Would not recommend

Remote control unpair by itself and there was no way in earth to pair it again. Tried the app, tried the action button on the sound bar and nothing. Will return and exchange for another home theater system

Great for Music and Home Theater!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The Bose Soundbar 700 comes with Alexa voice control built-in and will probably add other voice control apps in the future. The Soundbar 700 appears to be an upgrade to the earlier, superb, SoundTouch 300. It lives up to the Bose tradition of being stylish and functional while providing aurally pleasing audio. Bose has been providing superior audio products as long as I can remember, and this is no exception. The 700 provides crisp clean audio that crosses the line of superb music to great home theater in a compact package. I have replaced all of my older 7.1 systems with Bose units – the 300, 500 and 700 series plus their subwoofers. The software and firmware are constantly being upgraded, with new features and adaptation to changing industry standards. I used the iOS app to do the setup – it took about an hour to complete the entire setup. Just follow the directions and you will have awesome audio. The ability to use Alexa to control all of my systems verbally is great and at the leading edge of the IoT. I feel the fit and finish of the speaker is at the top of its class. Mine fills a larger and more varied than recommended space with rich clean sound from highs to lows (lows produced by the 700 subwoofer). I will probably add the Bose Surround Speakers at some point but at this time I am quite happy as is. Pure class – great sound!

We're sorry to hear that you're unhappy with the audio and bass of this system.
We would recommend that you go to the Bose music app, and using the "Adjustments" menu change the level of bass manually to a level that you prefer!
Alternatively, you could run the AdaptIQ audio calibration to maximise the audio quality from all connected parts of the system.

Great sound, confusing remote
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.As typical of Bose, this has amazing sound quality, especially when paired with corresponding subwoofer. However, there are some added features that make it less than user friendly. It comes with a very sophisticated universal remote that has really cool backlit buttons that are invisible when unlit and apparently only illuminate when they're applicable to the device being controlled. It also connects to WiFi and has Alexa built in, allowing you to control smart devices and stream music services wirelessly. The setup process is horrible though. You're supposed to use an app to walk through the process. My phone found the speaker just fine, but I failed to connect the subwoofer during setup, and I also failed to to do the Bose room setup process during setup. I had to basically skip over those steps (after several failed attempts) and do them later outside of the normal setup process. The room setup is pretty cool when it works. You wear a wired headset, and the speaker measures the sound at different points in the room to tailor your acoustics. Using Alexa, the soundbar will respond to voice commands to stream music, but it won't handle commands like switching back to the TV sound input. Neither the app nor the remote make that process any easier, either. It sounds really great, and it's good for streaming music when not watching TV, but the controls are not intuitive.

Very Diappointed

Highly disappointed. Returned because it did not measure up. Sound was very plain. May be better when you add the bass components but that is more money and it's already expensive enough.

Love Bose, but not this product...

Alexa and the cable box disconnect every several days. After HOURS AND HOURS of research, I now must unplug the power chord from the Soundbar and wall EVERY TIME. This means I must pull out the cabinet, etc. a real pain. Additionally, the dialogue is off with the lip sync when watching TV, and that is not fixable, despite Bose assertion that it can be adjusted in “Settings.” Tried all ends of the spectrum and doesn’t work!! I haveBose headphones and speakers and am a Bose fan generally. Not with this product. I definitely would not recommend this product.

Alexa not totally built in - very disappointing

The one thing you would want to do is group this speaker with other Echo devices for multi-room sound. YOU CAN'T DO THAT! Really??? This only means that Bose wants to sell more of its own compatible stuff instead of satisfying customers who already have a bunch of Echo devices. It is truly is misleading for Bose to say Alexa is built in when only part of is actually is. It sure would be great to see an update that corrects this.

Sucks for anything streaming from your phone via an app, it's really choppy and unclear as any wifi in your house will interfere.. Sound bar sound is really high and bright, has no mid bass so if you're use to all 3 bands "low, mid, & high" this will disappoint even with the 700 sub.

Posted .Hi! Try a reset of your Soundbar 700 by disconnecting it from power for two minutes, to fix any issues preventing ADAPTIQ from starting. To eliminate audio sync issues, connect using the provided HDMI or optical cables, and also adjust sound settings on your TV. Sam - Bose Customer Support
