It's not worth it for that price , I thought was powerful device but unfortunately is not , the app doesn't help you at all. Even I called Bosse and they told me there are a few problems with a lot of customers. But is not Best Buy fault.

Hey! The Bose Music app is a great tool to help with configuring the inbuilt voice assistant on your Soundbar 700, and also link your favorite music services for streaming. Put your system into setup mode and the app will find and connect, but if you continue to have difficulty please reach out again so we can get this resolved! Sam - Bose Customer Support bose

Unboxing the Bose 700 Soundbar with Alexa reveals the Soundbar, remote, batteries, power cable, an HDMI cable, an optical cable, cleaning cloth, and the ADAPTiQ sound configuration tool. I appreciate the free HDMI and optical cable. There is nothing worse than buying a new device and realizing you need to buy a cable to use it. As I unwrap the Soundbar and remote I cringe a bit as I recognize why Bose includes a cleaning cloth. The remote is covered in a rubberized material which I can immediately see is a dust magnet. The Soundbar itself has a tempered glass top which is beautiful but also a fingerprint magnet. This would pose less of an issue on the Arctic white version. I do appreciate the glass construction since it looks sweet and will withstand scratches. Overall build quality is very nice. I would expect nothing less from Bose. The Soundbar measures about 38 inches long by 7 inches wide and weighs in at 10 pounds. I referenced the manual for setup. You are instructed to connect the power and connect the Soundbar to your tv via HDMI. The manual then simply directs you to download the Bose Music app to complete setup. The app then prompts you to sign up for a Bose account. You connect the Soundbar to your WiFi network, and link your Amazon account to use Alexa. You are also prompted to configure the sound with the ADAPTiQ tool which is a wired device which you plug into the rear of the Soundbar and wear on your head. The Bose app then walks you through the calibration process by sitting in five different spots in your room. The Soundbar makes various sound signals which the ADAPTiQ device “hears” via its microphone. This information is apparently analyzed to optimize the sound. This whole process struck me as somewhat gimmicky and frustrating as the cord on the ADAPTiQ quickly tangled into a huge mess. I wish I had skipped this setup initially so I could determine if the ADAPTiQ calibration was truly effective. I’ll assume it exists for a reason. There is also a step where you select which music streaming service you want to link to the Soundbar. Services supported here are Pandora, Spotify, Deezer Premium, Amazon Music, TuneIn, SiriusXM, and iHeartRadio. I selected Amazon music since I have an account. After that you’re basically ready to use the Soundbar. Bluetooth of course is supported. AirPlay support is apparently going to be added via an upcoming firmware update. Let’s not forget that Alexa is onboard as well, making the Soundbar 700 one special sounding Alexa device. I started testing the Bose Soundbar 700 for music playback via my Amazon music account. I really love the integration of Amazon music control in the Bose Music app. Here you can select various stations. Once playing you can also add a favorite station as a preset to your Bose remote control. You can then simply press the numbered button on the remote and be instantly streaming your favorite station. There are six buttons available. I love this brilliant option from Bose. Asking Alexa to play a station is cool but sometimes a simple button selection is easier. The remote is really nice and also functions as a universal remote. With it you can control all your devices from one remote. The remote lights up when you lift it so no fumbling to see buttons in the dark. As I continue exploring various music selections I am impressed by the sound quality. The sound is rich and vibrant. As I switch to TV as my source via the remote I am somewhat less impressed. It’s certainly better then my TV speakers but it’s somehow lacking in quality but then again it’s just broadcast television. As I switch to a Blu-ray for a source I’m again blown away by the sound quality. Bose uses its “PhaseGuide Technology” to create a surround sound effect from just the Soundbar. It really works quite well. You do sense sound all around you even though it’s all originating from just the Soundbar. If you demand true surround the Soundbar 700 is also expandable with add on surround speakers and there’s also an add on subwoofer. I’m sure these would only make this Soundbar even more spectacular. Dolby Digital and DTS is supported but unfortunately there is no Atmos support. Bose incorporates another great feature if you own more than one Bose supported devices you can group your devices to play the same source at the same time. Great feature for multiple room sound. Supported here is the Home Speaker 500, the Bose Soundbar 500, and the Bose Soundbar 700. The Bose 700 Soundbar with Alexa is a premium soundbar which sounds great. I love the flexibility of controlling the device via remote, Alexa, or the impressive Bose Music app.

Product doesn't work well with the LG ULED TV which is one of the best TV's on the market. Every time you turn it off and restart you have to set up settings again to make it work. Isn't found as a speaker with google home so you cannot group with other speakers.

This is my second replacement for the first Model Soundbar 500. The first started crackling after 2 weeks. Now about 3 weeks (2/26/2020) after purchase the sound bar 700 keeps sticking in Music mode and will not respond to the app or the remote. Very frustrating. Now I can't go into store to ask questions (CoronaVirus) . I forgot to get extended warranty because my old extended warranty i paid for was used when i returned previous model to upgrade(???) even after only two weeks. Very disappointed in Bose quality and Best Buy Return policy.

