Bose NC 700s - A Worthy Competitor Once Again!

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
The Bose QC35's used to be the best noise cancelling headphones you could buy - that is until Sony released their 1000XM3 series. It beat out the Bose in nearly every category except comfort. Bose's answer to that was to release the Bose NC 700. I own a pair of QC35's as well and wished I could have what the Sony's had, but with Bose's comfort.
The Bose 700s look beautiful in my opinion. A sleek, minimal, and easy to clean exterior paired with a sliding adjuster for headband size. The touch buttons have worked well for me so far, as well as the physical buttons. I'm glad to say that Bose has kept the same comfort that you get from the QC series in this new pair of headphones as well. This is one of the best selling points for those that travel a lot or plan to wear their headphones for an extended period of time. It is much more comfortable to wear than the Sony's are.
The Bose 700s also have a new ambient noise feature which allow you to adjust your ANC to a minimum and pass through outside noise so you can be more aware of your surroundings. It works great, but it doesn't block out sudden loud noises like the Sony's do. However, it makes up for this with the superior microphone quality. I walk to work on a busy street full of large trash trucks and I can talk on the phone with no background noise complaints. People have noticed that I sound much clearer.
I work in the aerospace industry, so I am constantly around 400Hz power. This means there is a constant humming sound in the lab which can drive you crazy. I put these on and even when I don't turn it to the highest level of ANC 10, it blocks out the noise completely. Also, Bose uses a new app called 'Bose Music'. You'll have to use this newly designed app to control the headphone settings - the old one for the QC series won't work. I didn't mind having a separate app for this since this app connected much easier than the old one, and it's user interface was much cleaner.
Overall, the weakest point for this headphone was the sound quality. It is still someone empty and lacking compared to the Sony's. Don't get me wrong, they still sound amazing, but the lack of EQ in the Bose app means you also can't do anything about it. If Bose can release a software update in the future that allows for EQ control or the ability to block loud sudden noises in ambient mode, this would be a perfect 5!
Note: These no longer come with the airplane adapters.

Unrivaled Noise Cancellation and Immersive Sound

I recently purchased the Bose Headphones 700 Wireless Noise Cancelling Over-the-Ear Headphones in Triple Black, and I must say, I am absolutely blown away by their performance! These headphones have exceeded all my expectations and more.
First and foremost, let's talk about the noise cancelling feature. It is truly unparalleled. Whether I'm on a noisy airplane, working in a bustling coffee shop, or simply trying to unwind at home, the active noise cancellation on these headphones does an exceptional job of blocking out unwanted external sounds. It creates a serene and immersive audio experience, allowing me to focus on the music or podcast I'm listening to without any distractions.
The sound quality is where the Bose Headphones 700 truly shine. The audio is crystal clear and well-balanced across the entire frequency range. The bass is deep and impactful, while the midrange and treble are detailed and precise. It's a joy to listen to all genres of music with these headphones, as they bring out the nuances and intricacies of each track.
Comfort is another area where Bose has nailed it. The earcups are plush and soft, providing a comfortable fit even during extended listening sessions. The adjustable headband ensures a secure and personalized fit for any head size. I appreciate the lightweight design, which makes wearing these headphones for hours on end a breeze.
The build quality is exceptional, as expected from Bose. The headphones feel sturdy and well-made, with a sleek and modern design. The touch controls on the right earcup are intuitive and responsive, allowing me to control playback, adjust volume, and activate voice assistants with ease.
In terms of connectivity, the Bluetooth pairing process was seamless and hassle-free. The wireless range is impressive, and I experienced no dropouts or connectivity issues during my usage. The built-in microphone provides clear voice quality during calls, and the noise-rejecting technology effectively eliminates background noise, making conversations crisp and clear.
Lastly, the battery life on these headphones is fantastic. Bose claims up to 20 hours of wireless playback on a single charge, and in my experience, they have delivered on that promise. The fast charging feature is a game-changer too, providing several hours of playback with just a quick 15-minute charge.
To sum it up, the Bose Headphones 700 Wireless Noise Cancelling Over-the-Ear Headphones in Triple Black are an outstanding investment for any audiophile or frequent traveler. The noise cancellation, sound quality, comfort, and overall performance are second to none. Bose has once again set the bar high in the world of headphones. I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone seeking an immersive and premium audio experience.
This review is based on my personal experience and opinion after using the Bose Headphones 700 for an extended period of time.

