I was conflicted between the Logitech Z625 2.1 and Bose Companion 2 series iii. After much research and reading reviews I first purchased the Z625 and promptly returned them the next day. The sound clarity was pretty poor and the Bass was just punchy rather than creating a good consistently sound through out a song. The bose Companion 2 series iii I was skeptical but traded in for these and they are keepers! The clarity is great, the bass is consistent and altho not going to knock you off your chair it adds a great dynamic and is perfect for me personally. I use these primarily for gaming when i'm not using headphones and they sound a million times better when playing Forza Horizon 4, for example. If you need to have a dance party in your living room these won't do the trick, if you need to rock around while cleaning or dance by yourself these are perfect! If you need to get really into your game and don't use headphones these will immerse you! I should also say i'm an amateur audiophile who is not a big fan of punchy bass. These are set up at my work/play computer in my bedroom and it fills the space quite easily and overall I would 100% suggest these over any other speaker at this current price point. My dance party speakers are Klipsch The Sixes - Amazing speakers for parties and big sound as an added recommendation.

Incredible sound, from a very small speaker system

I purchased these Bose speakers for my second computer at home. I purchased the Cerwin-Vega XD3's from Best Buy about 2 months ago, for my first computer. The reason I bring this up, is because I am very pleased with the sound quality of the Cerwin's, and I went to Best Buy to buy a second set of those. However, Best Buy was sold out of the Cerwin's, so for about the same price I bought the Cerwin's for, I decided to go with this Bose set, and try them out. Once I got home, I hooked the Bose up to my desktop computer, and WOW, the sound quality from these small speakers is absolutely incredible! The vocals are spot on, and the mid level bass tones definitely have a presence in anything that I played through them. Also of note is the sound stage presence. I bring this up because, when you look at these speakers, they are just so small, that you just expect an adequate, at best sound from them. However, once you set the volume button on the speakers to the halfway up area, then adjust your computer's sound volume, you are going to be impressed at how loud and clear these speakers reproduce sound. My conclusion in regards to the Bose speakers, is that if you have a budget of $100 to spend on speakers for your computer, these ARE the speakers to go with, hands down.

Bose is known for expensive gear, so for $99, I would say these speakers give you the most sound for the money. Frankly I am astonished Bose could produce a $99 speaker that sounds so good, in view of their expensive speaker lineup. A bit of background - I currently own the Bose Companion 3 series II, the Soundlink II and the previous version of Companion 2, the Series II. The Series III has better base than the Series II, and slightly better treble, but the Series II has better midrage. Both the Series II and Series III blows the Soundlink II (bluetooth speaker) out of the water. There is simply no comparison. The Series II is good for vocals, Jazz, Classical and the like. The Series III improves on this and sounds better on rock, pop and music with more bass. Of course none of these speakers can compare to the Bose Companion 3. The dedicated sub-woofer of the Companion 3 is orders of magnitude better in bass response, and the two satellite speakers has better high end as well. Design wise it is very similar to the Series II with the same ports and controls, except it is now in black - which is good because it matches more laptops/PCs. The previous silver version is good but does look a bit out of place on an all black setup (I have black monitor, black laptop and black mouse). The speaker cable length is just nice, as I do not want too long a cable length to clutter my desktop. Bose is designing this setup for laptops, not so much for desktop PCs. Overall excellent product from Bose, and definitely well worth the $99!

I work from home and have a fully functional office, with all the equipment, in a converted bedroom. The sound system I had on my PC previously included a huge sub-woofer, that while it sounded great, was simply taking up too much room. Since everything else sound related in the house is Bose, I thought I'd give these a try. Turned up, they do not fully replicate the sound of a quality system with a sub woofer, but they come pretty close. Otherwise, for listening to things like weather or news, they are really, really good. The sound is clear and has quite a bit of depth, and the price was very reasonable. There is also an auxiliary in port on the back of the right speaker for uses other than what I bought them for. Dimensionally, they are 3 1/4" wide, 7 3/4" tall and a full 7" deep, not counting room for the cables. The height and width aren't a problem, but unless you have a wide shelf or a standard desktop with space, you need to accommodate for the depth, which is a little larger than the standard speakers that come (used to come) with most desktops. Nice stuff.

installed on my pc and the sound is fantastic. impressed with the size and ease of installation. the cost was a bit steep for me, but it was worth getting a quality speaker that delivers a quality sound. i am happy that i only have to turn them on and the balance of bass and treble is built in. i listen to sirius online and enjoy the rich sound that comes out of these speakers. the same goes for any audio from the pc. i don't have to have pc volume above 50 percent or the speakers cranked high in order to hear audio on the pc. one con: there is no indicator on speaker to show when they are on, so you have to remember to manually turn them off when shutting down the device to which they are attached. if you are looking for smaller speakers with great sound output, and don't need the subs and woofers, or need speakers that will blast your neighbors' eardrums, buy these.

