    After many times listening to the SB700 and the 700 bass module at the store, my wife wanted to purchase them for me. I was a bit frustrated with the setup but excited to have the room filled with sound like in the showroom. While it does sound good I regretfully have to say that I am disappointed that it does not perform as in the showroom. I ran the calibration a couple times just to be sure. The “thundering” bass is just not there. I tried watching war movies and was sure the bombs... would really sound off with the bass module bit was disappointed. This replaced a 5.1 system that was 10 plus years old and is only marginally better on the sound and not filling the room. Maybe a pair of rear surround speaker would make a difference but another $300 for a maybe? I am sorry to say that at this price I would not recommend these.

    Sounds great when it works

    Bought the Bose soundbar 700 two days ago. After multiple calls to tech support and hours of waisted time Bose tech support advised me to take it back to Best Buy and exchange. What worked; was able to get sound (music only) from sound bar, was able to connect via Bluetooth, and Alexa worked after day two not on day one. What doesn’t work; remote won’t pair, can’t get TV sound to play through bar, not very user friendly. Took two calls and hours of support to get some functions to work. After this experience I’m not buying additional Bose products for other rooms in my house.

      We're sorry to hear about the difficulties you have been experiencing with the soundbar. In regards to the Soundbar 700's universal remote, we have temporarily disabled the remote's ability to control 3rd party devices (a Blu-ray player, Xbox, etc.). This decision was due to improvements required for the IR blaster, which will become available in an update in early October. When the update becomes available, you can install it and then setup your remote as expected. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this has caused.

    App keeps shutting down at wifi retrieval

    I just purchased the Bose 700 soundbar and the 700 module. The soundbar connects to the tv , but when I try and sync (pair) my soundbar to the music app, the app shuts down when it retrieves the "wifi connections" (the step after finding my product to connect). I was not able to pair my soundbar nor my Module to the app, instead I had to hard wire my module to the soundbar with my "Beats" headphone cable (A CABLE THAT'S NOT EVEN PROVIDED BY BOSE?!?!?!....you would think it would come with the system). This is very frustrating because the 700 system is through the app, until the app works with my products, I can not make any adjustments on my 1800$ system..... Yes, I already tried the unplugging the power for 2-3 minutes, resetting the app, uninstalling the app, turning off my phone, turning on and off my WiFi/Bluetooth, pressing the Bluetooth and play/pause button the Bose remote for 5-10 seconds. ALL THE SOLUTIONS HAVE NOT WORKED EXCEPT FOR THE HARD WIRE!! YES, the router/modem is only a few feet away, and yes I tried both 2.4 and 5 internet connections. I do not have any others with any of my other devices, except for this Bose device I pay a good amount of money for.

      This is an issue that we are aware of and we are working to release a fix for this. In the mean time we would highly recommend that you set up the Soundbar 700 in Alternate Set Up Mode, this can be done by following the steps listed here. This will allow you to use the Soundbar and then launch the app.

    Bose 700 sound bar failed

    Worked for 3 yrs (hardly used the sound bar which was on guest TV) and then solid red light came on for no apparent reason. Failed to reset in soft or factory mode per Bose. Only alternative is to send the sound at back for service at a cost ($200) since out of warranty. Bose online and phone support was not helpful other than to restart the process in the online site. Disappointed in Bose products.

    Bose added Alexa, but lost connectivity to other Bose devices that already can be connected to Alexa??? Doesn't seem like a good trade-off especially one with added cost. As connected devices are doing everything they can to include their entire portfolio of products Bose chose to wall them off. Even on their Smart Home page they have two different paths to chose. SoundTouch or Bose Smart Speakers. Overall not very smart. Will be returning this and Bose Surround Speakers and replacing my 6 existing SoundTouch speakers for Sonos. At least I don't have to worry about their smart products not being able to communicate with each other.

