These cans deliver crisp, rich audio and look sharp while doing it—perfect for studying in a coffee shop or lounging at home. But take them on a jog or anything that involves a lot of movement and the sound starts to wobble and distort. I get that they’re not marketed as workout headphones, yet plenty of lifestyle-focused models from other brands hold up much better once you’re in motion. So: stellar for stationary listening, but skip them if you need something that can keep pace with your runs or HIIT sessions.

Thank you so much for your detailed and honest feedback! We’re thrilled to hear that you’re enjoying the crisp, rich audio and sleek design of the headphones for stationary listening—whether studying in a coffee shop or relaxing at home. That’s exactly the kind of experience we aim to deliver.

We also appreciate your insight regarding performance during movement. We highly recommend trying the Immersion Mode, which combines full noise cancellation with immersive audio. This feature is designed to block out distractions and surround you with lifelike, spatial sound—perfect for deep focus, travel, or simply enjoying your favorite music in a whole new way.

I tried on multiple headphones at BestBuy and the Bose UQ Headphones was the best fit. It is lightweight, has a long battery life, comfortable around the ear and neck, and the premium sound quality makes the purchase so worth it.

I absolutely love using the Bose QC Ultra — the sound is breathtakingly clear, and every song or game feels deeply immersive. The comfort is outstanding — it stays comfy even during long listening sessions. It’s amazing how much richer and more detailed everything sounds with it.

For the price point, I was really hoping these were going to be my holy grail headphones but I'm afraid they fall short. There are some really good and a few really annoying things about these that I think you should know before jumping into them. PROS: -The sound is great to my ears. I definitely enjoy immersion mode and feel like I'm getting a rich sound from them. As a disclaimer though, I'm not an audiophile-I just like music. -The look. They're sleek and unobtrusive. Not bulky at all. -The auto off function. They know when they're not on your head and go to sleep accordingly. They also turn all the way off after a set amount of inactivity. Appreciate this from a battery saving standpoint. -Best in class noise cancellation. Almost freaky how little of the outside world I can hear if I choose to. CONS: -I have a head that most headphones seem to be just shy of fitting. These fit better than the Razer Blackshark V2 Pro headphones I was using previously (those were WAY too low on my ears), but for it to totally fit I would need to be able to make them a little smaller than their smallest fit. It's subtle but if you have a small head you should be aware. -Charging. Why on EARTH can I not listen to my $400 headphones while they're charging?? In 2024?? This is really annoying. If you connect to a USB while they're on, they no longer use their own battery but they don't actively charge. My previous much cheaper headphones were able to do this, I don't think it should be that crazy of an ask, especially because when the computer is on that means I'm on it and presumably needing to use the headphones and when I'm no longer on it and the headphones are freed up for charging the computer is now not able to charge because it's off or hibernating. One of the top annoying things about these. -Clamp. After a few hours, these do hurt my ears. I actually think even though the Razer headphones were heavier monsters they didn't cause me pain like this and I guess it's down the clamp. That noise cancellation does require a seal, after all. Overall for my needs, fit and comfort was one of my top priorities and I would say if it's one of yours and you have a small sensitive head, these aren't quite the right headphones for you. I'm keeping them, but only because I threw out the box before realizing I'd probably want to return them. As an aside though, my husband has these too and he loves them. His head is larger so the fit is better for him and he doesn't really get the kind of ear pain that I do.

Hi Jaclyn, I'm glad you like several features of the QuietComfort Ultra Headphones, such as the sound (especially the Immersion modes), the design and the noise cancelling!

I am very sorry to hear that the headphones don't quite fit you. While we endeavor to make headphones that will fit most heads, it is true that the fit is subjective to the customer. The same is true for comfort - while our aim is to make headphones that can be worn for long periods of time, it may be that some users need to take them off for a break here and there (I have this experience myself, and not only with Bose headphones).

Lastly, although the headphones cannot be charged and used at the same time, a quick 15-minute charge will power the headphones for up to 2.5 hours with Immersive Audio set to Off (or up to 2 hours with it on). This is very useful for when the headphones' battery level is low.

      Warm regards
Fiona M. - Bose Customer Support bose

I really like Bose and am happy with my purchase of these, since I bought them to travel and they are great on the airplane. I bought them to replace airpods because in ear headphones were irritating, and I like the sound quality of Bose. They are a bit on the heavy side for easy everyday use, but if you are looking for good sound over the ear listening, these are really great!