I had purchased the Companion 2 Series II about 3 weeks ago, and I loved them. I thought they were perfect, and there was nothing I would change about them, until I heard the Series III. You won't believe the sound difference. They are both fantastic speakers, but the Series III have a crystal clarity about them that is unmatched, and the bass response is incredible for such a small pair of speakers. The detail in these little bad boys is awesome. From every pluck of the guitar strings, to intricate cymbal work, these allow my music to shine. I use them on my desk in my cubicle, and they are perfect at ANY volume. The best part is, the sound doesn't carry across the room/gets absorbed by the cube walls, so I can turn these up a little bit, and they make my day so much better.

BOSE!!! What else is there to say!! BOSE FOR LESS THAN A HUNDRED BUCKS THAT'S WHAT!!!! I LOVE these speakers. I'm a huge fan of music and the ONLY thing I've ever wanted to be in life in a Karaoke star in my shower!! These little puppies right here let the 100,00+ spectators in Victor's bathroom get a full range of that medieval torture device known as karaoke in the brightest color and sound that only Bose can deliver. The speakers themselves are a little heavy for desk top speakers, but then AGAIN - THEY'RE BOSE!!!! What else would you expect? These aren't running shoes folks! You don't WANT them all light and delicate!! I can't begin to tell you how many autographs I've signed in my bathroom simply because of Bose!! Catch my next concert tour going on now...no really, like I'm in the bathroom right now about to take a shower and ready to ROCK THE MASSES!!!!!!!

all computers speakers i have heard in this price range sound like trash except these. Allot of the more expensive ones sound like trash too but these sound descent/good.. i am into high end audio so i am very picky about sound. these have a nice balanced sound. vocals sound very good and stand out, the highs sound descent, good separation and sound stage, nice lows for such small speakers but they cant handle the really low bass all that well and get a little muddy and thumpy for some songs but i would expect that out of small speakers like this.. overall these do sound pretty descent. i am not a fan of Bose at all, i think they are over priced speakers that sound only descent and have allot of distortion. but these really do sound nice for a inexpensive set of computer speakers. i would much rather have some polk, B&W or some other high end speaker but that is what i have my home stereo for. these are just to add some descent sound to the computer when i am on it. for the price you probably wont find too much better than these. if your not looking for audiofile quality speakers for your computer but just a nice sounding set of computers speakers i think most people would be quite happy with these..

These speakers are pretty amazing. I am no audiophile but know what I think sounds good and what sounds like junk. I'd initially been looking to buy something from Amazon with a sub woofer for about $50-60. The reviews were hit or miss, and while I did not want to spend $100 on speakers for my computer, I figured if I was having so much trouble selecting something for less than half the price I should probably just pay the extra money and walk out of the store confident in my purchase. I can hear the bass with the speakers; no need for a separate sub. The music sounds crisp and clear. I work from home, so having a good set of computer speakers that will be on at least half of the day is important. I've even watched television online on my computer and listened through these speakers and have been very impressed. I wish the cords were longer, but they're on par with everything else. Not the products fault I have an unusual setup. Nice having a headphone jack on the speaker as well. GLAD I made this purchase.

    Excellent Speakers For The Money

About four weeks ago, I purchased a pair of Logitech speakers for my computer. After having nothing but problems with these speakers, I trashed them and bought the Bose Companion 2 Series. These speakers cost nearly 4 times as much is the Logitech speakers, but trust me, they are well worth the money. I found the best sound quality came by turning the volume knob just a little past halfway on the dial. The sound is crisp, and for small speakers, they have not only good low-volume quality, they have very good high-volume quality. I'm not the biggest Bose fan, but these speakers are excellent. I would highly recommend them to anybody looking for a great set of computer speakers.

Had to choose between these bose speakers and a pair of logitech computer speakers WITH a subwoofer. It was a hard decision but ultimately I felt like I would be getting a better quality-sounding and accurate pair of speakers with the bose. Long story short, I was right and I'm glad i chose the bose. It doesn't have the boom boom low-end bass that you would get with a sub, but it has more than enough bass for a general multimedia computer setup. I game with headphones and have a home theater at my house and don't need the extra bass for my computer. If low-end bass isn't part of your list and you're looking for pair of computer speakers under $100, this is a great choice for sure.

I looked at reviews (and pricing) of several office speakers prior to purchasing these. They aren't the cheapest, but for the price I can't see any comparison. They are different from a lot of computer speakers in that they do not have a detached subwoofer. However, Bose technology incorporates a low frequency design directly into these speakers. In fact, they are ported in the back. For general listening these speakers deliver rich and balanced sound. If you're into hard hitting base these may not be for you. If you want a surround system for gaming/movies these aren't for you. But if you want a solid pair of speakers for under $100 that you can buy (and return if needed) from your local Best Buy store you can't go wrong here. BTW...you also get the "Bose" bragging rights if that's important to you LOL.

