Good, But Not
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was able to set up this sound bar with much difficulty. I updated my wireless internet and have not been able to set them up again. Alexa works, when it is set up, but I cannot tell her to stop playing music. I have to use the remote.

Bose simply rocks!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bose is absolutely the best that money can buy. If you're not a Bose believer take this sound system for a test drive. Excellent design and awesome sound quality. You will hear crisper highs, lower lows and some mind blowing mid-ranges that you never knew your music contained. A true theater experience is now possible in your own home. I recommend that you couple your soundbar purchase with the Bose Subwoofer 700 in order to gain access to an optimum listening experience. There is no comparison to other systems I've owned in the past and this household currently has 3 other soundbars which are comparable in cost. PROS * Super low profile * Quality build * Amazing Sound Reproduction * Fantastic Subwoofer excellent build quality * Alexa is definitely a bonus * Easy Set up CONS * Bose App can be more user friendly, as I found it to be buggy in nature. * You can only adjust the soundbars setting through the use of the Bose Application. So if more bass or treble are needed, you have to utilize your phone to fine tune adjust. Honestly now, in this day and age? Bose is on my recommended list. Bose will unlock subtleties in your music that you never thought possible. Get ready to rock your world. Although the Bose app tends to be buggy, by no means is this a deal breaker. Bose is AWESOME. Bose is a winner.

Firmware updates will brick your soundbar
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Don't buy a Bose Soundbar before reading the articles on failed firmware updates. I have had two 700 soundbars bricked in 18 months because of update failures. Tech support is appalling and worthless. The remote only works thru your an app on your phone, if you loose connectivity between any of the three (phone app, remote, Soundbar) you're screwed and will not be able to recover from it. read the literally thousands of issues before you think about buying Bose sound products.

It’s not the best sound bar
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had my Bose sound bar for one day and exchanged it for the sonos which was 100 dollars cheaper and has better quality. If you want to add to it you can but not with the Bose sound bar.

We're sorry to hear that you were unhappy with the quality of our product.
The soundbar 700 can be paired with additional surround speakers and bass modules to enhance the sound from a TV source, as well as pairing wirelessly to other Bose products for Wi-Fi group sound.
Thank you for your time, and have a wonderful day!

Not worth the money
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the bose originally, Alexa was great thing to have. The installation was a little bit of a headache. Switching from soundbar to the tv speakers. Long story short I returned it and went with Sonos. Way better system for my money.

Don’t waste your money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this based on previous experience with Bose. The sound quality isn’t in line with other Bose product and we have constant issues with it not coming on at all. The app that is required for this is bulky and confusing. Bose also said they would supporting Airplay2 with this model in early 2019. That haven’t happened and after contacting them direct they do not have a timeline. The Alexa feature is also worthless, buy a dot for that. I do not recommend this product and it has tarnished my opinion of Bose.

Posted .Hi Robb,
Thank you for taking the time to review our Soundbar 700. We are sorry to hear you feel let down by the product. Airplay 2 was released for this speaker last month, you just need to update the speakers firmware for this to be a feature. In regards to the power issue you are having, I would suggest resetting the speaker by turning it off, unplugging it, waiting 30 seconds, and then re-powering the speaker.
If you are still having difficulties after that please reach out to your local support.

Initial update wouldn't work
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love Bose, but I often forget that their products have to be updated wirelessly after you first turn them on. Usually I bear with it but this soundbar just wouldn't update after a day and a half, not even by 1%. The sound in store was amazing and the perfectly balanced clarity is really why I stay with Bose, but this update killed my enthusiasm for the product so I had to do a return. 5 stars for quality and sound, 1 star because the update didn't work. Good luck future buyers.

