As I said in my last survey, I waited a huge amount of time until I could speak to one of your staff, and then he was inexperienced and could not answer any of my questions about the speaker you carry. If I had it to do over again, I would have purchased the Klipsch set you had on sale that week for $30.00 more than I paid for the Bose set.

I was conflicted between the Logitech Z625 2.1 and Bose Companion 2 series iii. After much research and reading reviews I first purchased the Z625 and promptly returned them the next day. The sound clarity was pretty poor and the Bass was just punchy rather than creating a good consistently sound through out a song. The bose Companion 2 series iii I was skeptical but traded in for these and they are keepers! The clarity is great, the bass is consistent and altho not going to knock you off your chair it adds a great dynamic and is perfect for me personally. I use these primarily for gaming when i'm not using headphones and they sound a million times better when playing Forza Horizon 4, for example. If you need to have a dance party in your living room these won't do the trick, if you need to rock around while cleaning or dance by yourself these are perfect! If you need to get really into your game and don't use headphones these will immerse you! I should also say i'm an amateur audiophile who is not a big fan of punchy bass. These are set up at my work/play computer in my bedroom and it fills the space quite easily and overall I would 100% suggest these over any other speaker at this current price point. My dance party speakers are Klipsch The Sixes - Amazing speakers for parties and big sound as an added recommendation.

These speakers produce very good sound with easy set-up and minimal clutter. There is no separate bass component, yet the bass produced by the two speakers is quite good. System set up is easy, with the right hand unit acting as the control with just three connections: one to the computer, one to the left hand unit, and one to a power source. Set the computer volume setting at 75% and use the speaker volume control to increase or decrease volume as desired. Sound range and quality is good with minimal distortion even at high volume levels. Price point is above competitors, but is justified given quality level and excellent customer service from Bose. Excellent web site service, and the ability to register product warranty on line stand out. Three small issues are annoying. There is no power light on the control unit, so it is easy to forget to turn off power when not in use. Also, there is no color differentiation on the volume knob, just a groove indicator, which makes it difficult to see where on the volume arc you are. Finally, the left hand speaker is hard wired, not a plug-in connection, meaning you have to be alert not to pull on the wire and degrade the connection.

Bose is known for expensive gear, so for $99, I would say these speakers give you the most sound for the money. Frankly I am astonished Bose could produce a $99 speaker that sounds so good, in view of their expensive speaker lineup. A bit of background - I currently own the Bose Companion 3 series II, the Soundlink II and the previous version of Companion 2, the Series II. The Series III has better base than the Series II, and slightly better treble, but the Series II has better midrage. Both the Series II and Series III blows the Soundlink II (bluetooth speaker) out of the water. There is simply no comparison. The Series II is good for vocals, Jazz, Classical and the like. The Series III improves on this and sounds better on rock, pop and music with more bass. Of course none of these speakers can compare to the Bose Companion 3. The dedicated sub-woofer of the Companion 3 is orders of magnitude better in bass response, and the two satellite speakers has better high end as well. Design wise it is very similar to the Series II with the same ports and controls, except it is now in black - which is good because it matches more laptops/PCs. The previous silver version is good but does look a bit out of place on an all black setup (I have black monitor, black laptop and black mouse). The speaker cable length is just nice, as I do not want too long a cable length to clutter my desktop. Bose is designing this setup for laptops, not so much for desktop PCs. Overall excellent product from Bose, and definitely well worth the $99!

I've long been searching for decent computer speakers that don't require a whole subwoofer setup. Frankly, I don't need all that on my desk, but I wanted speakers that were good enough to be considered "reference-level" and for me, that's these. They're an amazing value for how good they sound. The bass is strong and the highs are tight...if you have used other Bose products, this sound won't disappoint. I even love that there's an easy-to-reach volume knob. As anyone with a Macbook Pro hooked to an external monitor knows, the volume ends up as "fixed" and that knob is the best way to adjust the volume level. These sound great at every volume level...and honestly, they can get TOO loud at full-volume. These have been perfect for video editing and commercial production. Wish I had found them sooner.

These speakers have great sound and bass for the price. I read the reviews and knew that this product was going to be good but these blew my expectations out of the water. That's Bose for you. It took me less than 5 minutes to set up out of the box and my computer recognized the speakers without a problem. Easy one knob design with 3.5 jack in right speaker. Small, foldable power block (YES!). I like the black finish over the modern silver(Companion 2 series ii), matches my rig. I have a pretty big room (15x15) and these do an amazing job of filling it up. Speakers are a little light but still has a nice heft to them (Always wanted to use that word). Cables are a little short, some might need audio cable extenders. Besides those small cons, these are easily one of the best speakers you can get for the sub $100 level.

I Purchased these to replace my computer speakers. My previous speakers still work well and they include a powered woofer. I swapped them out because WIRES EVERYWHERE, I hate wires. The Bose sound quality is fantastic as anticipated. They crisp sound stays present even at full blast. They get very loud too, they are more than what one needs for personal computer use. Like many I love music and think it is necessary for life, I listen to music everyday. These speakers allow sound to be heard better than previous set ups. You can actually hear the music differently and it sounds better! It isn't going to change music to hi-fi but it's pretty darn close. I LOVE these speakers! The size is perfect, they don't overwhelm my desk and fit neatly into each corner of the back of my desk. The wires are unobtrusive and easily hidden, the build quality is solid and the speakers feel the same way. The power knob is smooth with 1 tactile/auditory click for one and off. There is a front facing headphone 3.5mm jack under the volume/power knob and another 3.5mm on back of speaker which I plug my APK midi into to hear my musical creations. For $100 these are completely worth buying and using in your set up! I recommend highly and will be replacing these ones with more Bose speakers whenever I feel it's time. Thanks for reading, I hope this is helpful for someone.

