These work very well in an airplane to dampen plane noise. In the office you get dead silence.

I bought these for airline business travel and they really work to block out the engine noise and the crying babies.

I'm no expert but these sound pretty darn good and the noise cancellation is quite impressive. They don't cancel sound 100% but they take the din of an airplane and chatter of annoying, err, fellow passengers to a more than tolerable level. Once you have audio playing it's even better, you can barely hear anything other than your music (or movie or whatever it is you're listening to) and I've found that I can keep the volume much lower than with other headphones since they do such a great job quieting the ambient noises. Are they worth $300? Yes, I believe they are! Previously I shied away from these because of the price but I am so happy I finally bit the bullet and bought them. So if that price tag is too high for you, I highly recommend saving up until it isn't because they are well worth it!

Can't believe how quiet a plane ride can be while listening to music.

I used these on a transatlantic flight and couldn't be happier. I was bummed that these aren't available cordless, but that proved to be a non-issue. I tad cheaper would be nice, but the were comfortable and had good sound quality. Case is good and holds the other 'stuff' you need in a compact way.

I bought these due to frequent air travel. Only complaint is the volume level. Buy a small booster amp.

I have had the QC15 for 13+ years and loved them. However, after 13 years I was ready for a new set. I went with the QC25 as the natural follow-on and have been happy with them. I think the bass in the QC15 originally was better but, overall the QC25 are wonderful headphones. I bought the Android spec model and really enjoy using them for telcons and travel. The case is better then the old QC15. I also like that the QC25 has "fail to wire" sound if the batteries run out (the old QC15 would just stop working). Overall, I'm very happy with these and recommend them to people all the time. I also still have and use my QC15, QC20, and IE1 and highly recommend Bose over other brands.

I bought these headphones to use with my phone on flights, the office and public places. They are lightweight and have a great sound but they will make your old mp3 sound bad, they are very unforgiving when reproducing low quality music. But on the other hand, feed them a high quality signal and you will be listening to your old songs as if they were new ones. Cons: not a great ear seal around the ear if you wear glasses.

Great sound, no outside noises. I used ear buds exclusively for some time, but they started to cause irritation. These headphones are light, comfortable to wear, and give me the sound quality that I want.
