Great sound, got these as replacements to my Sony xm4 buds. Sony failed 2 times each under a year. This is what drove me to the Bose and glad I made the switch.
4 out of 5 and that is really because of what they missed in terms of functionality.
The bad:
Does not have multipoint pairing.
Wireless charging, at first I was kind of willing to let that go but when I found out Bose sold an additional case that offers wireless charging for an extra 40-50 bucks I changed my mind pretty crazy at this price.
Audio volume for calls is low. No matter what you do the other person's voice is low and you may run into issues in busy/noisy places. This is something that has been expressed with Bose via reddit threads and has been an issue since the quiet comfort 2s.
The good:
Fit is great and the noise cancelling is in my opinion better than Sony, these do not fatigue my ears like the sonys did.
Button controls are the same on both ears with the exception of the long press but this is good. The long press can be mapped to changing the modes like quiet or aware and spatial Audi even these can be tailored to remove one of the 3 settings so you don't have to go through extra modes.
Volume is a slide up or down on either bud, play, pause and next /back track is the same on both buds.
You can map the long hold on one or both of the buds to the assistant.

These are pretty awesome! I'm not a sound quality buff, so I can't speak to that, but I have weirdly shaped ears that most earbuds tend to fall out of, and these stay put better than anything else I've tried. Noise cancelling is pretty great, in my opinion. Solid battery life, although they're not super fast-charging. I use them at work and they can easily take me through a 8-9 hour day if I charge them during lunch. Docking a point because about a month into my purchase they started randomly disconnecting from my phone. Reddit investigation leads me to believe that this is probably an issue with the Bose app Bluetooth competing with the phone Bluetooth for connection, and indeed, when I turn off the Bluetooth access on the Bose app and keep it closed, I don't have the issue anymore (so far). Still super annoying, but seems to be a problem with the app rather than the earbuds themselves, so maybe it can be solved by future updates?

Impressive noise canceling with some caveats

My primary use of these headphones is for while I exercise. They are able to achieve a comfortable yet tight fit - which allows for great sound quality and for the noise canceling to work as designed. They also have never felt like they will fall out while I'm moving vigorously. The app allows you to switch between different levels of noise canceling as well as for positional audio - which is pretty wild. You should try it, but I also suspect you'll decide to disable it - because it's really weird to hear louder audio from your left earbud when your head turns to the right. The caveat that I must mention - I had a drop of sweat land on my right earbud, and it caused my headphones to continually cycle between the noise canceling levels (including announcing that it was doing so). This was beyond annoying and took a while to figure out what was causing it. Once I wiped away the sweat, it stopped. I also found that the swipe to control the volume didn't work as well as I would expect. It either didn't notice my intent to adjust or it adjusted way too much and the level hurt my ears.
All of that said, I've never experienced sound quality at this high of a level in earbud. Also, it bears mentioning that I used them for an hour long phone call and the party on the other end couldn't tell I was using earbuds - which is very high praise.

These earphones boast incredible sound quality, sleek design, and impressive comfort, making them a top choice for music lovers. They deliver crisp highs, rich mids, and deep bass that immerse you in every song. The battery life is exceptional, lasting through long commutes and workouts without a hitch. However, despite their many strengths, the noise canceling feature falls short of expectations, allowing a surprising amount of background noise to seep through, which can detract from the experience in noisy environments. Still, for pure audio and design excellence, they're hard to beat.

Have had these for a few months now and use them almost every day for the gym, biking, etc.
Pros:
-Sound quality and noise cancellation are seemingly best in class
-Customizing the fit has been helpful for stability
-Quiet mode and Immersion sound about the same (not sure if that's pro or con, just something to note)
-They look great and are comfortable to wear for extended periods of time
Cons:
-Bluetooth often only connects to one headphone when putting them in
-If you remove one while they're connected, you can only restart music via your phone, the tap function will not recognize pause/play
-Not properly waterproof, have issues in any exposure to moisture where the modes continually cycle making them unusable
-Phone call quality is subpar. I generally have no problem hearing, but the other party on the line has consistently reported they can't hear me
If all you want is to listen to music, the sound quality on these is lovely. However, the basic features on these such as bluetooth connectivity and touch buttons have had major issues since I bought them, which for buds in this price range is extremely disappointing.

