Great headphones for sound but the noise canceling device is a bit big. I plug it into my phone to watch movies and have to holds that part in my hand behind the phone when watching a movie on the train heading to work. Besides that, when in the subway I barely hear anything that is going on around me. I put them on, switch the notice canceling feature on and block out everyone. Put on a good movie and my commute ends up becoming a great travel. I recommend this to anyone who commutes on a bus, train or plane. It does a great job for it's size and capability. A must buy for this who don't like outside noise. It's perfect for the park as well or laying in bed with your significant other while he/she is watching tv you can enjoy what you want on a mobile or tablet without interruptions.

I was looking for headphones I could wear while riding around on my motorcycle. I was hesitant to purchase these headphones because of the price (This is a lot of money to spend on earbuds) but, I am glad I purchased them. They have performed even better than expected. Outside noise is significantly reduced and they comfortably under my helmet. Now I can listen to music or radio at a reasonable volume instead of cranking up the decibels to drown out road, wind, and engine noise. I also use the headphones when I am watching TV on my iPod at home, they eliminate all background noise, allowing me to focus on the show I am watching.

I purchased these on the recommendation of several of my co-workers, as we all travel frequently, and have dealt with noisy or distracting airport terminals and planes. They were worth every penny. They come with a nice, 3x5x1 1/2 inch, zip-close carrying case, that fits the headset itself, the charging cord, and two extra sets of flexible ear inserts--perfect for travel. My sole complaint is that the case itself has the Bose logo in clear grey on the outside of it, which made me worry that they would be easy targets for theft (the logo is also much more subtly marked on the zipper tag, so I'd have preferred that be all). The set itself has an inline volume control and mute/pause, and a clip to attach to your clothing with an overall length of 4-4 1/2 feet, so plenty of room to tuck into a pocket while moving, or to move around if your device is sitting nearby. After purchasing them, I tested them at home, by having my son ring the doorbell and letting my 4 large dogs bark. Without the noise dampening, I could hear them; once I turned the noise dampening on, wow! Almost completely gone, even sitting 4 feet away from the front door where they were barking and at the same volume. We then traded, and my son tested them the same way, then with me clapping 1 foot in front of him, yelling and banging on a pan in the kitchen. We took them outside, as the LifeFlight helicopter went over the house, and as emergency sirens were sounding nearby. My son wore them as we drove across town to a birthday party amid honking horns and traffic noise. Again, each time, the background noise suppression was fantastic. During my next travel, I had a family of 3 crying, toddler age children sitting behind me on the plane-- turned on noise suppression, and not only did that disappear, so did the noise of the plane itself. I used them in the hotel, and they blocked out the noisy people above and outside the door. I highly recommend these in noisy circumstances as a result, and issue only this word of caution-- these are Not the earbuds I would recommend for working out out-of-doors or while driving, as they will completely block out the noise of other people or animals approaching, sirens, and honking. Well worth the money.

Very effective noise cancelling. Comfort was good too.

I had a pair that I purchased over 5 years ago and the noise isolation on/off button broke. I decided to keep them rather then trade in because they still work but can't turn on/off noise cancellation. I was headed on a VERY long trip with very long flights so I wanted to be able to toggle it on and off without taking out the buds each time. These are really some of the best noise cancellation earbuds on the market. Highly recommended. Battery on them lasts a long time and (unlike the wireless QC30, which I also own) you can charge them while you use them so you don't have to stop using them to charge.

I had never used the Bose noise-cancelling earbuds or headphones because of the cost. I have a co-worker who is very loud and so I thought I'd give them a try. Incredible. I use the earbuds because I wear eyeglasses and these are comfortable and do the trick. I hear virtually no outside noise.

I also have the over-the-ear Bose noise-cancelling headphones, and have been using them on airplanes for a while. I didn't think the earbuds would do a good job of cancelling airplane noise, but I was pleasantly surprised that they do in fact work well.

