After about 3 weeks of using these, I don't ever want to be without them. They have helped tremendously with falling asleep at night. They mask the sounds of my CPAP, my wife's occasional snoring, etc. I had an early issue with the charging process and one headset not being on when I'd wake up, but between the prompt response from Bose and the help section in the app, I was able to solve the problem. They've been problem-free ever since.

Wish it was noise canceling and be able to play your music. Can’t download all sounds at once or manage them. You have to get them one at a time. Needs more storage for them. Love the case though and how small they are. Sleeping with them is comfortable. Price is too high for what they do.

      Hi Joel,

Thank you for providing a review of the Bose noise-masking sleepbuds. We're sorry to hear that it did not quite live up to your expectations. We appreciate your feedback here in regards to streaming and using noise-cancelling technology. We believe noise-masking works better because of the different sounds combine in our inner ears; if they have the right match of frequencies and one (the masking sound) is just enough louder than another (the disturbing sound), your inner ear and brain cannot detect the disturbing sound.

To achieve a form factor small enough to be comfortable for sleeping and fit a battery that can support sound playback for an entire night, we made the conscious design decision not to stream audio to the sleepbuds. Instead, the sound files are stored on each of the sleepbuds and played back locally.

Much like a smartphone or USB drive, the sleepbuds will reach a point when memory is full and you need to delete a sound file before adding a new one. The requirement to delete a sound is based on the combined size of all of the sounds on your sleepbuds, not on the number of sounds. This means you could have anywhere from eight to 12 sounds on your sleepbuds before being prompted to delete a sound. The Bose Sleep app will tell you when you need to delete a sound before transferring a new one from the Sound Library.

      Thanks again for the review.

I'll admit that I bought these because my wife snores really loudly. While they help to block some of the sound, they don't block all of it unless you really crank the volume and I'm not hip to do that so I don't ruin my hearing (there is a built in warning that comes up if you go too high on the volume). They are easy to wear and stay in all night so for now I'm saying they're pretty good. The price is super high though in my opinion. If you've got the $ to pay for them they might solve your problem.

These Bose noise sleep buds suprised me! I dont like trying to sleep with any type of earbuds in because it is not comfortable. These are low profile to my head and I can listen to my choice of sounds that now drown out the annoying sounds! I have found that I am acheiving a more constant and deeper sleep! I have already highly recommended to serveral people who were glad they purchased them!

Unfortunately, my wife has to sleep with a C-PAP machine to help with breathing at night along with helping to prevent her from snoring. However, sometimes when the mask starts to wear out she will snore. I bought the Bose Noise Masking for those occasions. Let me tell you they work. Like all Bose products they are a bit pricey, but worth it if they work, and they do.

I purchased these because I have hyperacusis and am sensitive to loud noises like thunderstorms. These are really comfortable to sleep in and are effective in reducing noise to help you sleep. I took these with me to New Orleans at the beginning of Mardis Gras season and was able to sleep on Bourbon Street, through all the street sweeper, partying, music and sirens. I am very happy.

These are nice for masking sound, but I still get awakened at night by snoring. Plus I only put them in when snoring starts so I have to open the app on my phone to start them up. Can hear other noises easily so no worries about not hearing smoke alarms or dogs barking. They work well when I'm on the couch, but that was what I was trying to avoid. Still not getting enough sleep.

Pros: sleek design, size, comfort, battery life, ease of use, can disconnect from phone/device and still play sounds (so it does not drain device battery) Cons: NOT noise cancelling, only noise making (could still hear partner snoring) Only work with Bose app, app has 10 redundant sounds, cannot connect to music or other apps (limiting use)

      Hello AlBe,

Thank you for providing your review of the Bose noise-masking sleepbuds. We are glad to hear that you found them comfortable to wear and simple to use! We understand however that they did not quite live up to your expectations.

To achieve a form factor small enough to be comfortable for sleeping and fit a battery that can support playback for the entire night, we decided not to stream audio to the Sleepbuds. Instead, the sound files are stored on each Sleepbuds and played back locally. All sounds will be provided by the Bose so that we can optimize the masking and/or relaxation experience. We are developing and working on new sounds, and we plan to make them available as a library within the Bose Sleep app in future updates.

If you have any questions, we would love to hear from you. Please feel free to contact our Sleepbuds Support team directly by calling (800) 905-1273 (Mon-Sat 9 am-midnight, ET).