I'm happy to hear that you use your QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds almost every day, and that you like their sound quality, noise cancellation and customizable fit!
If you're experiencing Bluetooth connectivity issues, try rebooting your smartphone (which can help), and also try your earbuds in a different environment, to compare performance there. Also, if you remove one earbud while the earbuds are connected, you can easily restart your music by re-inserting the earbud into your ear.
As for the earbuds' water resistance rating, they are rated IPX4, meaning they are protected against splashing water from any direction. I hope this explanation is useful. Lastly, if the person you're speaking to says they cannot hear you, try angling the Bose logo on your earbuds towards your mouth/chin, which will allow for the best mic performance. Also, make sure no headgear is blocking the mic holes on your earbuds.

These are honestly the best headphone I’ve ever had. A side from sometimes one doesn’t connect when taken out of case but I just pop it back in the case and it connects again. The sound quality is very crisp and the noise cancelation you would think u had on a big headset. I can barely hear when I have them in quiet mode. They don’t fall out at the gym and comfortable enough I wear the all day.

These Bose earbuds completely exceeded my expectations. The sound quality is crystal clear with deep bass and crisp highs. The noise cancellation works like magic—even in noisy environments, it blocks out almost everything. They fit comfortably and stay in place, even during workouts. The battery life is great, and the case charges them quickly. If you care about audio quality and comfort, these are worth every dollar

It took a little time to get used to how they felt in my ears, but overall, I love these headphones. Sometimes there are some connection issues with my iPhone. I love that I can chance out the rubber bits that go in your ear to make it fit well, and the noise cancelling is the best I've ever had in in-ear headphones.

I love the headphones, they last longer than expected, have great sound proofing and fit well enough i dont have to worry anout then falling out of my ears. Very high quality sound. That being said idk what cheaper headphones sound like so i cant exactly justify the price. Also if you are trying to sync them to multiple devices i have on multiple occasions needed to reset them and pair them again because they get confused and wont give out any audio

Compared to the Beats Wireless Pro and the Beats Fit Pro, these have better base and they stay in your ears more snug. They don’t hurt my ears more than other earphones. The battery lasts quite a long time compared to any of the earphones that I have owned. I wish that Bose sold more color options through Best Buy. I wish the there was a noise cancellation feature while you’re on the phone though. I wish that I can give it 4.5 stars though.

