Great Technology, wish they were more durable

I bought these head phones in 2016 and used them on and off over the years. The noise cancelling was phenomenal for first 3 years and so was the fit and form. Last year the cover to the noise cancelling control lost adhesion, then the insulation as the cord coming out of the plug failed and just now the adhesive holding the ear bud together just gave up. I loves the head phones and when I bought them in 2016 I paid 300dollars. For that much money i wish the adhesives would have held up. Still a good purchase and I will miss them!

I am a very picky person, especially when it comes to great quality sound. I usually go with Beats, I had to recently replace my UR Beats because they were no longer working. I tried the Powerbeats2 wireless and I was not happy with them at all. After talking to a Best Buy employee she recommended the Bose. I decided to give them a try and WOW these are definitely keepers. The sound is AMAZING and they are sooooooo comfortable. I mainly use them at the GYM and they block out all the noise. I get lost in my music and loose track of time while working out! Buy them you wont regret it and buy the 2year protection plan too! Anything happens to them Best Buy has the best warranties out there, they give you a new pair, no questions asked!

    Fantastic noise canceling ear buds

I have a pair of Klipsch Noise canceling headphones (over the ear). The sound is great, but i found them uncomfortable to wear for the 12 - 14 hour flights to Asia, which is the main reason I have them in the first place. The bulky size of a full over the ear noise canceling headphone is a disadvantage when trying to travel light. I was looking for a more comfortable noise canceling headphone - primarily to use for lengthy flights. Upon doing some research, I saw several comments that the Bose noise canceling ear buds were exceptional with noise canceling and extremely comfortable. I bought the Bose - QuietComfort 20i just prior to a trip to Japan. I was completely satisfied with the excellent noise canceling performance and comfort of these ear buds. I find I am actually using them on a daily basis which I was not planning on. The small size (compared to a full size over the ear noise canceling headphone) makes it easy for me to have them stashed in my computer bag and have with me at all times. In a studio environment with no ambient noise, I am sure there are several products available with exceptional sound quality at a lower price point. In the real world, the noise canceling feature of this product allows one to discern details in music at a much lower volume level than with traditional ear buds. I key benefit in my book. Not an inexpensive product, but worth the price if you a looking for excellent noise canceling in a compact comfortable package.

I purchased this item hoping that I would be able to listen to music while mowing the lawn without blowing my ear-drums out. This product works awesome! The lawn mower sounds like a sowing machine and doesn't even over power a soft song. In the past using in-ear headphones I had to crank the volume in order to hear over the mower; which almost melted my ear-dums. If you are looking for a Great set of earbuds that you could wear forever, this it the product for you! I can't stress enough just how much I enjoy using these earbuds.

    Most comfortable, great NC, pricey

I can wear these all day long, no irritation. The tips sit at the ear canal and don't "invade" it, yet the soft flexible silicon skirt closes the canal off for great comfort and noise isolation. Then there's the world-class noise cancellation. As I write this, I'm sitting literally 5 ft from the basement oil burner (noisy enough to have to raise you voice to be heard conversationally) and hear only a slight very low-level background hiss. As near silence as you can get. Plus, if I switch off the NC I still get quality audio like my other ear buds, only far more comfortable. The only downside is that NC does cost.

OK, confession time. I have another pair of these...somewhere. But I needed something with noise cancelling for this year's Indy 500 and just bit the bullet and bought another pair. If I find my other pair, that's fine. They're great little headphones and I'll dedicate the second pair to my travel kit.

    Absolute Silence

    |
    Posted .

You don't realize how much noise you are surrounded by until you try these. Absolute silence, I work in a office filled with white noise, circling air fans, and people on the phone all day. I've tried several noise cancelation headphones and was about to give up until I tried these. The white noise is gone, I can no longer hear the printer on the other side of my cube. The people talking are gone except for the very loud and noisy and they are nothing but a muffle. Music is crisp and as clean as any premium over the ear headset I've tried. The ear piece material is so soft that I can wear these all day without noticing them as I work. My only complaint is the Noise Canceling component that you switch on and off has a 1 1/2 inch cord to plug into your phone. This causes it to hang out of your caring belt case or pocket when on the move. The cord to the phone is so short there is simply no place to store it. The ear piece cord length to the phone is long enough to store your phone on your hip or on the table next to your chair but no further. Attaching a inline extension cable create a tremendous electrical noise regardless of the several cable extenders I've tried. In short the cable length is what it is and can not be extended.

    Bbig improvement from over-the-ear headphones

This earbud design is excellent. It fits neatly into the ear with one of three sizes of inserts. It actually cancels outside sounds better than my previous Bose QC2 headset, and it is much more comfortable and doesn't attract perspiration in.the heat of summer I especially like the iPhone volume control on the set so the phone can stay in my pocket. I listen to recorded books, not music, so I can't speak to fidelity issues. I use them walking, mowing, and riding a noisy team bus. (I'm a college volleyball coach.) I have a hearing disorder that makes it difficult for me to discriminate among multiple sounds, especially voices, so these are just the ticket to block out other voices while I listen to a book. Highly recommended.

I think a lot of people misunderstand active noice cancelling. It doesn’t block out all noise, it cancels out certain noises like consistent rumbles, etc. You won’t hear those as much with these in, but you’ll hear a lot of sudden noises around you. However, paired with whatever you’re listening to, these create a great uninterrupted experience. I love them.