These desktop speakers are excellent with great sound quality and strong bass. I would rank them in the top 20% in terms of how loud they can be without distortion. They are easily better than 90% of the computer speakers currently available. They are easy to set up, easy to use, and provide great sound at low-to-medium volume levels. You don't have to crank the volume to get good sound or good bass.

I purchased these speakers after the Mongoose Speakers with Bass Module that I had for over 15 years finally died and were distorting all sound. These new Bose Speakers have clear sound in the full range from low to high tones, and are extremely easy to install. They are also good looking and don't take up much space. I'm highly pleased with them and wish I had got them sooner. They're also a good value for the price! Delivery from the store to my door in less that 24 hours! Bose is known for excellence and these speakers live up to their well earned reputation. I highly recommend these!

I needed something with a nice, rich, sound that wasn't going to blow out my eardrums and these are amazing! Super easy to set up, use, and have a really dynamic sound that I can appreciate while I finally get my game on! They sit perfectly on my desk and adjusting them is a breeze! The bass was a bit heavier than I expected but I'm not going to take that as a bit thing.

For the price you cannot beat the sound. Good highs and lows with great volume. Not a full or has as much bass as the Companion 20 system, but those are more than double the price. So for under $100 you can't beat the Companion 2 Series III's.

I was like most torn between these and the 20's so i did a test set up my ice power EQ on my New Asus q536fd and tested the music, game, move and speech settings all set at 65% bass 90% treble 90% widener/ virtual surround and 100 of loudness , the laptop was only set to 35 volume as the laptop volume increases so do the Bose speakers . So I wanted something clear but more on the bass side deep bass notes and punchy pass like hard rock and rap or hip hop . The 250$ speakers were crystal clear actually to much treble for me and when my wife switched it was perfect I though for sure she was messing with me because the 2's series 3 sounded just what i has expecting the Companion 20's to sound like clear to where you can hear foot steps in a movie ,to deep bass and punchy bass with clear vocals but not so clear they sound automated you want to hear some bass in voices , also the 20' don't have a dedicated rear bass port and the 2's do , the 2's are super simple to put together with plenty of cord , i zip tied up about 3 feet or so . In closing These are great for computer speakers , I would not but them up against my lg sk9y with Dolby atoms and a 8" woofer lol but they are a good buy . These were my first Bose purchase as i have never found them to be worth the price and the quality compared to other speakers in the price range they fell short . But these hold their ground i just hope they dont blow i turned the base down to 50% and left the laptop at 35 volume and it sounds great . Hope this settles some of the confusion on the 150$ difference ... Its marketing and a little volume disc with a blue led vs a simple volume knob on the rt. speaker with a slit line to show where the volume is .

I had been using a pair of speakers for over 15 years because I really didn't see the need to replace them with something that sounded the same, but I couldn't pass these up when they went on sale during a member only deal. I mean, come on, they are Bose. In case you just crawled out from under a rock, Bose is a brand that is synonymous with luxury sound, often in small packages. Ever heard of MIT? Well those literal geniuses own Bose. Nuff said. Nope, not nuff said. The sound on these speakers is incredible. Often PC speakers will be tinny, or overly bass heavy at the expense of audio fidelity. These sound well balanced, and do a great job of keeping the crackles and odd audio artifacts that go along with digital sound to a minimum. Sounds are warm and natural in tone, and almost make your computer sound like it's supported by a high end bookshelf sound system. They are a little large for PC speakers, but not obviously so. They aren't too placement sensitive, and give great sound without fussing and fiddling. They don't come with a subwoofer, and honestly don't need one. Games get nice and boomy while staying crystal clear, and music can get a decent thump. Keep in mind that these are PC speakers, so they are made to sound best when heard from that distance. That being said they sound great from across the room, but really shine when being heard close up.

The Bose speakers are a great deal. Reasonable price for descent sound quality. Easy to set up. You should consider buying this product if you want a descent sound system for your computer. I like listening to music and Youtube tutorials. They do not get super loud, but loud enough to listen to over the hum of my treadmill. Also, the cool thing about these speakers is that they don't take up a lot of space, since there are only 2 pieces you do not have to set up a bunch more wires to and from the computer. I recommend these for people who want to listen to moderately loud music from their computer for exercise or for hearing in depth instructions. If you want bass slamming, house vibrating sound, than these speakers are not for you. If you want descent sound quality, the ability to have it be decently loud, and don't want 4 different speakers than this is the set for you.

I work from home and have a fully functional office, with all the equipment, in a converted bedroom. The sound system I had on my PC previously included a huge sub-woofer, that while it sounded great, was simply taking up too much room. Since everything else sound related in the house is Bose, I thought I'd give these a try. Turned up, they do not fully replicate the sound of a quality system with a sub woofer, but they come pretty close. Otherwise, for listening to things like weather or news, they are really, really good. The sound is clear and has quite a bit of depth, and the price was very reasonable. There is also an auxiliary in port on the back of the right speaker for uses other than what I bought them for. Dimensionally, they are 3 1/4" wide, 7 3/4" tall and a full 7" deep, not counting room for the cables. The height and width aren't a problem, but unless you have a wide shelf or a standard desktop with space, you need to accommodate for the depth, which is a little larger than the standard speakers that come (used to come) with most desktops. Nice stuff.
