    Very disappointed on every level

    I purchased this product to replace $49 computer speaker system. After 15 years at least that system failed. While it worked it had incredible sound with 2 tweeters and a sub woofer. I have had a bose speaker system for my home stereo which has also been great. I purchased the companion 2 set for my computer on 10/2. After a few days I noticed a loud buzz reminiscent of the sound made when plugging a musical instrument into a working amp. The sound was brief, loud and episodic. I concluded that it was a wiring issue. I disconnected it and attempted to return it. Unfortunately the 15 day return period had elapsed. Best Buy would do nothing for me but refer me to Bose. They were equally unhelpful. I told the Bose rep that I am not interested in this product but they would offer nothing but a replacement. Needless to say my confidence in their products and support is near zero. They're sending a replacement (probably a refurbished product) which I will not use. Bose is now on my do not buy list. Not because a product was defective but because their support of their products leaves much to be desired. I'm also disappointed in Best Buy's support but since my overall experience with Best Buy has been positive, I'll probably still shop there. When the speakers did work properly, They still fell short of the sound from my $49 system from creative audio.

    Not really worth the money!

    I got these for my office, after hearing then in the best buy store. They sound completely different from the way they sound in store, totally different sound quality. Once I hooked them up, I realized they would not be good in my office. They have no bass, but plenty of highs and mids. I needed more bass like the way they sounded in the store, however they did not deliver. So, I exchanged then for a much better sounding pair at 25℅ the cost. Logitech Z200, are much better. These are not worth the money!

    Stopped working after a little over a month.

    I bought these to go with my Audio Technica turntable. They sounded fine, though lacked a little bass. That wasn't a huge problem, but today they quit working. I bought them on January 19th, and they quit working on February 27th. I've tried multiple records, so I know it is the speakers that are the problem, and not the records. It started out sounding like when a radio is not quite tuned to a station, and then they just stopped working altogether. I got the Geek Squad warranty, so I plan on returning them tomorrow.

    Are they really this bad?

    Listened to the Bose in store to the obviously optimized song in the demo. Unfortunately it didn't translate at home. Very little volume and compared to my old Logitech Z340 set (that I'm trying to replace)...it was lacking all the way around. I can understand the low end since it does not have a sub woofer, but the clarity and richness wasn't there either. Could it be a defective unit? Possibly, but I'm not willing to risk it at $100..

      There is some troubleshooting we can do to find out why the volume is so low and the sound is not like what you heard in the store.

    I have purchased many Bose products over the years and have always been pleased with the results. This time, however, was a fail. Sound quality is just too inferior to what I've come to expect from Bose. I returned it for a refund and ponied up a little more cash for a fantastic Klipsch Pro Media 2.1. This thing is GREAT. Everything I wanted in a computer speaker and more. Exceptional bass

    Hi, I expected a lot before buying this speaker set, I purchased on Bose brand name (Because I have both headsets from Bose) , I didnt expected this much worst outcome from Bose! This is so disappointing that even Plantronics is better than this. Sorry for Negative review Bose, I love Bose so much but this product disappointed me so I returned it in single day!! Any way I love Bose, not this product.

    The power supply failed in less than a weak. Returned it to store that verified this was the problem but they would not exchange them. Had to return them to Bose and pay shipping. Lots of grief over a simple part. Would not recommend, there are much less expensive units that work as well.

    i wanted to be able to watch a movie on my computer, but these speakers had SO much bass (that you can't adjust), that I could not hear the actors speaking in several scenes. All the speakers did was amplify the background music. I returned these for the cheapest pair BB offered, and the new ones are perfect.

    These speakers had a tinnish sound and wer not what was expected of a bose product. From past experience with many bose products these were a big dissapointment. They were returned and replaced with a cheaper set that sounds fabulous.

    I thought Bose was a great product

    I purchased the Bose 2 companion speakers 2 years ago. Everything was going great til 2 days ago when the product fell apart. No sound No power I am now using 6 year old $10.00 speakers from my 2nd computer that out lasted the BOSE !

    they tweak all the speakers so much in stores so they sound awesome... but when you get them home, its nothing like it was in the store.. these speakers have poor volume. have to turn it way up to hear them, and theres no bass! very disappointing.. going back.

    Beware the short cord

    The cord from the speaker to the computer is only three feet long, severely limiting the placement of the speaker. My computer is on the floor, forcing me to put the first speaker directly above the computer. That's a deal killer for me. Back to the store they go.

    Unlike other Bose speakers (I have Bose Acoustimass home theatre, blue tooth and headphone), it delivers mono and not stereo sound. I was dismayed so I returned it back to Bestbuy.

      I can confirm that the Companion 2 Series III is capable of delivering stereo sound and the cable provided with the system is a 3.5mm Stereo Audio cable.

    Had the speakers for a few days when the speakers went out. Only one speaker was function. For a premium price I had to pay, I would expect the speakers to work longer than a week.

    I expected alot more than what I got. The Bose name and spending $100 I thought I was getting a good speaker, Iwas wrong. Sound was good output was BAD. I returned and purchased a different pair paid a little more but was worth it.

    I thought they sounded great in the store. But the music that is played through them is EQ'ed (optimized) to show off the best tonal responses. For the music that I ise them for they're sloppy and muddy sounding.

    Failed 10 days after warranty expired!!!

    I bought these speakers on January 9, 2018 and they failed on January 19, 2019. The sound was good for the size but they lasted 1 year!!! Piece of junk!

    But I'm such a long-standing buyer of Bose product over the past 45 years, I'm jumping back in the car and exchanging them for the same. I have never gotten any electronic product DOA so I guess it was finally my turn.