I purchased the Bose QC20 to use with my Android devices during travel. I use them to listen to music, audiobooks and podcasts while in public areas and in airplanes. I have used traditional in-ear and over-the-ear headphones before and find the QC20 simply astonishing. It took me a little while to get used to the muffled down sounds of the surrounding environment (which keeps me grounded and aware of important announcements or of someone trying to get my attention) while the noise cancelling technology simply 'elevates' the sounds from my device (quality, clarity). I highly recommended the QC20 headphones. .They are expensive but you only have to turn them on to hear why.

Best Earbud Style Noice Canceling Headphones Yet

    Posted .

These phones just went on the market today, and I've been listening to them most of the day. They perform as advertised, with background noise pretty much disappearing the moment you switch the power on, very similar to what happens with the QC15 over-the-ear model that I also own. Having an effective noise canceling design in a very small, compact set of headphones has been somewhat of a holy grail for years, as making room for the bigger cans in one's carry-on bag is not always easy or convenient -- and storage space behind an airplane seat is becoming increasingly scarce. Prior in-ear models I've purchased from other brands have performed minimally well, and do not eliminated airplane noise nearly as well as my QC15's. So far, these QC20i's seem to cut noise at least as well as the 15's, which is exactly what I was hoping for. Comfort was another concern, as other in-ear designs seem to depend a lot on passive noise reduction by cramming the phones into one's ear canals. This is not a desirable method on long flights, and these designs tend to irritate my ears after about an hour. By contrast, the QC20i's earpiece design has been very comfortable so far because they sit at the outside entrance of the ear canals instead of being jammed into them. I figured the StayHear silicone tips would be identical to other Bose in-ear phones, but they are not. These have a more conical shape that uses a more gentle method of attenuating outside sounds, and they work splendidly. The angle of the earpieces is also different from other Bose StayHear designs, and this seems to have the welcome effect of applying less pressure to the outer ear area. As a result, I'm finding them to be more comfortable than my IE2's and Bose bluetooth headset. How do they sound? So far, I'm very pleased with them. Bass response is very good (better than the IE2's#, and are comparable to the QC15s #I need to do a side-by-side comparison to be sure#. These have a very pleasing, wide-range sound that one would not expect from in-ear phones. $299 seems pretty expensive at first glance, but I will say that the construction quality of these phones seems to be very high, with thick, durable-looking wires and careful, thoughtful design in all of its parts. The carrying case is made out of a neoprene-like material that reminds me of wetsuits used by surfers. It's roughly 5" x 3" in size, and is a small fraction of the size of the QC15's case -- a big deal to those of us who like to travel lightly. There's even an inside pocket to put the two other sizes of earpieces. I'm using the smaller size now, but the medium size might work better for noise reduction on a plane --- nice to have a convenient way to bring them along just in case. My only negative comment so far is that the battery/control module is only a couple of inches away from the audio source when connected. This makes for a rather awkward bundle of hardware to manage, as the battery sort of hangs off the player like a dongle. Bose must have their reasons for why they put it so close to the connection point #easier to put in your pocket and still leave enough cable length to reach your head, perhaps#, but it's still somewhat bothersome, and I wish they had provided more cable length between the battery and the source device -- maybe 6" or so would seem optimum. The very short cable seems to bend more severely than necessary when placed in your pocket, which makes me worry about straining the internal wires. I hope this was taken into account in the design. The only test remaining is to see how these work on an airplane. Based on what I've experienced so far, I just might leave my QC15's at home on my next overseas flight!

I work in a cubicle surrounded by co-workers on speaker phones and computer conference calls. It's now possible for me to hear an entire conference call through my computer using these earphones with noise cancellation. Everyone on the call can also hear me through the microphone on the earphones. When I'm not on a call, I use these earphones to listen to music (or listen to nothing) and the noise cancellation is unbelievable - even blocks higher ranges of voice and loud laughing. Sometimes I use these at night to block my spouse's snoring - only problem is, I don't hear the alarm clock in the morning if I do that - which proves how much noise is blocked with these earphones. If I want to let in outside noise while listening to music, with just the push of a button I can.

By pushing a toggle button on side of in line wired controller, you can hear voice etc, around you, then push it again to knock out almost all sounds except what you are playing. Great feature, wish they had that on my new Bose QC25s. IPod touch (size of iPhone4) will fit case with ear buds making it very compact. Have not had them fall out of ears yet, despite not as secure as an over/behind ear or neckband during vigorous exercise. Wires are unique black & gray spiraled design which sticks out. Like them when do not want to have full size headphones on. First feature I mentioned improves safety when walking or biking in cities to hear traffic approaching. Get them, no regrets for my $300.

    Best Noise-Cancelling Earbuds

    |
    Posted .

These earbuds are fantastic. I own these as well as the over-ear QC-15s and I find that they both behave about the same, which is extraordinarily well. These can be worn for hours without discomfort, unlike the apple buds given out with iPhones, and I find that they aren't as bulky as the overears. They were a bit challenging to learn how to put in at first... but it isn't a problem once you get used to it. I tend to prefer these for day-to-day use when out and about town because you can toggle the noise-cancelling feature, but the over-ear design for plane travel.
