Absolutely blown away by the perfomance of the 900 along with the Bass module 700. This had replaced my anthem receiver that was running all focal chora speakers in a 5.1 setup along with svs sb3000 sub. I am still shocked at how well this performs. For 95% of homes out there this soundbar with the bass module 700 is simply incredible.

Amazing Sound Bar: Huge upgrade from the ST300

I was having some issues with the Bose SoundTouch 300 and was able to exchange for this sound bar. I cannot begin to tell you just how amazing this sound bar is. It is a huge upgrade from the 300. Besides the ability for Atmos, which my tv does not pass through, the self produced bass is much more obvious. Also, I can definitely hear more left to right, right to left surround effects from the bar itself. This is something I never really heard from the 300. I also feel that this sound bar and WiFi system, which is upgraded from the sound touch WiFi system, sends a better signal to the sub woofer. The sub always sounded great when listening to music but seemed nonexistent when watching a movie. That is not the case now. The sub has been way more active with the 900. I was hoping the surrounds would also be better, but those are still not very noticeable. I plan on upgrading to the surround 700s soon from the virtual surrounds I currently own. This sound bar was very easy to set up and I couldn’t recommend it more!

This is the first soundbar I have purchased thag is more on the expensive side. The first one I had was a samsung 2.1 system which I picked up for about $200. In my opinion this bose 900 soundbar is well worth the $900 price tag. 2 days after i purchased mine it went on sale for $700 and i contacted bestbuy to get a refund for the difference which they did. I like the app and the ADAPTiQ room scanning setup. It is very easy to setup and use. The longest part of the setup process was the update which took about 30 minutes. The bass is good for my smaller bedroom when I turn it up but i would definitely recommend buying the bose bass module 700.

Clear audio but doesn’t fill the room alone

I have really mixed feelings about the Bose Soundbar 900 with Dolby Atmos. On one hand, compared to another fairly high end sound bar I have, the vocal clarity is significantly improved and really quite impressive. I can tell that paired with a nice subwoofer and surround speakers, this soundbar would make a great centerpiece.
However, as a stand-alone speaker, I didn’t feel like it filled the room with sound as well as my other soundbar did, despite the improved vocal clarity. There are some features coming in the future with AdaptIQ that are designed to better tailor the sound to the room that may improve the experience, so I’ll definitely experiment with that when those features release.
Overall, if you’re looking for a single sound bar, I think you can get a better overall experience with other options. However, if you’re looking to add this to an existing Bose setup with surround speakers and a subwoofer, then I definitely would recommend this product for overall quality and clarity of the audio.
One minor thing worth noting is the listing indicated the sound bar was mountable, but no mounting equipment was provided, and it’s not obvious to me from looking at the instructions or the product itself how the sound bar could/ should be mounted.

The Bose Smart Soundbar 900 is an outstanding choice for upgrading your home entertainment. With Dolby Atmos technology, it immerses you in lifelike audio for movies and music. Its built-in voice assistants, like Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, make control effortless. Adding the subwoofer enhances the experience further, delivering deep, rich bass that completes the setup for a truly cinematic feel.

BOSE 900 SOUNDBAR, SUBWOOFER & REAR SPEAKERS

We purchased the sounder to replace a 4 year old Bose Lifestyle 650 system that started having audio problems. We also added the sub woofer and rear channel speakers at the same time to duplicate what we had with the Lifestyle.
The components are controlled with the Bose Music app. After all pieces were added to the app, you can control every individual speaker. Like a lot of bass, turn it up and make your floors rattle. Too much, adjust it down. Increase the volume of your rear surround speakers to catch all the action.
This concept really makes a lot more sense than having everything included in one system. One conponent fails, just replace the it and the rest continue to work. A money saver.
Extended warranty protection is one important thing to consider when making the purchase of these components. When we bought the Lifestyle back in 2019, we purchased a warranty from Bestbuy. After contacting Bestbuy with our problem, we were credited back our entire purchase price of the system. Will this happen in every case, I can't say. We were issued BB gift cards with which we purchase the replacement Bose system components. Oh, and we also purchased another 4 year warranty on each piece.
It's fairly early days on our new purchases, but based on present performance, I would definitely recommend the purchase of these pieces if you really enjoy having great sound both on regular tv, but all the great content from streaming sources.