Bose QuietComfort Earbuds Review: Unrivaled Audio

When diving into the world of true wireless earbuds, it's hard to ignore the sleek and innovative design of the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds. These in-ear marvels are not just earbuds; they are your personal oasis of sound. If you are not technically inclined, worry not; this review is tailored to translate high-tech features into everyday listening experiences.
Unboxing the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds, you're greeted with a premium case that is robust yet pocketable, doubling as a charging hub for your earbuds. It ensures that these tiny acoustic gems are both secure and powered for multiple listening sessions. Now, let's compare these to your previous companions, the second-generation AirPod Pros.
Design and Comfort:
Where the AirPods Pro adopts a minimalist, one-size-fits-most approach with a stem design, the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds take comfort to a whole new level. They sport a more pronounced look, with different-sized ear tips and stability bands to ensure you have the perfect fit. This might seem trivial, but a secure fit is paramount—not only for comfort during extended periods of use but also for optimal noise cancellation and sound quality.
Sound Quality:
Speaking of sound, Bose has been a heavyweight in audio for decades, and they showcase their prowess with these earbuds. When you first listen to your favorite tracks, there's a noticeable depth and clarity that stands out. The bass is rich and doesn't drown out the mids and highs—something that can happen with lesser earbuds. Voice calls are also crystal clear, both for you and the person on the other end, owing much to the array of microphones and high-quality audio processing.
Compared with your AirPods Pro, the sound from the Bose earbuds feels fuller and more expansive. It's akin to having a concert hall elegantly shrunk and fitted into your ears. The detail in instrumental separation is exquisite, making you rediscover subtle nuances in the music you thought you knew by heart.
Noise Cancellation:
Noise cancellation is a colossal feature for true wireless earbuds. While the AirPods Pro does a fine job of muting the world, the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds elevate noise cancellation to an art form. They utilize a technology that Bose calls 'Acoustic Noise Cancelling'. This system continuously measures and reacts to outside noise, producing an opposite signal to cancel it out, which in lay terms means they essentially 'erase' the noise around you.
The result is an almost eerie silence that envelops you the moment you activate the noise cancellation feature. You're able to adjust the level of noise cancellation through touch controls or the Bose Music app, tuning your environment to your preference. Silence becomes your canvass on which your music can paint its picture with undisturbed strokes.
Battery Life and Connectivity:
While the Bose earbuds may not lead the pack in terms of battery life, offering up to six hours of playback with an additional 12 hours from the case, they are certainly on par with the market's expectations and just a bit shy of the AirPods Pro's longevity. However, what they lack in battery life, they compensate for with robust and stable Bluetooth connectivity, ensuring your audio experience isn't marred by unexpected dropouts or pairing hiccups.
Final Thoughts:
Is the Bose QuietComfort the best-sounding pair of in-ear earbuds out there? For many audiophiles and everyday users alike, the answer may very well be a resounding 'yes'. They combine superior comfort, unmatched noise cancellation, and exceptional sound quality to deliver a truly immersive audio experience. While they are an investment, your ears (and your soul) will thank you for the premium sound landscape they reside in. The term 'QuietComfort' isn't just a name; it's a promise—a promise of tranquility and auditory bliss that Bose delivers on with unwavering confidence.

I love the sound quality, the fit, and the battery life. The only reason I gave it a 4 was because I sweat a lot when I workout, and every time I adjust them it pauses the music. There should be an option to turn this feature off in the app.

These wireless earbuds are exceeding my expectations since opening them this week. The sounds, fit and compact nature are the primarily reasons why I have been satisfied so far. Firstly, the sound is superior to most other earbuds that I have used and while pairing with the companion app the user can adjust any aspect of the sound and pick from sound profiles that fit my needs. Setting up the app was super easy too, after installing the app, my phone picked up the earbuds immediately and began walking me through how to attain the proper fit in the earbuds. When it comes to fit a neat thing that Bose has done is giving 2 options in terms of adjusting the fit. One piece for inner-ear and another for the upper lobe, each with 3 sizes that are provided (S,M,L). I have never seen earbuds that provide this level of adjustability. Lastly, the carry case that also acts as a charger on the go is built tough. The shell is strong and fits nicely in my pocket without creating too much of a bulge.
If you are looking for earbuds that can fit nearly any ear, produce high quality sound and are made to me used on the go, then these are a perfect match for you. Highly recommended.

The connection sucks. I constsntly have to either repair the earbuds or they disconnect by themselves. Sometimes they wont even connect first try. Ive seen other people saying the same thing. Overall though, esrbuds normally hurt my wars and these ones I can have in for hours thanks to the tips and in general comfort which is what I was looking for. Noise cancellation is superb. Love it. And sound quality is amazing. That suprised me because I have another pair of Bose headphones that have a lack of bass and have more of an acoustic sound and these earbuds really make up for that. However, if youre on the phone with someone they’ll sound pretty low despite the volume being turned all the way up (I’m guessing for sound protection but it would be nice to hear the other person better). If you’re in a really loud area, the other person wont be able to hear you too well. Other than the connection issues and low call volume and people not being able to hear you well, this is a really great product for someone who travels a lot and doesn’t want over ear headphones but wants everything that comes with them. Oh, the batterylife is pretty cool too. 6 hours of charge time.

