make up hair. Clothes that you adjust the equalizer in an app on your phone see you can turn the bass up and down as you like as well as the volume and I have to say for this thing and I know it’s close but it is incredible. I am a particular person where it comes to using my audio quality and this far surpasses any sub woofer I have ever used in the past which is quite a few. I honestly cannot see the reason for someone to not purchase both of these together.