Bose does make some of the Great Noise Cancelling Headphones and this pair is in that category.
Google assist is a very nice feature.
Noise cancellation can be turned from 0-10
Side swipe Feature on the right outer headphone Up and Down for Volume. Swipe Forward to fast forward and Swipe Back to Play back. Tap the right outer headphone to Play, Pause or answer a call.
Must get Bose Music App to connect.
These are Very light Weight lots of foam on the ear cups and the Halo over your head.
I really like there are not a lot of buttons on this to get confused with by hitting the wrong one.
There are just 2 on the right ear cups and 1 on the Left ear cup.
Love that the indicator voice will tell you how many hours are left on your battery instead of giving you a battery percentage. So now you know if you have a flight you know how many hours it will last you.
Charging time is good but the charging cable is not long at all.
The noise canceling is awesome you really can't hear anything but what your playing.
I own 4 other headphones all different brands and these are now my favorite one's to own.

Purchased for our college student as a gift for Christmas. She absolutely loves these after wearing Beats for the last few years she was raving about the exceptional sound, the touch command features, long battery life, the ability to turn off the noise canceling mode while in a call. She also loves the overall comfort when wearing them and the sleek design. These were worth the extra cost over beats for sure!!

There is nothing like the sound of Bose equipment! I have been a loyal customer for at least 15 years. The sports earbuds are great, but these are the BEST! Perfect for working out at the gym and for long flights. Noise-cancelling feature is fantastic and helps block out annoying people, conversations, and music! I've even used these for sleep when listening to sleep aid music/sounds. These fit snug and the carrying case is sleek and not the least bit bulky. They always connect immediately (without issue) and have excellent battery life. Highly recommend these! :)

I've been using the Bose Headphones 700 and they're simply the best. Their sleek design is matched by durable quality and intuitive touch controls, making them not just headphones but a style statement. The sound quality is unmatched, providing crisp, balanced audio across all genres with an immersive soundstage. The noise cancellation is exceptional, offering tranquility in noisy environments with 11 levels of ANC. They're incredibly comfortable for long wear, thanks to plush earcups and even weight distribution.
The battery life, offering up to 20 hours, is more than adequate for daily use, complemented by a quick-charge feature. The integration of voice assistants and the Bose Music App adds a layer of convenience and customization, making them a smart addition to my tech arsenal.
In short, the Bose 700s excel in every category, from sound to comfort to functionality. They represent a premium investment in my listening experience, and they've been absolutely worth it.

I've had these headphones for over a month. For the price tag, I was expecting excellence, in which I got close to.
COMFORT. Let me start by saying they are very comfortable. I've worn dozens of cans, and these are one of my favorite to wear. Not too much pressure on my head and the cushions are super soft. Definitely on my top 5 most comfortable headphones.
ALEXA. This was a huge deciding factor for me. I have a smart home, so I love the interactivity I can maintain with it even when I'm away. And might I add, it works great! I've had headphones/earbuds that worked with Siri, but they never worked as I wished. These however, work flawlessly. I wasn't expecting much, so I was pleasantly surprised. You don't even need the Alexa app open!
SOUND QUALITY. After all, that's the whole purpose of headphones. As expected from a Bose product, it sounds great. Not too much bass. Clear voices. People I've called say I sound nice and clear. I do wish they went a tad louder though. Their max volume leaves something to be desired.
CARRYING CASE. The included case is nice-ish. There is an included small compartment inside to store wires with a weak magnet to keep it closed, and it's not very big. The case also feels a bit soft. I'd trust it to be dropped, but not sat on.
BATTERY LIFE. I know people complained about battery life. I found no issue with it. Never did I run out of juice throughout the day. I guess when you compare it to its competitions, the longevity of the power could be better. I personally don't care. I charge it at night, lasts me the whole following day.
NOISE CANCELLATION. Here is where it shines. Noise cancellation works great! I love the feature in which you can decide the level of nose cancellation. It's a range from 1-10. I find that 5-6 works for most days. When it's real noisy, I crank it to 10. Also, you can preset 3 different levels to a button on the right can (done through the app), which is pretty dang convenient.
APP. The Bose app is meh. It's not good, not bad. Not the best app, not the worst. I did have a few instances where it did not connect to the headphones. A quick power off/on fixed that. You can adjust the sound quality, noise cancellation level, etc. To be honest, I've only opened the app about 4 times since purchasing the headphones. There was just no need to.
PROBLEMS. No headphones are perfect. these aren no exception. My biggest complaint is I wish they folded. God I wish they folded. I understand Bose's goal was to make them more durable with a strong headband... but gees I wish they folded. It would have been easier to throw in my backpack. Also, the "cans" part rotate up when around the neck. They do that so you can use them as personal portable speakers. I would have rather lost that feature, and had them rotate down for protection.
OVER ALL. For the greater part, I'm very happy with these. They are my go-to headphones. They sound great, feel even better, and I'll never feel lonely with Alexa at my ear. Aside from not folding and the cups rotating to the sky, they are close to perfect so far. SO FAR.