    Way too complicated

    I was super stoked to get this bad boy out and thumping to movies and music, but the setup and trying to get it to connect to anything is not worth the frustration. It says it needs to update so no worries I let it update. It says it will take a half hour or so to update, alright so be it. A few hours later just still updating away. Forget this. Way too expensive for a product that takes forever to sync up and connect with other devices and so I never even got to hear it work. Total waste of time. Go with a plug & play device rather than this overly technical overpriced product just because of a name. Bose used to mean great sound. But now it just means a setup that will leave you frustrated and ready to return the product for something easier and less time-consuming.

    Was excited to finally buy a Bose speaker. That didn't last long. Though the sound is good which is the most important thing the app and software to operate it are a pure disappointment. It is as if they hired dropout engineers to create the software. I had worked for Bose in the past but now I am ashamed for the low performance of the Bose app. Wished I had stuck with my original purchase of the Samsung soundbar.

    FRUSTRATION

    The worst experience of buying a electronic device EVER. I was very exciting of buying this soundbar. I've already have a SOLO 5 and now I made this investment (yes, for me is an investment because I live in Brazil and due the change US$ X BRL its a huge price). My frustration was started when I was performing the installation. The AdaptIQ doesn't work and It's impossible listen to the music without peforming this step. I figured out that there are a lot of consumers experiencing the same issues. I sent my soundbar to customer service. Now customer services have asked to me 45 business days (believe me!) to replace some parts of the soundbar. It seems Bose has no quality control and its worldwide support doesn't work. I never felt my self so sad that I feeling right now.

AdaptiQ is not essential to setup your Soundbar and you can in-fact skip this step in order to listen to music and use your Soundbar as normal. AdaptiQ is simply an audio calibration technology that will adjust levels according to your surroundings.

    Remote died and HDMI isn't recognized by TV

    The remote for this device never worked quite right and it's completely dead now. And after only 2 years of operation, the HDMI device isn't recognized by the TV any longer. This might be my last Bose purchase. I was able to turn it on manually at the unit, but now that doesn't work.

    Can’t believe i spent this much for a system that is not user friendly!! Hate that it is online setup only. Does not work with Sony tv at all! The sound is dead..and will not connect fully with the remote/tv. For the money I would expect more. I am going to return this $1500 monstrosity and will be going back to Sony for a more compatible setup, system and sound.....BAD Bose, BAD Bose

    I wish I had never bought the system

    I have been very disappointed with this system. My wife and I went with the name and regret it. I have read some of the glowing reviews and they seem like they did not get the same system that I got. 1. The sound is not much better than the TV sound when I can get it to play. We had the team from Best Buy by come out to set it up because I had trouble making it work correctly. One problem is that sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't and when it did the sound was just so-so. A week after they set it up it did not work again and the Bode instructions are really for people who don't read they are just pictures. 2. It should be plug and play, but it's a mess. I expected a good experience for the Bose name and the hefty price tag (Sound bar and sub woofer $1600), but I'm so frustrated that I am going to return it if I can and if I can't i'll sell it for whatever I can on Craigslist take a loss and buy something else. But I wish it wasn't that way.

    I do not believe the rave reviews for this product. It is overly complicated to set-up (I have so far not succeeded). One needs an iPhone or similar to set the thing up, and when after hours of trying you think that the iPhone has connected to the soundbar, you get a message "something happened, try again." Simply Google this "Bose soundbar 700 something happened, try again" and you will get a flavor of what you'll face. The Bose helpline is useless. So you can save yourself $800+ and an ulcer by not buying this.

    The first one i got the optical port was broken. The replacement one the optical cable would not securely fit i am receiving my 3rd replacement on thursdsy may 5th hopefully the 3rd time is a charm. This is the first bose i bought

    This sound bar was fantastic and easy on first setup. Seemless availability from either TV or Sirius. Then I traded cars. After that sirius was gone forever. Resetting sirius account online worked fine for a mobile phone, but bose sound bar remained stuck. Bose website is hopeless. Troubleshooting of no use. No contact help. As far as a Sirius connection, the sound bar is now a brick and Bose is unavailable to help. Sad to see such a fine product so poorly supported.

    Great sound but if you use an IR remote to control all your audio equipment forget the bose they use a Bluetooth remote I returned the system and bought the Sonos
