Tip of ear bud broke.
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, I like them, but the tip broke off the other day. They are out of warranty, so I'm out of luck. I liked them while they lasted less than 2 years from purchase. Beware the tip is a weak point.

Posted .I'm glad you like the QuietComfort Earbuds II overall, Jacki! If one of the detachable eartips has split, this can be replaced. However, if you mean the earbud has physically snapped, then the earbuds will indeed need exchanging, the cost of which will depend on their warranty status. Our customer support team is happy to assist with this, if required. Warm regards, Fiona M. - Bose Customer Support

ANC is Best in Breed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If your goal is to get the quietest ANC possible, then these earbuds are for you. When I compared QCE2 to the Sony flagship WF-1000-XM4, Bose filtered out all the frequencies I was still hearing on the Sony. They are so quiet, I'd suggest caution when walking or running, as you will not hear nearby vehicles. You can, however, create modes with less ANC to compensate for this. Audio quality is at least as good as the Sony. Lack of LDAC codec or 360 spatial audio didn't seem to make any difference. Same is true for Dolby Atmos. Bose sound quality is equally as good. I do use Ultra high quality streaming from Amazon Unlimited. What they lack is touch control features like Sony's Speak-to-Chat or Quick Attention. The Bose Music App is the weakest link, offering only basic functions. I often had difficulty getting it to connect with earbuds. Sometimes needed to re-start my phone in order for it to connect. Voice prompts are lame, but will probably improve with future updates. The QCE2 are smaller and far more comfortable than the Sony, but you can still feel them on. The added ring on the Bose buds did make them feel securely attached to my ears. Rumors is that Sony's new buds are right around the corner. Might be worth the wait, but for now, I think the Bose QCE2 are the way to go, especially if you value ANC the most.

Outstanding BOSE sound quailty
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We’ve used a few earbuds in the past, always different brands and were never totally satisfied with the sound quality, “especially me with some hearing issues”. Bose has come out with a new model of the Quietcomfort earbuds, the “II” model was just released, and we decided to give them a try. Unboxing and setup: The earbuds come in a very small Bose logoed box, and inside there’s a charger case, “with the earbuds nestled inside”, a USB C charging cable, sm/lg eartips, sm/lg stability bands “the medium was already on the buds”, a quick start guide and a small but surprisingly thick manual in multiple languages. The first thing I did was to plug in the charging cable “have plenty of USB C ones already so didn’t bother with the OEM one, let them charge up and proceeded to start syncing. We also installed the Bose Music Android App before proceeding. Synching on our Samsung phones was simple, just open the lid to the charger, press the button on the back of the case/charger so the blue light blinks on the front then search/pair on your phone. Once we did that and the Bose app found them it immediately showed there was an update, so we let that proceed “which does take a few minutes so just be patient”. After the earbuds were paired it was time to try them out. Now these buds are a little larger than the Samsung ones we have “not by much” and they do stick down a little more than them too, but once you find your fit they are just as comfortable “maybe a little bit better IMO”, they didn’t feel like they were going to fall out easily and the app has a test you can run to be sure they are seated correctly. I do like to that they don’t actually turn on till one of them “right for us” is inserted and then you’ll hear the voice prompt confirming and battery charge. Use: We were both totally blown away by the sound quality, there’s even plenty of bass for us, and having any bass in a earbud is a pretty tough feat. Naturally it’s not chest pounding bass but it’s more than enough to give the feeling of nice deep bass, and that’s adjustable in the EQ of the App. We also like that you can adjust the noise cancellation can be adjusted from 0 “none” to 100 “max cancellation”, with it turned up to 100 I couldn’t make out what my wife was saying standing right in front of me, the same with her when she was wearing them, which was a little odd but easily adjusted so you can at least make out some background noise. These would be perfect in a very noisy environment as long as you don’t need to hear what’s going on around you. There are also multiple presets “modes” that you can pick from and even customize your own. There’s also a setting in the noise cancellation that uses what BOSE calls “Active Sense”, it’s under the “Aware” mode, and it will adjust the cancellation for loud noises so it will protect your hearing from very loud noises. It actually worked pretty well when I ran the vacuum cleaner, I could tell the sound was muffled but as soon as I turned it off I could hear the background noises again, “pretty neat”. I went outside and did some light yard work and only once did one of the buds come out a little, and that caused the sound to pause, so you know it’s not inserted correctly, an easy slight twist put it right back in. I contributed that to sweat running around my ears as it was 108F out and after a few minutes out in that anyone is going to be sweating. I’ve never had earbuds fit as well as these, most of the time I would just quit using them halfway through a project as they kept popping out due to sweat. As for call quality, neither of us had issues hearing calls, everyone said they heard us clearly and even with my hearing issues I could easily make out what everyone was saying. I will say I wish the equalizer could be adjusted for each earbud individually. My right ear is my troublemaker, and it would be nice to be able to adjust the equalizer separately so I could fine tune them. These actually sound much better than my Siemens hearing aids, and they don’t cost nearly as much. Listening to music is no compairson with them, and I usually use a full headphone to get full sound with the Bose I can get the same effect. The controls are easy to use, the outside of the main piece that sticks out “sort of a oblong pill shape” , is the touch sensitive control. You can swipe up/down for volume, tap twice to advance track, three taps reverses and one tap pauses, pretty simple. You can answer calls with a single tap, and The only issue I had there is the touch area is very sensitive and it’s very easy to bump when you reach up to adjust the buds or try a function. Grabbing them gently by the sides and not bumping the touch sensitive area can be a little difficult at times but I’m sure it just takes some practice, but you have to be careful till you get used to them. Conclusion: We’ve never owned earbuds that actually sound as good as these, and the noise cancellation is simply amazing. I find myself wearing these most of the day as they are comfortable enough to forget you are wearing them, “I just have to remember not to have the noise cancellation up too high or I’ll never hear my wife calling for me, vice versa too”. If you are looking for a premium set of earbuds, and yes they do cost more than others but you are getting BOSE sound quality that goes with that. I won’t be using any of my other buds as they will just not stand up to these in any way that I can see, and for me, the sound quality is just unmatched.