Bought the Soundrar 700 and the Sub 700. After spending $1,500 I expect everything to work perfectly.... But unfortunately that wasn't the case. The good - excellent build quality - beautiful design - amazing sound - amazing subwoofer - love the sound such a small package can produce The bad - many Bose apps in app store (confusion) - universal remote doesn't work (Bose said they'll fix it sometime in October) - Alexa will not play Spotify (Bose says they're working on making it work) - when you wake Alexa, there is no audible confirmation, only LED... . This simply is not acceptable to me because I'm not always looking at the bar - using HDMI Arc for sound did not work with my TV (did all trouble shooting with a Bose tech) (the replacement Sonos Beam works with the same TV over HDMI Arc with zero hassle) - the only way to change input on the sound bar is with the physical Bose remote... Unacceptable. - the Bose app is really unacceptable as a whole. It looses connection sometimes and forces you to close it and open again.... And it takes about 4x longer to open than the Sonos app. - basically everything software related is glitchy and full of bugs. As you may have surmised, I returned this setup and bought a Sonos Beam with the subwoofer. The difference between the two systems is stark. The software aspects of Sonos are simply light years ahead of Bose while being only a smidgen behind on the hardware aspects. Between the Bose 700 and the Sonos Beam (both with subs) the Bose has a slight edge in sound quality especially for very large rooms. But the Bose will drive you mad with it's third rate software experience.

I purchased the Bose 700 soundbar over the Sonos Playbase, which has a built in subwoofer, because Bose listed HDMI ARC as a feature. Only problem is it never works! you will need to complete the set up every-time you turn off your TV or switch video input. Like changing from Cable to Blu-ray player or Netflix app. Very disappointing and I will be returning.

Received the Bose Soundbar 700 and wireless surround speakers for a 4-week test on 30OCT2018. As usual the Bose equipment came very well packaged, it took longer to unbox and layout all the components and wiring than it did to hook the system up. You must use a Smartphone or Tablet to set up this system, I used a Smartphone. Refer to the Bose manual on the internet for more in-depth instructions. Read some of the reviews as this will give you some good information when setting up. I read a review that talked about how long it took the Soundbar to download updates once they were connected to the internet using the Bose Music App, so I was prepared, however, if I had not read that review I might have been concerned with the App not finding the Soundbar right away. Setup is quick and easy, the longest part being the downloading of updates. We positioned the Soundbar 700 per Bose’s recommendations, hooked up the Soundbar to our TV’s HDMI ARC and plugged the Soundbar 700 into the power outlet. Using our smartphone (you must use a smartphone or tablet, I used my smartphone) you will download the Bose Music App and create an account. Once you’ve created a Bose Music App account and connected to your wireless internet (per the instructions in the app) the Soundbar 700 automatically started to download updates. Be patient and allow the Soundbar to update, the Bose Music App continued to say it could not find the Soundbar during the Soundbar updates, (occasionally I would check the phone, tap on the soundbar icon and the app would attempt to locate the Soundbar 700. Once the updates were downloaded, I tapped on the Soundbar icon once again and the app found the Soundbar 700, by following the instructions on the Bose Music App, the setup was simple and quick. Wireless connection of the Bose surround speakers to the Bose Soundbar 700, using the Bose Music App, took seconds to accomplish. Once you’ve completed the above you’ll need to run the ADAPTIQ using the Bose Music App. If you’re like us, you can’t set up the surround speakers as shown on the Bose internet site however once you run the ADAPTIQ it will accommodate your wireless speaker locations. Alexa was easy to get operational and worked perfectly with the 700 system. Being able to voice control the volume and other operational controls with the microphones that are built into the Bose Soundbar 700 is a great addition. We have found the array of microphones in the Bose 700 Soundbar to be more responsive than any of our Alexa Echo’s when listening to music at a higher volume. With our Alexa Echo’s (4 of them) we’ve found we must holler at times to get our Alexa Echo’s to respond when we’re listening to music at a higher volume. The Bose Music App will walk you through the entire hook up from start to finish including your music app choices and any other components you choose to connect. The Bose Soundbar 700 Remote: Had a hard time getting the Soundbar remote to find our TCL 55S405 TV. After attempting many times I had given up and accepted it was not going to work. After a couple of days I attempted to sync the remote to the TV one more time prior to writing a review and I was successful. The Soundbar 700 remote can control all of the TVs functions and is very cool! NOW FOR THE SOUND!!! Beautiful sound, extremely crisp and clear and the bass is deep and rich, this is without changing any of the sound controls. Flybys that would make you duck and roars that would make you jump. We’re not sure how much different the subwoofer could make as the bass is excellent from the Bose Soundbar 700. Watching a movie was incredible, the voices were clear and crisp, and the background sounds were also incredible, yet they didn’t take away from the dialog. The only Con we have found is the Bose Music App will not download to any of our 8” or 10” Amazon Fire Tablets. Very elegant system with looks that are only exceeded by the great sound. We highly recommend the Bose Soundbar 700 and the Bose Wireless Surround Speakers!
