Dont Get if Mostly Used Outside

First, the good parts… Sound is amazing, customizable EQ, ability to customize 8 (4 per ear) touch conteols. However, the bad is unfortunately too negative (for me). Everytime i use them, the audio cuts/chops/skips at least twice within the first 10 min of use. Touch controls are finicky—it often fails to register the correct number of taps; volume cannot be controlled eith a finger slide like on the Sport Earbuds. Also like the Sport, the case has no “pairing mode” button, so any disconnects require putting them back innthe case to reset. And the worst - wind interference. Quiet (noise cancel) mode is completely unusable outside; any wind creates loud, persistent, inexcusable crackling aounds. Aware Mode is slightly btter, but still awful. Off(?) mode us the onlt one even tolerable while using outsife. I want to like these, but the price is nowhere close to being justified considering the flaws.

I'm happy to hear you like the sound and customisable EQ options of your QuietComfort Earbuds! If you find that audio playback is skipping, one quick thing to try is rebooting your mobile device, which can clear up such problems. While the touch controls can be a little unfamiliar to begin with, you should get used to them with use. As for windy environments, I would suggest using Off mode temporarily here, which may also be useful for hearing other sounds around you clearly. I hope this information is useful! I brought this item cause I need something to lay down and watch things on my iPad it affordable price then when I went back on website they went down further so I call Best Buy to try to get a price adjustment and the girl said that I can not. Very disappointed. That’s why I gave a 3 star. The product is great. But the customer service SUCKS

Great sound and comfort, but wow, that notification voice that screams intp your ear is awful. Very jarring when you're listening to something and are interrupted by a LOUD voice saying, 'VOICE AWARE ON' or '100% POWER or other random notifications. Option to turn off this was removed and replaced with a factory setting that is fixed. Deal breaker.

Hi Betsy, I'm happy to hear you like the sound and comfortable fit of your QuietComfort Earbuds! It's true that the voice notifications cannot be disabled on this particular product. However, any announcements will only come up very infrequently, mainly to alert the user to something important. As such, they shouldn't have a considerable impact on the user's overall experience. I hope this information is useful! Warm regards, Fiona M. - Bose Customer Support bose

Annoying voice prompts can't be turned off

Why is no one mentioning the annoying voiceover prompts that can't be shut off and are set at a permanently fixed volume? This is the same type of feature used for disability assistance, but it's unnecessary and should be changeable in the Bose QCE app. Any time you put them in, you have to wait for the voiceover prompts to go through the motions of confirming battery life and connection status. I believe it also notifies you of low battery percentage, but I haven't used them for long enough to confirm. A simple "beep" would do? It's completely unnecessary and is an option that SHOULD be possible to change in the Bose QCE app. However, it is stated that voiceover is not able to be changed for this specific product in the customer help forums. For reference, see the link below. https://support.bose.com/s/article/enabling-or-disabling-voice-prompts-quietcomfort-earbuds?language=en_US I'll probably return for this reason alone. It's such a simple thing to fix with an update and clearly it doesn't bother enough people to be mentioned in any of the reviews here. However, it is ABSOLUTELY something that should be mentioned since it cannot be changed...for whatever reason.

Pairing Issues Tanks the "Affordable" Option

Oh man, when put next to Bose's Ultra model these just don't compare. I expected a slight difference in noise cancellation and sound quality--which I think there was--but the pairing/connectivity issues were really the reason these were not worth keeping. They are a decent option if you are looking for something more affordable within the Bose family... but I feel like there has to be a model under a different brand that skips over the pairing issues and has comparable sound in a similar price range. I will be going for to the QuietComfort Ultra (2nd gen) next.

Sound quality was great, however they were larger that I thought. I wanted them for sleeping and these stuck out too far outside of the ear and hurt. Ended up returning and getting something smaller. If you're not sleeping with them, then they are awesome