These earbuds are exactly what I was hoping for and more. The active noise cancelling was my priority when buying due to studying in loud environments and I can’t express in words how amazed I was when first using them. I did a lot of research on different opinions regarding the many options of ANC headphones/earbuds and I do feel that these could be the best in class. It was especially surreal when talking on the phone while using them for the first time, and I felt like I went from a crowded bar to being in the same room with the person I was speaking to. The sound quality is superb and is exactly what I’d expect from Bose (I average 50,000 minutes of music listening a year on Spotify). The battery life is sufficient and I haven’t had any issues. There is often a very low buzz sound in the left ear when not listening to anything during quiet mode (specifically when connected to a device), and I have experienced some minor connectivity issues but nothing substantial. I 100% recommend these, whether it be just for music listening or efficient communication in public.

I did an extensive review online regarding which pair of earbuds would give me the best base. Undoubtedly, these headphones were the best. Provided a crisp sound with a deep base that was punchy, just the way I like it!
Unfortunately though, they are subpar for making calls. There was a ringing noise in the background and the other person I spoke to while using them said that they can hear a lot of background noise and that I sounded very far away.
Ultimately, I think your usage will depend on what you're using it for. They did great in the gym as well. Fits snugly into my ears and I didn't feel like I was going to lose them when I was walking around / working out. The Bose app was great too.

Ultra--Beyond the range of limits; Beyond the ordinary.
Bose Ultra--what a great name for these incredible earbuds--they are BEYOND all other earbuds!
They are so good, my wife liked mine so much I gave them to her and I had to buy a second pair for me. Best ANC earbuds, hands down. Aware mode (transparency) is also great (I thought it was just as good as Apple Pros). Quite comfortable for hours at a time. These buds stay in my ears whether walking, running, eating, sleeping (well, until the pillow knocks one out of place). The sound is RICH and has DEPTH--and the immersive mode brings some music to a completely different level (I have found that some things I listen do not sound as well in immersion mode--so it is really a personal preference). I have not had connectivity issues with these (I did with several pairs of QCIIs). In my opinion, these are by far the best earbuds being sold (and I tried pretty much every option over the last few months--Beats Studio+, Sony XM5, Apple Pro (2), Sony Linkbuds S, and Quiet Comfort II). And they look fantastic--the metal touch bar on each bud adds style!
I do wish they had multipoint connection so that I could connect seamlessly to my iphone/ipad/Mac, but that isn't a necessity (for me) and Bose does give you the ability to choose a device to connect to at a single time. So definitely not a deal breaker for me. I know a lot of people bring up the lack of wireless charging--wired charging works for me so again, not a deal breaker for me (AND Bose now offers a case cover that allows the case to charge wirelessly). My only real complaint is that the Bose app does NOT show the battery percentage of the charging case--you have to rely on the colors of the tiny lights on the case to figure out when you need to charge. (@Bose--y'all really need to fix that!).
So hear is the bottomline:
Sound: 5 out of 5
ANC: 6 out of 5
Aware (Transparency) 5 out of 5
Connectivity: 4 out of 5
Battery: 4 out of 5
Comfort: 4.5 out of 5
These buds truly are ULTRA!

