Look elsewhere if you are looking for a sub that will give you Bass that is noticable. I paired with Bose soundbar and and it is not very inmpressive. A little boost, but definitely not worth the price. I guess the price is for the brand.

First, I would like to recommend that if you are interested in this Bass Module that you pair it with the excellent Bose Soundbar 700. It is a match made in heaven that delivers high-fidelity sound in any application. This review was written with perspective on the entire Bose 700 system (Soundbar 700 & Bass Module 700). Music is my life. I’ve been a musician for over 40 years and through that time I have developed a trained ear when it comes to sound. Up until now, I have always had components and separate speakers for surround. Enter the Bose 700 system. This Bass Module coupled with the excellent Bose 700 Soundbar, has made me rethink what is needed to achieve a fantastic result. So much, that I have dis-assembled my entire “man cave” surround stereo setup in favor of this simple, but elegant Bose system. What was once a receiver controlling all of my components, center channel, two main speakers, and two rear surround speakers, has simply become this two piece setup. Being clutter free and having less is more is important to us these days, as we have a one year old that can easily knock over speaker stands and much, much more. The sub and soundbar are crafted extremely well and are very solid in terms of hardware feel. They are both made of aluminum and have a black glass top which makes them super stout and easy to keep clean. The soundbar is about 38.5 inches wide and the sub is roughly a 12” cube in size. Both items blend in with any decor and look so good that you’ll want them to be seen. The remote is also very nice and with the Bose Music app you’ll have your Smart TV, Blu Ray, PS4, XBox, etc., all configured and working from this single remote in no time. A note on the Bose Music app / Alexa… Some reviewers have stated that the app needs a lot of work and that they can’t get it to work properly with any of their components and/or Alexa (more on Alexa later). I am not sure if recent updates have now solved the issues others have reported, but I have found this to be no issue whatsoever. I had Alexa, my Samsung TV, PS4, and SONY Blu Ray player all recognized and set up within minutes of downloading the app. FWIW, I am using a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 with Android 8.0 Setting up your system… This system is ARC ready and will control all of your HDMI devices with ease. A quick web search will tell you everything you need to know about ARC and its benefits. When setting up your room, I highly recommend using the ADAPTIQ audio calibration system tool (provided in package) to “tune” your room. Every room is a different size and provides seating in different areas, making this step an important step in your setup. Once your room is tuned, everyone will enjoy great sound from any seat in the room. It is actually crazy how this two piece system can mimic an entire surround system so effectively. This is yet another reason why I was okay with getting rid of so many speakers to go down to this small system. The ever important sound quality... Being a new Bose product, I was expecting it to sound good, but not as good as it really does. Once properly configured, I was shocked at the clear crisp sound this combo was producing. The first thing I did was load up an HD title to test. The voice channel is superbly clear and punctual. The mains are full and have the perfect amount of depth. The sub connects to the soundbar wirelessly and provides the exact amount of bass needed to produce a cinema like experience. Whether watching a Superhero movie, listening to music, or getting a quick weather forecast from Alexa, you will be satisfied with the Bose 700 system. In the case of the Bose 700 system, size certainly does not matter. Long gone are the days of 15” main speakers. Through brainiac engineering and technological innovation, these days you can get impressive results from a much smaller footprint. Alexa… To be honest, this was not a big reason for me choosing this product, but now that I have it and have used it, I am not sure how I ever lived without it. We have been invited to upgrade our homes into smart homes more and more lately and I am slowly understanding why. Ease of use and quickness in our fast paced society is the bottom line with the way tech is trending. Being an Alexa noob, I am still scratching the surface of what it can offer, but I can see how huge the potential is. A good example of what I did once I had her all setup, was to simply try and ask her something, anything. I chose what came to mind first and said, “Alexa, play Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd.” Well guess what! She did it without fail, repeating / confirming to me, “Playing Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd on Amazon Music.” Hahaha, so awesome. I dialed up some Rolling Stones, some kids music, whatever I asked for, she found it. I even tried saying, “Alexa, turn volume up five” and she did that too. If you get the chance to mess with this, or if you are buying this system because of the fact that it is Alexa ready, you won’t be disappointed. If your store has this on demo, do yourself a favor and give that button a press. I can’t recommend this product enough.

    Awesome Bass Module!