Sound is Great But What is the Case ?
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. From the original [unfinished release product] of the quiet comfort earbuds to the quiet comfort earbuds 2 is quite the upgrade with the size of the ear buds, how comfortable they are, and how all the shortcuts are Already on the headphones. (Play,Pause, volume, EQ, next song) Bose did a great job releasing these headphones that didn’t require their customers to wait weeks and months for bugs to be fixed and shortcuts to be added. Now , because of my 4 star rating. For the Price of 300$ i expect Bose to do what their customers want; and the issue I find most people will have is the case. By the design of the case , it looks like they cut some corners to lessen the durability of the case it’s self… save money. It has no wireless charging. There is no button to open the case. Case opens to easily Magnets don’t assist the closed case No case battery life LED indicator When Bose Released their Soundsport Free headphones 4+ years their case was perfect! Heavy duty plastic. Tight and bulky button to easily push that would open the case. When the case was closed it was supported my small magnets. I don’t see this case last thing me for two years. Due to my profession, I expect a lot more debris and lint (from being in Jean pockets) to pile up inside of the case. I also expect the case to go dead more often since there isn’t a multiple light indicator on the case showing how much battery life is left in the case.

Posted .Hello Gary,
We love that you find the sound, and comfort of the earbuds great. The charging case has two indicators for battery level, the one on the inside is for the earbuds, The case light is above the Bose logo on the outside, to check case battery level. The user guide here https://bose.life/3dLlUXB starting from page 32 helps with battery, and page 37 shows the case indicator light location.
If you have any questions or require support with the earbuds, please reach out https://bose.life/38DNELy as we'd love to help.

No Bose earbuds for me ever again
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These earbuds have been nothing but trouble since i bought them. They're constantly disconnecting from my phone. The right one barely has any sound at all, and I've tried doing everything i can to fix it. So now I'm stuck with just the left one. The sound isnt the greatest. Even when the right earbud worked they just were too low. I have 9 year old beats earbuds that sound better than these do. What a huge disappointment. Bose usually has such great quality with their stuff, but not these. I wont be buying bose earbuds again.