Honestly the noise cancelling is a *bit* too much for me, but I can never hear when my girlfriend is yelling at me anymore from right behind me! It’s crazy how well these work.
The bass boost is INCREDIBLE. I had my old Bose headphones (PBUH) stolen from my car in my work backpack. (Don’t leave your backpacks visible in Houston Texas.) bought these bad boys on OPEN BOX SALE! Incredible deal at 280 for them couldn’t resist.
These headphones do like to slip off your head when doing bench press / dumbbell press at the gym, standing up or sitting they fit pretty snug though.
Don’t even get me started on the battery life. These bad boys tell me “TwEnTy HoUrS bAtTeRrY lEfT” every time, love that so much
Again:
Sound quality 10/10
Noise cancelling: 10/10 (this is adjustable, however I haven’t figured it out yet tho)
Comfort: 9/10
Gym: 8/10

Outstanding sound quality and easy to pair with multiple devices at the same time. Lacks a little volume but the sound quality compensates for it.
Materials feel sturdy and of very high quality. The active noise canceling is excellent but becomes a little discomforting after a while, at least for me, however it can be adjusted at three different levels.
The battery can last for over 12 hours depending on the settings, and the touch controls work perfectly.
The headphones are very comfortable but don't sit very tight in place and can fall easily when looking up if not careful.

Where do I begin.. Long time fan of Bose products since I could lay my hands on them. Sure they are a "consumer" product but they deliver over and over again... This product from Bose is honestly NO EXCEPTION of there Years of Super Solid, Top Notch, Highly Engineered Products.
I bought these as a replacement of a longtime QC25 as I was seeking some deeper sounds. I had decided to buy these second to the Sony WX1000 in which after buying I was truly floored with how impressive Sony's product was I had to go out & compare make sure I made the right choice dropping the Bose.. In the end, Yes.. Sony beats out Bose by a bit of a landslide, let me explain. Both of these products however are Solid 10/10 !!!
Pro's: Build Quality (I love headset adjustment), Comfort (floating feeling!!), Clear Crisp Sound I am very familar with, Clean Light Punchy Bass, In-App Battery/Bluetooth Controls, Bose Nameplate
Con's: Missing that Big Deep Punch from Bass.. , App leaves alot to be desired.,.. No real EQ, Not Loud enough
Overall.. I was very happy with the Bose 700 & if the Sony did not exist or was not as impressive as it is, I would be keeping the Bose instead however they have lost the very long time throne of King of Noise Cancel / Wireless headphones, one I am very happy to see but also very sad to migrate brand loyalty. I will be looking forward to the next 2yrs when Bose makes a new Gen of these, I look to see a more competitive product for our generation but until then Sony is the new King of the streets here, lastly Sony can be sub $300 which is crazy they are cheaper then the Bose either way these are King & Prince of whats available in 2020.