I really like this speakers. They sounded really good in the store and I was wondering if they would sound that good when I got them home. I opened up the box careful like in case I would need to re-box and return, but that wont be needed as they sound even better at home. I am an avid listener of music and had really good Logitech speakers prior to this but they were old and bulky with a huge sub that sat on the floor and took up too much room. With these speakers Iv'e downsized greatly on the footprint of space that my speakers take up and tripled the sound quality. I am that blown away. For the price and the sound I am super pleased.

I am a normal person, not an audiophile by any means. I am using the Sony - WH-1000XM3 headphones for my new game system and I wanted a set of speakers to use when working or playing light games. I was reluctant to get the Bose Companion 2-III because of some reviews, but I went ahead anyways. I have used many Logitech high end speakers with subwoofers before, and I was prepared to be disappointed in the Bose system. I was happily wrong. The sound is rich and expansive at mid and low volume levels and they are the best pair of speakers I have experienced so far. I have not cranked them up to the limit. My headphones are for that.

I'm not normally a Bose fan (their original 901 speakers were vastly overrated) but I took a chance on these because my new laptop is wonderful in most respects but lacking good sound. These were the perfect solution: low distortion and natural sounding even at high output levels; you can listen to them all day and not feel that you are missing something audibly. Some complain about their lack of low-end, but for 7" boxes that are small and light enough to sit unobtrusively on my desk and also to carry to my onsite presentations, they do exactly what I expect them to do. Highly recommended.

I wanted to save a little money and only spend for a great upgrade the 1070 not the greatest 1080. It is playing all my games on the highest settings with no problem. One advantage with this over the 1080, for me at least is as 4k becomes mainstream. I can purchase a better SLI ready Mobo and buy another 1070 making it twice the power. However, the bottleneck will then become the x8,x8 pci-e lanes. One card gets you x16. This gets split with another card so a better Mobo with more x16 lanes would be best so nothing is lost with two cards, i.e.- x16, x16. But tbh, one x16 which my one gtx 1070 runs on is pretty scorching as is. No need for 2nd card yet, but option will be there. My rambling is over. Hope it helps. P.s. - be sure to price check on other sites, Best Buy is good about matching their competitors prices. May save some dough.

I am a BOSE and Klipsch fanboy due to clarity of surround and voice for reference to my review. These Bose - Companion 2 Series III are extraordinary clear, precise and pointed for both low and medium volumes. I use them in a office to watch Business News and these are a dream with my 2015 Sager Laptop using a Creative Equalizer. You can tweak volume levels and clarity with a PC equalizer. If you don't have a equalizer option, I would recommend getting a DAC, USB Sound Card or PCI/PCIe sound card that comes with a software equalizer to take full advantage of these small but powerful speakers. Not that great for base heads, I would go with the Klipsch Pro Media 2.1 for base heads. For Multimedia, TV and Movies with a software Equalizer, these Bose - Companion 2 Series III are perfecto!

These speakers are pretty great for the amount of space they take up on your desk. I wanted some decent sounding speakers for my macbook and external monitor, without having a subwoofer under my desk since my space is limited. Of course, this takes away the rumbling, window-shaking bass that you might be accustomed to with a good set of home-theater or subwoofer powered computer speakers, but for the purposes that I needed, it works great. The sound has a good amount of bass, and provides a well-rounded, and clear sound (in my opinion, I am not an audiophile). The trebles could be brought out a bit more, but it doesn't bother me that much. For the price, I would definitely recommend these nice desk speakers if you value your desk space. It is sleek-looking and really doesn't take up much space.

YES, you can use them with your TV

Best bang for a buck, IMO (my second set). Use them with my music app --Napster, which I heartily recommend--and my TV. HDMI to TV; then download Realtek HD Audio Manager. On start up, make sure you launch Audio MAXX. Most important, click "SET DEFAULT DEVICE" box to the right of the audio level control. Now you've got Bose II speakers on your music app AND your TV. Let's you have a huge monitor for your laptop, cheap, and great speakers for your TV, too. STREAMING is where it's at, folks. Get Netflix, lose the cable, and save a bundle. This was a very simple operation, and I am a senior citizen with zip tech savvy, but lots of common sense. One note, the newer series needs a bit of additional acoustical padding. I just find them such an amazing thing. And cheap.

I went in to purchase a different set of speakers for my laptop. As always, I did my due diligence. Checking reviews from a variety of sources. Comparing prices. Looking for the absolute best deal I could find (I will spend for quality and value, every time, but I don't like it). I was convinced I knew what I wanted and went in to get the job done... then I trialed this set of Bose, popped my budget - although not by much, and impulsed bought my way out the door, never looking back. I think they're terrific. No need for a separate woofer on the floor. Nice small footprint on the desk top. Good full sound for me and my laptop. Someone somewhere is going to say they couldn't crank them loud enough at the last kegger, but really, perspective folks, perspective.