My wife is a night shift nurse. She was having trouble staying asleep due to all the outside noise around our apartment. These helped. A lot. She can still hear (kind of) what's going on (there's a built in alarm clock you can set) but it just makes it where everything is a soft/almost silent dull hint of something in the background. Very well made and easy to setup and use.

I’ve been looking at these for months, but some reviews were not so great and let’s face it, they aren’t cheap. But ... 3 nights ago I had a particular rough night with not falling asleep, finally falling asleep, then not being able to get back to sleep, so I took the leap. I am SO happy. There are multiple sizes of tips, but the installed size fit my ears well. The sound levels are adjustable. I’m using it about midway. I can hear my husband speak, but the sounds of the earphones block out the TV voices AND my husband’s snoring!!! Maybe the best part is blocking his snoring when I’m trying to get back to sleep. The plugs are easy to put in, easy to get out, they stay in all night, and they are comfortable enough to wear all night. There are multiple options for alarm noise, as well as alarm volume. I bought the warranty and I am thrilled with this purchase!

Bought these because I thought it would help with noises while I sleep. It doesn't completely block out sounds but it does what it says - it masks them so that other sounds become much easier to ignore. They're also quite comfortable, but I won't go so far as to say it feels like nothing's there. Once you get the fitment right and wear them for a few nights, you'll get used to it.

Loving how these cut down on all the strange and extraneous sounds when I'm traveling so that I can get quality sleep. They are soft and fit flush in the ears, so you can sleep on your side without feeling anything sticking out. You can pick from many different sounds and set the audio level for them to the perfect level for you to sleep soundly.

I was very reluctant because of the price and because they are NOT actually headphones...you can't play your music on them and I still don't like that. HOWEVER, if my partner is making noise or if I'm in a hotel or the cats are running around. These do exactly what you want drowd out the sound and help you sleep. I don't sleep great so in my mind WORTH it.

I travel with a very loud snorer. I had been extremely miserable every time I shared a room with her. These headphones have helped me. If it is an extremely loud, snoring night, I can pick a loud sound to drown out the noise. All sounds provided are good. You learn to pick your favorites. Even though expensive, very good to solve noise issues.

I am 55. My husband has always snored, but as I have grown older, I sleep lighter, and his snoring has been such a problem that I have not been able to get adequate sleep, period. This resulted in me often sleeping in a different room just to get a good night's rest. I read mixed reviews about these sleep buds. I took a chance. Best $250 I have spent in a long time. I took them on our cruise (no where else to sleep) and they afforded me a wonderful sleep all but one night. When my husband developed a cold/congestion his snoring became very loud, and this was a bit difficult to drown out - but turning up the volume helped and I was able to sleep much of the night. Downside of these is they only play the few sounds that Bose offers. It is surprising that Bose does not have a more robust menu of choices (although I really don't feel I NEED more choices) and that I cannot connect to other apps on my phone with these, etc. My MAIN reason for buying these was to be able to sleep with a husband who snores. Mission accomplished and so grateful I took the chance. They must be charged nightly though, and also you have to make sure they secured in the charging station correctly. If they are even off slightly they don't charge. Love them. Would buy again.

My wife uses a pair of original SleepBuds and has indicated she cannot live without them. We were having some of the battery issues that many others have and that caused Bose to announce they were discontinuing the product until they could perfect the power supply. In a panic, we bought another SleepBud to eventually replace the ones in use should they ever completely fail. We were very pleased to see Bose announce that they were releasing the SleepBud II after (hopefully) fixing the battery charge issues. I reached out out to Bose, and they are replacing our original used SleepBuds and this unopened purchase with two new SleepBud IIs. Glad to see a company stand behind their product with hassle-free service. My “no recommend” and “quality” ratings are for the original purchase due to the battery issue. Do not buy the originals. However, the SleepBud concept was a life-altering product and I cannot recommend it enough. You should give the SleepBud II a try if you live with someone who snores or you are a light sleeper.

Overall good product. I bought these to see if they would help drown out noise from the TV in the other room. For the most part, the did, depending om the volume of the TV. They also help me relax, by drowning out the thoughts and noise in my mind. I like listening to the relaxation sounds for about 5 minutes, before switching to the noise masking sounds. I wish there were enough storage to download a lot more sounds.