The feel of the NCH 700's is nice. It's a streamlined design that grew on me and looks very modern. Weight is slightly more than the QC35II's. Build quality is significantly superior with more metals being used and most importantly, the comfort is similar. I would maybe give the slight edge to the QC35II in comfort due to the lower weight, but the NCH 700's is still a very comfortable headphone. The headband adjustment is smooth and should accommodate a wide variety of head sizes just fine. Ear-cup openings is similar to the QC35II with the left and right labels inside the ear cups for easy notation on how to put the headphones on.
Controls are great and I can say the touch controls are very responsive and intuitive. Swipe up for volume increase. Swipe down for volume decrease. Swipe forward for the next track. Swipe backward for the previous track. Double tap to play and pause. Tap once to accept and incoming call. Tap and hold to reject the call. Tap and hold to go to a shortcut predefined in the app. The current shortcut available was to have the voice prompt alert you of the current battery life in which she tells you the estimated time until the battery is dead. There's 3 dedicated buttons on the NCH 700's. The two on the right is responsible for Power on/Bluetooth pairing and voice assistance/mute mic. The one on the left is to cycle between the 3 preset noice cancelling modes defined with the app. The right earpiece houses the USB-C port and the left earpiece houses the audio input port.

The Bose Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 are a great addition for anyone who enjoys listening to music, audio books, and/or podcasts while on the go. These headphones are lightweight and easy to use. My favorite feature is that you can control the play/pause and volume by touch. The noise cancelling feature really is great and allows for clear audio sound. The battery life is longer than I expected it to be. The headphones came in a case that is perfect for anyone who travels and is on the go frequently. It has a place for the headphones and the cables. I’ve owned these for three days, using them at least 6-7 hours a day during that time. Here are some observations:
Sound quality- great
Bass- it is there. Not sure why there are complaints about their bass. I have been pleasantly surprised.
Battery- good, 20 hours as advertised
Comfort- sits on my larger head well. No issues with comfort.
Controls- controls work as intended.
Here are areas where I was disappointed, but not enough to detract from the excellent experience
- their is not a way to turn off the voice between noise cancelling levels. If you press it, you miss about three seconds of audio or a phone call.
- getting the headphones adjusted equally on both sides is kind of tough, but really not a big deal.
- the Bose music app that connects to your headphones is really, really under-supported. I am surprised if I look at the app and my headphones show they are available to adjust settings. Definitely the most disappointing part of the whole experience
.
Overall, you won’t be disappointed with the headphones. The sound quality surpasses beats, and in my opinion, Sony.

So far I really enjoy these headphones. I’m not a professional in audio sounds or anything but it certainly does what I’m looking for in high quality headphones. It’s wireless, lightweight, long battery life, great noise cancelling and such a nice clean sound. It comes with a case which holds a cable to use as plug in headphones and it’s charger. I think this is great because I won’t lose these cables.
What I especially love about these headphones is that they connect really seamlessly to my phone and computer. They also don’t have the issue of cutting off my audio from time to time. I own another pair of high quality Bluetooth headphones that seem to cut off sound sometimes or even worse, just disconnect all together. I’m happy to say I have had that problem at all with these.
My only problem with these actually is that sometimes they slip down my head when I bend down. This is more so my small head problem I assume. Still they are really comfortable :)

I recently upgraded my audio game with the Bose Headphones 700 Wireless Noise Cancelling Over-the-Ear Headphones in Triple Black, and I must say, these headphones have completely exceeded my expectations in terms of both performance and style.
Bose has always been renowned for its noise cancellation technology, and the Headphones 700 take it to a whole new level. The active noise cancellation eliminates distractions like no other, creating a serene listening experience that is second to none.
Aside from the exceptional noise cancellation, the sound quality of the Headphones 700 is nothing short of outstanding. The audio is crisp, well-balanced, and incredibly detailed. The headphones deliver a wide soundstage, making every instrument and vocal shine with precision.
Comfort is key when it comes to over-the-ear headphones, and Bose has nailed it with the Headphones 700. The ear cups are plush and cushy, fitting snugly around my ears without causing any discomfort, even during extended listening sessions. The headband is adjustable and well-padded, ensuring a secure and comfortable fit. I can wear these headphones for hours without experiencing any pressure points or soreness.
The touch controls on the ear cups are intuitive and responsive. With a simple swipe or tap, I can adjust the volume, skip tracks, or answer calls effortlessly. The headphones also have built-in voice assistants like Google Assistant, allowing for hands-free control and easy access to information on the go.
Battery life is impressive, providing up to 20 hours of continuous playback on a single charge. The headphones also support quick charging, giving me 3.5 hours of playtime with just 15 minutes of charging. The Bose Music app provides additional customization options, allowing me to personalize my listening experience and access software updates.
In terms of call quality, the Headphones 700 excel as well. The adaptive microphone system delivers crystal-clear voice clarity, even in noisy environments. The person on the other end of the call can hear me loud and clear, thanks to the advanced noise-rejecting technology that effectively filters out background noise.