Bose lived up to its reputation. These are excellent and are;by far, much better than the pair of (over the ear) noise canceling headphones I have. Although they are pricey I feel that they are worth the cost!

Used the QuietComfort 20 Ear phones on most recent trip abroad. Thery worked quite well in the noise cancelling department. I never have liked the fit of these earpieces . This style has been used on previouls Bose Headphone models. Maybe it is the size of my ear, can not get the good fit required as they easily fall out with the smallest tug on the chord. Battery life so so. Make sure to recharge before each use as they do not hold a charge if not used for long periods of time

How many times have I been on an airplane when I learn every aspect of someone's life listening (without wanting to) as they go through the details to their seat mate? Music, iPods, books on tape, do not shut this out. At the gym, 2 people beside my treadmill are spending their time gossiping about someone's wife or brother. These WORK, they cancel ambient noise, stay in place and I keep them with me all the time. I can easily isolate myself, there is no comparison to all the other ones (CHEAPER) that I have tried. Bite the bullet, pay the money, and you will never go back. Bose has my vote!

Wow, these Bose noise cancelling headphones exceeded my expectations. I fly a lot for business and these are awesome at cancelling out all of the jet engine noise, noisy fellow passengers and crying babies. I can use them with music or just quiet. The perfect solution for removing noise (and stress) from travel!

The noise-canceling is amazing. Just as good as it's big brother the QC25s. However, the advantage these have is that they're more portable and in my opinion sound a bit better in the Treble region than the QC25s. The only reason I give them 4 stars is because I feel the sound isn't $300 good for ear buds. I do however prefer these to the QC25s though. Excellent job Bose!

I love these compact earphones. Same great sound quality as my Bose headphones. So glad I purchased these. So easy to take along in my purse. I love the option of small, medium or larger comfort fit ear molds.

These headphones have a very rich, clear sound, are very comfortable and the noise cancellation works great! I bought them because the earphones included with my iPhone would start hurting within a few minutes of wearing them and I wanted to get a set that would be very comfortable to wear (I wore them listening to music for ~ 1 1/2 hours without any discomfort on a recent plane trip). would have a great sound and would have noise cancellation, for those times I need to be on the phone to tech support in a noisy environment. Yes, their price is high but they're worth it!

These ear buds are so incredible. I wasn't sure if they would do what I wanted, but they certainly out preformed my expectations. I would recommend this product to anyone and not think twice about it. The price is a little high but I am completely sold on them. Sound quality and noise canceling is amazing.

I was skeptical about buying this in ear noise canceling earphones due to size and doubt on performance. I tried them at an airport on a travel trip and decided to buy them when I got back just in case I wanted to return them. I took them on my first air travel trip a week later and found out they work just as good as the over the ear that I used to bring with me. I love their performance and the easy of travel, no more bulk to cary with me. I'm still not sure on durability for the plug and storage seems to bend the cord a lot and I'm afraid it will break with time.

This was my first foray in higher priced headphone purchasing and I was a little let down. I purchased these headphones based on reviews and Bose's reputation for excellent sound and while they are excellent at noise cancellation, look for something else if you are expecting great sound quality. While noise cancellation is in effect, the sound is enhanced and sounds sharp in an offensive way to my ears. Certain songs with S sounding consonants sound painfully sharp to my ears. Siri is super quiet even with the volume turned up on these headphones, as are alarms and notification chimes on the iPhone. When you turn off the noise cancellation, you are basically listening to Beats headphones with less drowning bass and slightly better treble. I cant even hear harmony in songs well with these, the foreground is pronounced, while the background is diminutive at best. I expected too much I guess, I really should have tried these in store instead of purchasing on line. I would recommend these to people who want small portable noise cancellation headphones (you don't need to be listening to music to have the noise cancellation in effect) but aren't audiophiles because while the noise cancellation is great, the sound just isn't. Also the rectangular remote for the noise cancellation is at an odd place on the cord and is rather awkward.

These headphones have fantastic sound quality. The Noise cancellation works perfectly. I can listen all day at work without recharging and they are very comfortable.