I got his on sale for $600 last month (absolute steal) its now retailed at $750 but you can find it cheaper. Its absolutely the best you can get for thr oroce, even at $750 its more than worth it. Run the adaptiq calibration and you'll think sound effects from movies and even yourube vidoes are coming from outside (i was fooled numerous times). It has amazing soundstage and effect placement. I recently added the 700 surround and 500 bass module and it basicall makes this setup the best you can get for under $2,000. Bose had always been a top of the line product. Even without the bass module and surrounds, watchinh a 4K bluray disc with a good sound track like dolby atmos and you will be shocked how good just the bar alone is, i watched Dune part one with just the bar and it was mind-blowing it handled it. You can't go wrong with this bar. The height effects are also pretty good but you have to go into the app and jack up the height channel setting (i have mine at 100). You can also adjust other settings on the app as well and it works flawlessly

This sound bar by itself is ridiculously great sounding all by itself. Setting up Adaptiq was a problem. An air filter on low was causing a calibration problem and once that was turned off, calibration was easy. That improved sound quality so much! I don’t need a bass module…it will be a nice add but the bar has a decent amount of bass by itself. Oh yeah, if you are still reading…the updates leave a lot to be desired…takes almost an hour to update when first turned on…Bose has some work to do in that…

Was hoping to upgrade my Soundbar 300 to the 900. Setup process was straight-forward and was easy to add my existing Bose bass and surround-sound speakers, access to Pandora and Sirius XM, and to activate Alexa. Was ready to hear some exceptional sound, but only silence. Soundbar 900 would play sound with an internet source, but nothing from my LG OLED55C7P via its ARC port. Spent 5+ hours on 2 different days with some very helpful and patient Bose customer support personnel. Was able to get some spectacular sound via the ARC connection on 2 separate occasions for very short periods of time. However, if additional sources were later added to the TV or if the Bose 900 power cord was unplugged and then plugged back into the wall outlet, the sound from the Bose dropped-out from the TV's ARC connection and could not be re-established. Multiple factory resets and different HDMI cables, Bose CEC setting, etc, could not make the Bose 900 produce sound again. My 3-star rating was based on hearing brief periods of exceptional, room-filling sound from a Dolby Atmos test video on Youtube (5 stars), but a very glitchy product that had communication issues with my existing TV (0 stars). A great disappointment that I have to return it for a refund. I would have strongly recommended this product had it worked properly with my existing TV.

Hey there, It's so good to hear that you like the sound for the Soundbar 900! I'm sorry to hear that you seem to be experiencing some issues with the sound on the TV source. The troubleshooting you have tried already is a really great start! I would recommend that you try a HDMI reset whilst you have the Bose CEC option on 3. You can do this by unplugging both the TV and soundbar from power and waiting for 30 seconds before plugging the soundbar back in. Once it has rebooted, select the TV source and plug the TV back in. If you are still experiencing some issues, please reach out to our team again using the details here: https://bit.ly/3lPJqUf. Thanks! Kerri - Bose Customer Support

Decided to pull the trigger on the Bose 900 for my dedicated home theater space (30x10. Epson 3800 and 120’ Elite Screen). I debated on a traditional 5.1 set up or sound bar. I didn’t want all the cables but also didn’t want to lose the sound quality and experience. I didn’t really think a sound bar could deliver what I wanted which theater sound BUT...
The 900 is the way to go, I was also hesitant because of the heavy price tag but if you want quality sound, and true Dolby experience this is it for you. Clear/Full/Deep/Loud. Easy to set up. App makes everything much easier. It’s simply worth every dollar.

With its price it’s absolutely a steal. There were no problems with the speaker itself as well as setting it up was super easy. The soundbar’s sound system was out of this world sorry if I exaggerated about it but in my opinion one of the best soundbars out there. This soundbar is excellent in every way the intense bass, the dialogue can be heard very clearly, and is easy to adjust the settings. 11/10 for sure!!

The Bose Soundbar 900 is a nice upgrade from the previous 700 with the addition of upfiring Atmos speakers. Sound is stellar with the addition of a Bose Bass 700 subwoofer for a deeper bass kick. Add the Bose 700 Omni rear Bluetooth wireless surrounds and you have a complete surround sound theater like system. Low profile footprint. Classy glass tops. Great Bose sound to fill the room. FYI make sure you place the Soundbar so that it is open to the sides and top to take full advantage of the sound space speaker bounce off of the sidewalls and ceiling.

If you don't want to mess with rear speakers and the hassle of wiring them up (wireless speakers are not truly wireless) then this is the system to go with. sound quality is awesome. paired up with the 700 subwoofer, it packs a punch. very simple to set up with the Bose app as well. Then once you use the adaptiq headset to fine tune it, the sound gets even better. yes the price is on the steep side, but its Bose and its good. very glad I spent the money on a better system.