Bose Bass module 700 is a perfect companion for Bose Soundbar 700. Similar to the Soundbar, this bass module comes in a very sturdy box and has the same tempered glass top. Bass module is heavy so watch your back when you pick it up. The size is perfect and it easily blended in my living room with other electronics and furniture items. The product has a nice clean seamless look and the connections are on the back at the bottom. I have also added pictures to give readers an idea of the size of bass module. In the box you will also find power cord and instruction/safety booklet. Setup & Sound: Bose bass module 700 is easy to set up using the Bose music App. Once you connect the bass module to the power supply and place it at your desired location, you add the bass module as an accessory to your Soundbar in the Bose music app. That is it. The Soundbar and Bass module are wirelessly connected. A quick calibration using AdaptIQ can further improve the sound experience. Once connected, the Bass module produces chest thumping bass to give a fuller effect to the sound. I did not experience any lag/skipping between Soundbar and bass module as I used it for movies, music and even cartoons :-) . Another feature of the Bose music app is that you can increase/decreases the bass through the app to suit it to your needs. This bass module can definitely shake your floor during a Boeing take off, or will make your popcorn's fly away during those scary movie nights. Overall, an amazing product and a perfect Soundbar companion. A must buy!

Bose has gone to a modular setup with their systems; meaning every piece is purchased separately, which allows you to build your system the way you want to. This was an upgrade from a Lifestyle v30 (still in love w/madly). Setup is no longer accomplished through on screen, but through their Bose Music App. We went with the add-on 700 series sub to match the soundbar. Setup/Add-on was a breeze, literally open the app, go the soundbar Settings, Accessory Speakers. From their it searches for and adds the add-on module almost immediately. Longest part is deciding where to put it as you are wire free, but need power. Unboxing is fast, open the top, grab the two-handles and lift the unit right out, slide off rest of packaging and done. Pros: Very fast and easy setup, NO WIRES except for power, sound matches and exceeds the Lifestyle v30 we had. The base put out is strong as is and can be adjust for even stronger base, we let the system decide as it can be heard through our tri-level home comfortably. Cons: Cost will set you back, but remember you are buying a Bose product that lasts. We did have to contact Bose Customer Service in which we identified something overlooked. When the sub is adding itself through the app it shows up as a 700 series, but once added shows as a 500 series—APP ERROR—this will be fixed in the next upgrade.

Build quality of this system is excellent. It sounds great too but is higher in cost compared to some competitors. Solid and large in size, looks good in the room, the glass on top feels premium. Aesthetically pleasing design. We use a single module paired to the Bose 900 sound bar. The module sits close to the Center of a room sized 18ft x 30ft that has open space to the sides. The sound quality is great. Easily powerful enough to have a somewhat balanced sounding bass through out the room if listening to music and can deliver a decent explosion rumble when watching a movie. Simple to set up with no issues. It's been in constant use the past month. I would recommend it to a friend.

The Bose subwoofer is the perfect companion for my Bose soundbar. Pairing them together completely transforms movies and gaming—the lows hit deep without being overpowering, adding a richness and presence that the soundbar alone can’t match. Explosions, bass drops, and even subtle environmental sounds feel alive, making every scene or game more immersive. Setup was simple, and the sub blends in seamlessly without being obtrusive. Together with the soundbar, it’s a balanced, high-quality audio experience that feels like a home theater without all the bulky equipment. If you want to take your movies and gaming to the next level, this subwoofer is absolutely worth it

This bass is really nice. Its kinda heavy for the size of it, wasnt expecting it to be so heavy. Apart from that its a really nice bass box. I have been looking for a bass that makes you feel that deep hit...this is it. Excellent quality from bose. Now i must admit, i do beleive it is a bit over priced, but that has always been any bose items throughout the years.

    Excellent Addition to Soundbar

I got the Bose base module to augment the Bose 700 Soundbar. It was a great addition for the immersive feeling that I was going for with my home entertainment system. The base adds a nice kick that makes the audio match the intensity of the visuals while I'm watching a movie or playing a video game. This product performed well in all the audio demands that I had, rock music, classical music, movies, video games. The classical music was interesting because the module replicated the base so well that when the foot pedal is used on songs that have a lot of piano in it I could feel the vibrations travel through the floor in a way that I would expect from live piano performances. I have had the opportunity to have a friend play the piano for me live and it was pretty close to replicating that experience. I am definitely stunned at how well it replicated a personal piano performance. Overall this product is great, it just lacks the boom for hip hop music in my opinion. My brother pointed this out to me because he came to check it out and he enjoys that music. This does not bother me because I do not like hip hop music but I think it is important to add in a product review.