I'd been considering getting over the hear headphones for a while and was torn between QC 35 II or 700 or Sony. I kept coming back to the 700's for aesthetics, features performance and the Bose sound that suits my ears.
I purchased these when they were on sale, so at the same price as the QC 35's it was a no brainer. Sound is fantastic, battery life is long, headphones are comfortable to wear. Ridiculously comfortable in fact. Call quality is good as well. I wear these pushing a mower and I can still hear the mower on the 10 setting of noise cancellation but sound from the mower is significantly reduced. I like the touch features to skip, go back or pause.
You do have to install an app for your phone in order to set them up.
I'm giving them good as I feel they're a bit pricy and they don't fold up, the cans just basically rotate and sit in a large case. The case is nice but they are bulky when put inside so not the greatest to travel with.
All in all, I'm very satisfied with them and had no trouble setting them up and no trouble after several firmware updates.

More than just bluetooth headphones! Great sound,

So I have never really had more than just the basic bluetooth headphones but I was really excited for these Bose® - Noise Cancelling Headphones. My husband said these were what some celebrities were using. He was all excited about what they can do and he had good reason. Firstly they come in a hard case to protect them. There is a little flip up section in the case that contains the charging cord and cord to connect them to a device if needed. The headphones themselves fold at the ear pieces to fit in the case nicely. The cushion on the headband and the ear cover pieces is super super soft and squishy and very comfortable. I wore them the first time for at least an hour without it feeling uncomfortable. There are only 3 buttons on them for the bluetooth connection and for the other features. I would hit a button and it would say no notifications or if you had some it could read them to you. You can use this to talk on your phone too as it has a microphone and you set it up with your Assistant like google or alexa. I set up the google assistant and I was able to speak commands. This is definitely more than just headphones. This is like a mini workstation set. I can do so much and I am still learning the other things I can do. It can be quite confusing at first as each time I would push a button something would happen and their is no label for the other buttons. I had to use the guides to figure it out a bit. The sound quality is amazing and I love the noise cancellation. I have 3 kids and I can wear these and not hear them or their tablets they like to play. It was very nice. Plus they are a some black color and sleek and very nice looking. Not too flashy and that I think is the point. Definitely recommend. I did get to try these for free for testing purposes but the opinions here are based on my own experiences.

Upon opening the shipping packaging on these headphones, I was blown away by the sleek box and case the headphones came in. Once I got the headphones out of the box and case the feeling was so smooth and lightweight. I immediately put them on my head and over my ears and pressed the button to turn them on per the quick start guide. Downloading the app to use with these headphones was quick and so easy pairing all of my favorite other apps to use along with Bose. The only thing I wish the guide had was a little more instructions on how to use the headphones. I mean, yes, headphones are pretty self explanatory however I would have liked a little more explaination in the guide from the box. I decided to pair these with my Kindle and watch one of my new favorite shows and was so excited to hear the quality of these headphones compared to the earbuds I have used before. The earbuds, after long use have always made my ears feel bruised or dull pain after long use. These headphones don't hurt or feel tight at all.
Pros- great case for traveling and storage, sleek and lightweight design, amazing sound quality, you can adjust the level of noise cancelling
Cons- need more instructions inside the box
I would buy these as a gift and recommended them to anyone to purchase, these are great!

I have purchased Bose noise canceling headphones for years, including the aviation headphones that Bose developed for pilots. When it comes to noise canceling headphones Bose is definitely the brand to go to and the Bose Noise Canceling Headphones 700 take both the comfort and noise cancellation to another level. Even if you have a slightly older version of their noise cancellation headphones I'd recommend an upgrade.
The audio quality is also really good and it was nice to see that the headphones are charged with USB-C, an improved USB connector that is becoming more and more common with devices.
The iOS app worked flawlessly and I was able to pair my headphones easily to my iPhone and iPad. Within the app you can change the level of noise cancellation you want although some airlines won't let you use Bluetooth so set the level before boarding.
The carry case has been improved also with a really nice compartment for the power cable and headphone audio cable.