Bose has delivered a heavy weight, A+++ soundbar (yet again). Easy to setup, amazing Dolby Atmos experience, and unlike many soundbars it looks great on the TV stand.
Originally planned on purchasing its main competitor (entirely because of Dolby Atmos) but paused that purchase once I discovered Bose had launched this beast.
After re-researching and comparing the two in person, I confidently chose to stay in the Bose family.
Planning to purchase the Bose 700 subwoofer in the near future to elevate the experience even further.

Awesome as always with Bose…. I upgraded to the 900 smart sound bar from the 300 SoundTouch sound bar and it was definitely worth it the sound is much clearer on the highs and with the Bose 700 bass subwoofer it is the sound I’ve been looking for… It was so easy to set up and Bose is just awesome and nothing compares… Don’t hesitate to get one and experience the best sound ever..

Sound quality is excellent and pretty easy to setup and use. The bose music app is constantly being updated but is a pretty good so far. Excellent video games, movies and music if you have the tv with the capabilities (HDMI EARC). Suggest buying the 700 speakers and subwoofer for the full experience. The entire package is a bit expensive but well worth the cost. The sound difference is significant with the full bose setup.

I've had this soundbar for less than 2 weeks now and so far I'm loving it. I'm 2nd generation of Bose customer(my dad was big fan of Bose sound) and this soundbar is just awesome, it seems like every sound gets its chance to be heard and nothing gets crushed - setup is also very easy. Bass is decent too, ofcourse no substitue for subwoofer. I heard some reviewers complaning about no indicators on bar or not many lights but that's the whole pupose behind Bose's philosophy, sound is to be heard, not seen. I love how there's no light that distracts, sound is controlled thru tv remote(HDMIarc). I am more than pleased with this soundbar.
The only disappointment I have is with the remote that came with it, its small form factor is good but there's no way to select input to switch between connected devices. I would have much appreciated if they had kept their original remote(similar to 700 model).

After evaluating various soundbars for a secondary room at home, I selected the BOSE 900 based on sound quality, sound immersion, elegant design, and built quality. Indeed, in my testing at various stores, BOSE sound appeared more refined than Sonos arc, and Samsung systems. Based on recommendations by online audio-video enthusiasts, I also purchased the bass module 700. After the initial setup, without sound adjustments, I found that sound was marginal at best, and voice dialogue was not clear. However, following an increase in the center channel to +30 and the height (atmos channels) to +90, sound quality and sound stage significantly improved. The latter also improved following the ADAPTiQ calibration. For these reasons, I recently purchased the BOSE 700 surrounds. I installed them on the wall and recalibrated with ADAPTiQ. These surround speakers complement the soundbar 900 and the bass module to generate a satisfying cinematic experience. One minor point deserves mentioning. Although the BOSE Music app does its job for the set-up and control of the system, it still needs some fine-tuning due to somewhat frequent glitches. In conclusion, I am very happy with purchasing the BOSE 900 system and recommend it for small to medium-sized rooms.

I have a high end hifi setup for my main living area, but for my loft and bedrooms wanted something simple, elegant, and as decent sound as I could get from a small setup like this.
I've been using the Bose 700 soundbar w/ bass module and 700 surrounds. Pretty great setup. So when I heard the 900 came out I was really debating if it would be worth it to upgrade.
Watched a few YouTube reviews and read articles online and seemed to find fairly positive feedback so I dove in and purchased one.
I was excited to see the finally incorporated eARC with addition of Atmos upfiring speakers which I didn't have high expectations for. I realize this is not the real proper setup for Atmos, but figured for room it was going in any Atmos sound was a plus.
Setup was simple and actually a bit easier than 700. The 700 was a bit finicky getting connected with the Bose music app and my accessory speakers; had no connection issues with 900.
The soundbar did a firmware update which took about 20 mins and honestly seemed to be frozen during process, but then everything turned on. Think Bose still needs to improve firmware update process, but overall the app has come a long way.
Ran the adaptiq then started listening and wow I was blown away. The clean crisp sound was amazing from a soundbar and for some reason it seems like my rear surrounds have been enhanced. I know technically nothing changed with the surrounds, but when matched with the soundbar they really come to life. I watched a few movies and too my surprise I was getting a really decent room filling sound with wound effects coming from all over including overhead. Bose really worked some magic hear. Today I'm now buying a second one for the master bedroom.