If you are reading this, trying to decide if the sub is worth it; the answer is yes. Simply put it delivers where it should, providing deep wall shaking bass. The setup was easy. After unboxing the surprisingly heavy sub, it paired to the soundbar via the app in a matter of seconds. The glass top matches the aesthetics of the soundbar, which means it attracts fingerprints and dust. Besides a refined glass top, the enclosure is made of plastic and metal with rubber feet that prevent the large black cube from vibrating across your floors. The dimensions are 12.9 “ H X 11.6” W X 11.6” D, which is a little large but Bose offers a smaller sub for those who wish to sacrifice performance for space. Speaking of performance, the 700 delivers. Response is fantastic and the bass is punchy yet deep and distortion free. My only gripe is I wish Bose offered bass control independent of the soundbar. Sometimes I found myself wanting the bass to be fuller on the soundbar but turning it up too far caused the subwoofer to be overactive for some content. Most people won’t need this level of control and will find the preset EQ to be satisfactory. If you own the Soundbar 700, this is a must buy.

First off, this subwoofer sounds fantastic. If the rating was only based on sound it would get 5 stars. It's not gonna blow your windows out with booming bass like the Sonos, but it pairs perfectly with a larger Bose sound bar by filling in the bottom end without overwhelming the mids and highs. It really makes the sound much fuller and has plenty of oomph for enjoying music too. It's 4 star rating is only because of the price. The value isn't there. I could argue that it's competitor, the Sonos, is also overpriced but that's irrelevant. This lil sub punches above it's size but punches below it's MSRP.

So I started looking for a surround sound system just about a year ago. I had ordered 3 different systems over a few months from Amazon. I tried a decent Vizio set up, Samsung, and Nakamichi. Each of them had some hiccup in the sound quality or connectivity between devices so I returned them and then forgot about doing surround sound over the year with travel plans and summer etc. Came into a bonus of cash from work back in November 2023 and decided to try again with the surround sound system. I ordered a Sony surround sound system based off a recommendation from a Best Buy employee, and while it was much better than the 3 others I tried through Amazon, it disconnected audio while watching Disney+ and it made a huge surge in noise one evening without any of us doing anything on the soundbar or apps connected, so I decided to return it. I was scoping out this Bose System package prior to returning the Sony system, and I got a chance to listen to the Bose soundbar at Best Buy in SLC and it sounded amazing, so I decided to pay the higher price tag for it. I got the Bose - Smart Ultra Soundbar with Dolby Atmos and Voice Assistant - Black and Bose - Surround Speakers 700 120-Watt Wireless Satellite Bookshelf Speakers (Pair) - Black and the Bose - Bass Module 700 Wireless Subwoofer - Black. I'm going to leave this review on all 3 items because they pair so well together. The soundbar is so crisp, the app is amazing for adjustments, and the subwoofer really hits all levels of bass as you go down and packs a punch for how small it is. Fits super nicely between my two couches at home. I read reviews saying to muffle the surround sound speakers so I did that when doing the adaptIQ part of the process and the complaints of the other reviewers saying the two small boxes were too quiet have been proved wrong in my opinion, because baby, these things sound amazing! Best purchase decision of my life, it is audio bliss. I did have to watch a couple of YouTube videos to figure out how to connect the surround sound speakers, but other than than that, this is by far the best I've found in my exploration of surround sound systems! Thanks Bose and Best Buy!

    My Favorite Sub!

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Through the years I have owned many types of home theatre systems. I have forked out way too much money for very large sub woofers which have shook the entire neighborhood. I have also tried what audiophiles claim to be the best compact subs which have left me wanting. To me, the Bose Bass Module 700 finds a near perfect balance. It is hard-hitting and accurate and generally has a high-end pleasant sound to it. Yet, it is small and elegant that looks amazing in our space. We’ve paired the Bass Module 700 wirelessly with our new Bose Soundbar 700. We were not discontent with the bass from the sound bar alone, but do find the experience enhanced with the added module. There is not an immediate jaw dropping difference. Instead, the enhancements are more subtle. The bass hits harder with virtually no distortion nor annoying resonance. The mids and highs also become more crisp making the system more enjoyable with better dynamics. In the end, the Bose Bass Module 700 is not the best sounding sub I have ever owned but it is my favorite. It just has a near perfect balance between performance and design. Thank you Bose!