Perfect for most, great overall with a few caveats
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Much like its companion piece, the Bose Bass Module 700 Subwoofer, this Bose Soundbar 700 is a serious piece of audio equipment. The design and build quality are excellent. The aluminum build and tempered glass top give it not only a sleek and modern look, but also a sturdy construction and well-built feel. It is a very clean and minimal look that will fit any set-up, and one that I really like. Setup for me was easy, and relatively quick using the Bose App. The app does give you quite a bit of control, but I do wish there was less reliance on it. These are the times I suppose. As for getting everything connected, be it components or streaming music, here, there is some to like and some to not. Most people will probably not have an issue, I, however, again, would have liked some more options. There is a lone HDMI port (an output), relying on the HDMI ARC system to get source to the soundbar. Again, for most people this will probably not be an issue, but with this system you must route all your HDMI connections to your TV and use the HDMI ARC on your TV (which most TVs today should have) to then connect to the soundbar. Essentially using your TV as a pass-through. This is a somewhat inelegant solution and, frankly, not the best, and can be an issue if you have quite a few inputs. Blu Ray, Apple 4K TV…etc. It can work, and will for most, but just something to be aware of. Further, there is an optical input so some of this can be mitigated, but I just wish there were more options. As an avid 4K user, I simply would have preferred better here, again, as there is also no lossless or Dolby Atmos support. Being such a premium product, I expected more. All of that said, once connected, I really thought the provided calibration system was fantastic. The process was a little drawn out, but ultimately, the sound was better. This is what you are after, why not spend the little bit of time? Further, WiFi and Bluetooth worked well, and sending music from my favorite services was quick and easy. Amazon Alexa is also built in, and once set up, also worked well, albeit a tad slow, but honestly, this was not something I was interested in. Google Assistant? It seems the app and software are updated fairly often, which is a good sign, and Apple Air Play 2 has been promised in early 2019. All in all, Bose seems to be on the right track on this end. In addition, I appreciate the modular approach Bose has taken with this line. They offer this soundbar, a sub woofer (which is excellent) and satellite speakers so you can put together a system based on your needs, and a system that can be changed when your needs do as well. Some may prefer everything in one package, but if you can’t tell, I like options. Sound quality, as expected with a Bose product, was fantastic! My main use case for this Bose equipment was movies, and as I mentioned in my sub woofer review, I was, well, stunned. Some of my favorite movies, ones I had seen many, many times seemed to have a different life, a different feel. I was coming from inferior equipment, but the sound was clean and crisp, dialogue was clear, bass fierce, but not too much, and everything just had a depth I had not had before. It truly was a new experience. Still, however, I was looking for that Atmos. I am also an avid music fan, but most of my listening is done on the go, and/or with a pair of cans. When I did send some tracks to the soundbar, I was really impressed. Highs were crisp, but not distorted, mids were clean and the bass was definitely there, but not overbearing. Basically, just great sound. Ultimately, I really like this soundbar…with a few caveats. Personally, given the premium nature of this hardware, I would have liked to see more connectivity options. Further, given how quickly 4K has gained popularity, I would have liked to see Dolby Atmos. However, for just about everyone looking for a high quality soundbar with the money to spend, this is a great choice. It looks absolutely gorgeous, is built well, seems to be actively supported, gives you options and, most importantly, sounds fantastic! Take a look at your needs, see if this fits, and as always, see if you can get a listen before purchase. In the end, I think most will be pleased with this soundbar and system from Bose.

Overrated
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product is overrated. The sound is no better with the Bose 700. The tv alone sounds better. The remote alone is extremely huge. Fyi the Bose 700 subwoofer is crap. I exchanged it 4 times thinking it was a defect in the unit. It appears all units were doing the same thing (static & distortion). Get a Sonos & don't bother with this.

Posted .Hello, the Bose Smart Soundbar 300 allows this. Bose Voice4Video technology gives you more control of our soundbars using just your voice. In addition to controlling your soundbar, you can control your TV and cable or satellite box. This lets you turn on your TV and jump to your favorite station all with one simple ask of Alexa. This may have been where you saw this. Your soundbar does however support Bluetooth audio. Have you tested out the Bose Music app? This will allow you to stream audio to your soundbar via WiFi too! Also, with Alexa built into your Soundbar, you can ask it to play your favourite tracks and much more!

Posted .Hi Mads,
Sorry to hear you've returned your product.
Did you know you can adjust the bass and treble in the Bose Music app? When you first hear the Bose Soundbar 700, you’ll understand why we have spent years obsessed with creating the ultimate sound experience. But if you want a little more, you can have more, whenever you want. Just add the wireless Bose Bass Module 700 or 500. It’s the difference between hearing bass and feeling thunder. Even more? Combine it with the Bose Surround Speakers 700 for our most premium looking and sounding surround sound.

Good TV not so good service
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.SONY Bravia works and performs as expected. Very nice TV. The SONY 3.1 soundbar did not. The sub woofer was cutting in and out often. I returned for BOSE and very satisfied. The guys that installed the TV did a great job. BUT, when they installed the TV they did NOT use the in wall power extension cord. I never got credited for that. I have called Bestbuy twice. First time i got call back wanting the details. I waited about 10 days and called again ... no return call.

Geek Squad is horrible
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Geek Squad and follow up customer service is the worst of any company that I have ever dealt with....don't use the Geek Squad for any home A/V installations. I waited from 7am to 3:00pm and no one ever showed or called. I called customer service and they only thing they were willing to do was to reschedule the appointment for 2 weeks later. Their whole customer service system is a joke.

Posted .Hello, thanks for trying Bose. With your set up, ADAPTiQ is key to the best listening experience. The ADAPTiQ audio calibration process is simple. Just put on a special pair of headphones (included in the box) and sit in each of your five favourite home cinema seating locations. Special microphones inside the ADAPTiQ headset "listen" to the sound and analyse the response from the speakers. Bose proprietary software automatically optimises the system performance.

I'm so glad to hear that you think the Soundbar 700 has great sound!
I'm sorry to hear that you were losing connection to the TV. I would recommend unplugging the TV and the soundbar from power for 30 seconds to reset them. Then plug in the sound and select the TV source. Then plug in the TV. This will help to stabilize the connection.
Thanks!