Awesome Noise Cancellation and Immersion
|

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
## What's the difference between the QuietComfort Earbuds II and these Ultra earbuds?
The biggest difference is the addition of "Immersive Audio," or what some companies may refer to as "Spatial Audio" (more details on this later). The QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds include all the features of the QuietComfort Earbuds II, but also add support apt-X Adaptive Hi-Res audio (if your phone supports it; iPhones do not at the time of this review).
## Design
The Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds and accompanying case are bulkier than the Apple AirPods Pro, but are available not only in white but in a black color as well. They feature a shiny black exterior with a matte, dark silver "stem" with the Bose logo that also serves as a touch button. Unlike the AirPods Pro, the QuietComfort Ultra earbuds have an additional silicon "wing" that further helps stabilize the earbuds and secure it in your ear. There are two additional "tips" and "wings" included in the package, so you can experiment and find the proper fit for you.
The case has a matte black finish with the charging port located on the bottom and the pairing button located on the back, much like the AirPods Pro. However, the case is bigger than the case for the AirPods Pro, so it will definitely take up some pocket room.
## Performance
### Active Noise Cancellation
While the Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds are bigger, they also feature bigger Active Noise Cancellation compared to the Apple AirPods Pro. While the focus of the Active Noise Cancellation is on lower frequencies, such as the hum of an airplane or engine, they are also somewhat effective on higher frequencies, such as people talking and babies crying.
My only gripe with these earbuds would be the "whoosh" sound they play every time you place the earbuds in your ear. This is to test the "seal" to your ear canal, but it is somewhat loud and it catches me off guard.
### Immersive Audio
The biggest new feature is the addition of Bose Immersive Audio, which provides a wider sound stage than older earbuds. This makes the music sound like it is coming from all around you, as if you were sitting in the same room as the band. The Bose Immersive Audio feature can be set to two different modes:
- Still: This makes the music sound as if it were coming from in front of your body, even if you turn your head to the side. This can be a little disorienting at first, as it feels like the earbuds are not even there and that you are hearing "real" music in front of you.
- Motion: This setting is a little more comfortable (yet less impressive) as it allows the music to follow your head, so the sound feels like it is always coming from the same direction your nose is facing.
### Aware (with ActiveSense)
As with the previous generation of QuietComfort Earbuds II, the "Aware" setting is still present, which relaxes the Active Noise Cancellation and pipes in the outside world for those times when you need to hear an announcement or otherwise hear what is going on around you.
I really appreciate the "ActiveSense" setting that you can enable for "Aware" mode, which helps prevents loud sounds from being over amplified as it is piped into your ears. For example, if you're walking and someone were to suddenly scream in your ear, you would still hear it, but the volume of that scream would be reduced before reaching your ears. I tested this feature by blaring a Sonos speaker next to me and putting the earbuds in. I could still hear the music, but it was at a much more comfortable listening level.
## Features
- App: The Bose Music app allows you to assign a "shortcut" and customize how holding either earbud works. You can choose from cycling through the modes (Quiet, Immersive and Aware, which you can shorten by selecting two favorite modes to toggle between) or accessing the voice assistant on your phone.
- IPX4 sweat resistance: You can use these earbuds for your workouts as they're rated against sweat, but you cannot immerse the earbuds in water.
- Single earbud use: You can leave one earbud in the charging case and use the other earbud in "aware" mode.
## Battery Life
The QuietComfort Ultra earbuds can last up to 6 hours on a single charge, although if you use the Immersive Audio feature, this can reduce play time to about 4 hours. The case holds up to 3 additional full charges.
## Summary
The Bose QuietComfort Ultra earbuds have an impressive new "Immersive Audio" mode that can further enhance the music you're listening to and make it sound as if it were surrounding you. The Active Noise Cancellation technology is also more effective than my AirPods Pro (1st gen), but the earbuds are bulkier than the AirPods.

Pros:
Great Sound (a little improvement over the QC II, definitely more bass, a little more highs and better clarity). Much stronger ANC (lower and higher frequencies). Comfortable for hours of listening, they stay in my ears no matter what. The Immersion feature is nice. Makes the music sound more clear (keeping the thumpy bass), but it is not for all music genres. Definitely great for movies. More stable connection with the phone and with the app. Still buggy sometimes with the app, but better than the QC II.
Cons:
They have a faint static noise on the left earbud. I have two pairs (Black & White Smoke) and both have it. And I've read on the internet that it is a common issue. You can hear it on quiet environments. Hope Bose is aware and fixes this issue with a future firmware update.
No wireless charching for a premium earbuds. Although Bose sells a silicone case cover for $50 that enables wireless charging. Not fair to spend an additional $50 on a $300 earbuds. No múltiple connections. It's only limited to one device at a time. Hope Bose enables this feature with a firmware update too. Battery it's still around 6 hrs (less than average), but Immersion drains it faster, 4 hrs. I wish you could turn of the NC or Ambient mode engine so you could get more hours of playtime.

Hello,
Thank you for leaving your thoughts on the QC Ultra earbuds! It's great to hear how you enjoyed the sound quality and noise cancelling features of the product.
With regard to static noise, all speakers/headphones/earbuds have a level of hiss present which is normal. The amount will vary from device to device, but the presence of ANC means you will hear it more on good noise cancelling buds as the sound you're hearing is not blending in with the outside world ambience. This will not cause any problems to music playback.