My number 1 Listening Accessory
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The earbuds come packaged in a small box that has a marketing wrap around it. The cardboard wrap features an image of the earbuds, their name, and some additional identifying information. The box includes the earbuds, their charging case, additional ear tips, stability bands, a charging cable, a quick start guide, and a safety sheet. The first thing I did when taking the earbuds out of the packaging was to size up the ear tips. Usually, manufacturers will include medium-sized ear tips on the earbuds. I've always had an issue with earbuds fitting my ears comfortably and securely. I thought the pre-installed ear tips felt a little tight so I swapped them out for the smaller ones. I would recommend this as an initial step for any earbud user since the fit really contributed a lot to the sound quality you experience. My main use case was mobile gaming. I've been playing first-person shooter, multiplayer, online games with friends lately and I've found that this actually ends up being a great endurance test for headphones. I have actually burned up two sets of very expensive headphones while mobile gaming so finding a set of earbuds that can hang with me has been impressive. The QC II earbuds have quickly become my 'go-to' headphones for my personal gaming enjoyment. Battery Life The earbuds had a charge to them out of the box (around 50%) so I didn't worry about connecting them to power right away. I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to use them for several hours before needing to charge them. I have had no issue getting the 6-hour battery life from a single charge. In my spare time, I enjoy playing mobile games with friends and it's not unusual for us to play for extended periods of time. The QC II earbuds have done a great job with long periods of use. Sweat and Water Resistant As I mentioned, I have destroyed headphones through the course of playing games online. Part of the reason for this is that my ears actually produce a lot of heat and sweat while I game. This is why I switched from over-head headphones to earbuds while gaming. Even after the switch, I still find that sweat can collect if I have a particularly long gaming session. The QC II earbuds have done a great job with staying dry and being easy to clean up. They are only rated IPX4, which means they will do ok with minor splashes and drips but if you get caught in a downpour, you should take them out. Bluetooth Connectivity The QC II earbuds are powered by Bluetooth 5.3, which is the newest Bluetooth spec (released in July 2021). I've been using these headphones with my M1 iPad Pro mostly. I've had no problems with them connecting and staying connected. At the same time that I have the earbuds connected, I am actively also using a Bluetooth gaming controller. I've not had any issues with the earbuds disconnecting or cutting out on me. They are very stable as far as the Bluetooth is concerned and they are immediately recognized by my iPad when I put them in. One of the things I love about these earbuds is that I don't have any problems with other devices trying to connect to them at the same time I'm using them for gaming. Noise Cancellation & Transparency While noise cancellation is usually something that a lot of people want so they can isolate themself from the rest of their surrounding area, I prefer to use hear-through -- also known as Transparency or ActiveSense -- mode so that I can hear myself talk. One of my favorite things about mobile gaming is the community of friends that I play with. We have conversations while we play and because I have hearing loss I feel like I am yelling most of the time when I'm talking with them -- unless I have hear-through mode. There are very few headphones that have this feature as a part of their noise cancellation modes. The QC II earbuds are one of them (as ActiveSense). My AirPods Pro earbuds have it (as Transparency mode), too, but I actually think it works better on the QC II earbuds. The standard noise cancellation works very well, too, but the QC II earbuds really shine with the ActiveSense mode. Microphones As I mentioned, I use these earbuds to carry on conversations while I play with my friends. They have commented that they can hear me very well. In fact, they say that my voice comes through just as clearly as if I were in the same room with them. The quality of the microphones in these earbuds plays a huge part in that. The App One of the things I like about the companion app is that it's available, but not in the way. When I first started using the earbuds I used the app to calibrate them and to make sure the firmware was up to date. I will check in with the app every once in a while to make sure that everything is the way I want it but I don't have to have it running all the time in order to get the most out of my listening experience while I'm gaming. Sound Quality While I've really enjoyed these earbuds for all the premium features they offer, one of the best reasons to use these earbuds is for their pure, exquisite sound quality. For several months now I've swapped between several different headphones and earbuds trying to find the 'best' sound experience. I stopped swapping when I started using the QC II earbuds. They have made it possible for me to enjoy the nuances in our game -- such as footsteps, gunfire, animation sound effects, and other subtle sounds -- as much as I enjoy listening to music when I'm not gaming. Just to make my point clear -- I've been using other premium wireless earbuds, over-ear headphones, and gaming headphones that range in price from (150-600). The QC II earbuds are a proven winner in my book. Comfort While I mentioned the 'fit' early in my review, I want to comment directly on how comfortable these earbuds are. In the 20+ years I've been using headphones, I've never found a set of earbuds this comfortable. They are so lightweight and fit my ear so well that I forget that I'm wearing them. I honestly still can't believe that I am enjoying earbuds this much because usually they irritate me after a short period of time and I cast them aside. I look forward to wearing these earbuds and using them on a daily basis -- for hours on end. These earbuds are magical. They check all the boxes for me and have become my 'go-to' listening accessories for most activities. They are a fantastic investment -- especially if you enjoy mobile gaming.

