This charging cradle is a nice sleek design and saves you from fumbling with the charging cord but 30$ for just a cradle is a bit much, even for Bose. It should have come in the box with the home speaker.

After opening it and checking it out. You'll understand why it's so much. It just would've been better if it came with cables since it is the charging cradle.

This would be a useful product if the cradle itself held a charge and was portable, then you could use it to keep the speaker charging no matter where it is. However, this still has to be plugged into an outlet to work. So, you are paying extra just to plug the cord into this thing instead of the speaker. It serves zero purpose and does nothing to expand on portability and I cannot believe people are still buying it. If you damaged the port on your speaker…that is the only instance in which this could help. Otherwise just save the cash and use the port that is built into your speaker. Bose should be embarrassed about selling this dumb thing separately, it should come with the speaker because it is mostly useless backup junk.

The charging cradle has been designed to allow for convenience of use with allowing pick up and go for a full charged speaker. The cradle does need to be plugged into a wall outlet to work, it also allows for easier charging, as you can just place it on the cradle.

This base was a suggested add on product when I bought our speaker but it isn’t compatible and the only one that is is only sold on Bose website and is black

I returned the base without issue.
