All I needed was a sound bar that works
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bose is a speaker company. So they decided to build a computer. Spoiler: doesn't go well. So I think we want a sound bar for great sound. Set it up once and then forget about it. Not this guy! Great sound if you can keep it from constantly disconnecting from my LG OLED display. (1-2 a week) The fun part is the next 10 - 20 minutes of messing with settings to get it to work. I have had mine for 2+ years. Only in the past year has it really been a problem. Spoiler: Bose pushes updates from the internet to it. For what? I don't know? Yesterday Bose bricked my speaker. 1-2 hours of my life wasted trying to get it to work as a speaker! Its a freaking speaker. I never use any of the useless apps or capabilities it comes with. After I do a factory reset - I am going to sell this tub. Save your money, time, and frustration. I should have gone with LG but like an idiot I was trying to be loyal to a US company. I am done.

The Bose Smart Soundbar 700 is packed with technologies that bring out the full power in every moment of your entertainment. And with built-in voice control from Google Assistant and Alexa, all of your music is at the tip of your tongue.
The simplest way to connect the soundbar is via the supplied HDMI cable to your TV. If your TV has an HDMI-ARC or HDMI-eARC connection, you should use that connection. If your TV does not have an HDMI connection, you can connect it to the TV using the optical cable (supplied with the soundbar). Software and firmware updates improve product features and stability. Please install any available updates to keep your product working at its best.

800.00 JUNK!!

Buttons on top serve no purpose and doesn't come with manual. Love bose but this thing is crap. Google Bose 700 issues and there are a ton of blogs about this thing. AVOID!!

Major Glitch - Please Read
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent soundbar except for one major issue, it suffers from micro-drops in audio when streaming anything in Dolby over it. This is a well documented issue on multiple boards, includind Bose's own website, and the company is aware but apparently doesn't know how to solve it for two years. Silly me I thought I could trouble shoot it and passed my 14-day return period. Best Buy - if there's anything you can still do for me sonce their is a well documented problem with the product. Everything else is amazing but I consider this a major flaw and wouldn't recommend this to anyone because of it.

Remote Control rates a zero

Setup unacceptable
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Not only is setup unintuitive, they fail to provide important steps necessary to complete it. You have to troubleshoot to move along in the process and eventually you may get there. It’s been 3 hours and I still haven’t. If something takes that long to set up, then it doesn’t seem likely the product will perform up to standard. Going back to the store tomorrow.

Ridiculous Setup

The excuse for a manual is pretty much just one page showing how to plug it in - that's it! Well, instead of just unboxing it, plugging it in, and you're ready to go....you must (repeat, MUST) download an app and perform the setup from there. Unfortunately that app is not compatible with older versions of iOS, updating my iOS stalls on my phone (typical Apple "engineering"), and so my alleged amazing soundbar sits unused and if I don't get it working within the next few days then back to the store it goes. This is absolutely ridiculous.

Do not waste your money!!

Crazy in 2022 with an app or even simply put button on the sound bar to connect to Wi-Fi. Nope it takes a 40 year old technology to start the pairing process. Bose sounds great when it works it just won’t work more than one year and this has been on several products. Technical support is non existent.

Do not buy

Factory firmware was great no problems at all. 2 firmware upgrades later and the soundbar does not recognize the arc input. After playing with the settings i can get the soundbar to work without shutting everything off but i have lost tv remote control of the volume and there is a slight delay between the picture and audio.

Love the Soundbar, not Best Buy

They have the wrong dimensions on their website. Here are the correct ones direct from Bose Soundbar:38.5" W x 2.25" H x 4.25" D (10.5 lbs)

Cannot synch audio w/video

DON'T BUY AT ALL