The Best ANC Earbuds I’ve Used. Period.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Right out of the box, it’s apparent that the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II are something special. The earbuds in the case remind me of glossy black gems in a jewelry box. Download the Bose Music app and it walks you through pairing and naming your new buds. Then it will download any available firmware updates – mine only took a few minutes – and you’re all set. Getting the right fit is critical for comfort, sound quality, and noise cancelling. The Bose Music app has clearly illustrated steps that walk you through selection of the proper ear tips and stability bands. With three sizes to select from, finding the right fit was easy. Don’t be afraid to mix sizes. A proper seal is necessary for noise cancelling and full sound reproduction. Bose accomplishes the seal with the unique cone shape of a very soft silicone tip that rests against the ear canal, as opposed to in it. The result is a very comfortable earbud that can be worn for hours at a time without irritation. Bose has done a great job on customizable controls at a (multi) touch, press, or swipe of the earbud surface. Paired with my S22 Ultra, I can adjust volume, pause/play, select previous or next track, initiate/answer calls, access the digital assistant, and select the desired level of noise cancelling. Sound quality of the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II is impressive. They are capable of producing distortion-free sound as big as you want. And at the same time, listening to quieter passages, you can make out a musician’s fingers moving across the frets of his guitar, or a musician in the pit drawing a breath. They have the powerful, deep bass I’ve come to expect from Bose products, and the mids and highs are beautifully reproduced and all combine to deliver a music experience that is uniquely Bose. If you’ve ever owned Bose headphones, you know what I mean. The most impressive feature of the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II is the noise cancelling. There are two default modes: “Aware” and “Quiet.” “Aware” plays your audio while also allowing in the sounds of the world around you. Ambient sounds are natural sounding, and this is the best implementation of this function I’ve experienced. “Quiet” is where the magic happens. The noise cancelling of these buds is spectacular and has to be heard to be believed. I’ve gotten to use them in a busy office and while doing yardwork (backpack blower, string trimmer, lawn mower, etc.), and the world just fades away. I enjoy them in the office with no music playing; I’m left with peace and quiet that allows me to focus on my task. You can program up to four modes of noise cancelling adjustable in 10-step increments. I really appreciate how well the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II fit. As stated previously, they are comfortable for hours at a time. When put on, these earbuds stay put, regardless of my level of activity. With IPX-4 water resistance, I can be confident that a little moisture won’t be the end of them. Earbuds status is communicated in plain language messages. Connection status, battery levels, and operating modes are all announced clearly and eliminate any guesswork. Status notifications can be customized in the Bose Music app. I’ve been using the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II for about a week now, and the case is still recharging my buds. I’m not sure what the battery life is, and I was hoping to be able to include a number in this review, but I haven’t hit the end yet. Documentation indicates the earbuds can be fully recharged three times from a full charge on the case. Speaking of the case, it is a comfortable size and shape, reminiscent of a small/medium river rock. It fits comfortably in the hand and pocket. I’ll say it again: Best earbuds I’ve ever had the pleasure of using.

Finicky- great ANC, terrible phone call quality
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really love these earbuds overall. Multiple size offerings to ensure a good fit. ANC is really good, especially for a bud and the sound quality is amazing. However, these buds cannot be used for phone calls, like ever. The quality is horrible on the other user's side based on every time I've tried to use them. Bluetooth can sometimes be iffy and fail to connect, but this is fairly rare. It is super frustrating when it happens though and you have to reset the buds in their case. My first pair just stopped charging in their case (the only way to charge them) even after cleaning them as Bose recommends. Fortunately, Bose honored their product and sent me an entirely new pair because I was within my warranty. That was awesome and kept me as a customer. It was easy without a bunch of back and forth to get them to make it right. These are really nice for workouts and to sleep in to tune things out. I don't connect to other tech and I'm not a heavy user. I plan to buy the Quiet Comfort Ultra as my next pair to do some heavier lifting and see how the other half lives.

Incredible Fit, Features, and Audio Quality
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having used other audio products from Bose over the years, I had high expectations for this latest offering from them. Having owned and loved QuietComfort over the ear headphones as my go-to audio device, I was excited to have an even more portable option without sacrificing the audio quality that you get with Bose. My experience has been nothing but positive so far. Pros: - The in-ear fit is fantastic. I have 100% confidence when wearing these earbuds that they will not come loose. The default medium-sized tips and stability bands were just right for me, but small and large options are also included. The stability bands are super helpful for a good fit, without impacting comfort. Great design work! - Sound quality is amazing, as you would expect from any Bose product. Both music and podcasts sounded great with excellent bass levels on the default settings (which can be adjusted easily). - The Bose Music app is a helpful companion. Besides being able to add custom modes with varying levels of noise canceling, you can also use the equalizer to tweak bass and treble levels to your liking. It was also helpful when completing the initial software update, giving very clear step-by-step instructions (when to place the earbuds in the case, what the lights would be doing during the update, etc). - Your audio pauses and restarts automatically when earbuds are removed/inserted. Other brands have sensor tech like this but I've never seen it work this well so consistently. - The touch controls are great. Both earbuds let you pause/play with a tap, swipe up and down to adjust volume, and also hold to toggle the noise-canceling. These features felt intuitive and eliminated the need for any learning curve. - The noise-canceling works extremely well, muffling nearby sound, and can easily be toggled off when needed (aware mode). And as mentioned above, the ability to create new modes with varying degrees of noise-canceling is a terrific feature. Cons: - None You are going to pay more for these than basically any other earbuds on the market, but you get what you pay for. The incredible craftsmanship and performance of these earbuds is worth every penny!
