Ive owned bose. This speaker is not smart, it is horrible. Wont let me turn off tv and then wont give me sound. Tried to return to best buy and they refused as it was after 15 days. Tried explaining i had a family emergency, so I could not do it in the 15 days (literally 2 days after it). I do not recommend this speaker. And will not be making any larger purchases from Best Buy again after this. The customer service is horrible. The executive team never responds to concerns. Complete a waste of 400 bucks! If i could give negative stars i would!

Setup was actually pretty effortless. So many ‘smart’ products seem to have some type of issue during setup, but the Bose just did what it was supposed to. No hassles. I initially installed it in a larger room, around 400 sq ft, and the sound was better than I had expected. You could tell it was struggling to fill the room, but it was more than acceptable. It had a much wider soundstage than I thought it would for such a small soundbar. After moving it to a smaller room, the sound was noticeably better and didn’t seem like it was straining to fill the room. One minor complaint is that it doesn’t really notify you when it’s doing a product update. I was reconnecting to another TV, and having issues with no sound. After messing around with TV settings for several minutes, I finally opened up the Bose app and in small font below the speaker name, it said ‘preparing update’. Clicking into the speaker it then notified me that an update was underway and it could take up to 25 minutes to complete. The A.I. Dialogue Mode is great for watching movies and TV shows. Couldn’t tell you how many times I’ve struggled with picking out the dialog during action scenes. I was skeptical about this feature, but it does actually help quite a bit. Overall, a very nice soundbar in a rather compact size.

One star only because no star wasn't an option. THIS IS JUNK the 600 was JUNK too. My Bose Soundbar 600 worked for six months before dying which Bose has repaired THREE TIMES. I bought this model hoping to get around the constant repairs of the Soundbar 600 but this one was broken out of the box. I threw away everything that was Bose the satellite speakers and subwoofer and replaced everything with SONOS. Do yourself the favor and run from this dumpster fire and never look back.

The Bose Smart Soundbar with Dolby Atmos is an excellent choice for those seeking powerful, immersive audio in a compact form. Despite its small footprint, it fills a room with rich sound, making it ideal for both movie buffs and music enthusiasts. Here’s my detailed breakdown after using it for a week: Design: The soundbar’s sleek, minimalist design fits perfectly under any TV without dominating the space. Though it doesn’t come with built-in wall-mounting hardware, it’s easy to place on a shelf, which works fine for most setups. Ease of setup & use: Setting up the soundbar was a breeze, using the Bose app. It walked me through connecting the soundbar to the TV using HDMI ARC and setting up voice controls. The app also makes controlling the soundbar, adjusting sound settings, and managing connections easy. While I typically use the remote, having app control is a convenient backup when the remote isn’t handy. Sound quality & features: The combination of Dolby Atmos and TrueSpace technology delivers an incredibly immersive audio experience. Whether watching movies or listening to live music, the soundbar creates an all-encompassing soundscape, including overhead effects, which is impressive for its size. A.I. Dialogue Mode enhances voice clarity during movies without drowning out other sounds, which is especially helpful in action-packed scenes. The bass is deep and punchy even without an external subwoofer, though adding one could create a more theater-like experience. Smart features & Streaming: Integration with my smart home setup was seamless. Alexa voice control works flawlessly, picking up commands quickly and eliminating the need for an Echo device. Streaming via Bluetooth, Apple airPlay 2, Spotify connect, and Chromecast makes switching between devices easy. Although I’ve had occasional AirPlay connectivity issues, I expect a future software update will fix this. Pairing with other Bose speakers or headphones using Bose SimpleSync is also a great feature, particularly for late-night TV watching with headphones. Cons: No built-in Google Assistant (only Alexa for now, though you can control it via a Google Home speaker). Occasional AirPlay connectivity issues. No volume buttons on the soundbar itself. Alexa cannot group the soundbar with Echo devices for multi-room audio, limiting synchronized playback across multiple rooms. Overall, this soundbar excels with its powerful sound, smart features, and compact design. While there are a few limitations, such as the lack of Google Assistant and some AirPlay issues, its audio quality and ease of use more than make up for it. If you’re after a small, space-saving soundbar that offers big sound and smart device integration, this is a fantastic choice.

Hi Richard, I'm sorry to hear that you don't find your Smart Soundbar very loud! The soundbar is more than capable of supplying plenty of volume to your room, so make sure the HDMI or optical cable you're using is plugged in firmly at both ends, and that any cable caps have been removed. If that, and turning up the soundbar's volume, don't fix the issue, please contact our support team for further assistance: https://support.bose.com/s/get-help-landing-page?language=en_US. I'm sorry to hear your Smart Soundbar isn't connecting to the Bose app! Make sure you're using the correct app, namely the Bose app and not e.g. the Bose Connect app. You should also unplug your soundbar from power for 5 minutes, which will soft-reset it. If these tips don't help, please contact our support team, who will be more than happy to get your soundbar up and running for you: https://support.bose.com/s/get-help-landing-page?language=en_US. I was looking for a small soundbar to use in another room and have been a Bose fan for years. Although the audio purists out there stick their noses in the air because of "synthetic" sound, I find their mastery of DSP to provide an amazing sonic experience from modestly sized products. Still, I was sort of stunned by the new Smart Soundbar. It seems as though the Dolby ATMOS decal has become ubiquitous with too many products claiming to support the standard but really unable to leverage it sonically. I find that this product is able to create a convincing soundstage with an amazing amount of separation and width. The product is very compact but with a satisfying heft. It is solidly constructed and has a quality feel. The small form factor means that you're not going to find a visual display, or an array of control buttons and status lights but the included remote control and the app provide everything you need to dial in the sound. Do be aware that there is only a single HDMI eArc port provided so all of your devices will have to connect through the TV. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are provided for streaming support Speaking of the app - one of my pet peeves is the buggy nature of much of the software that manufacturers provide to manage their tech. Bose has no such issues. The app loaded and functioned perfectly for me. The listening experience was a very pleasant surprise. My expectations were pretty muted due to the small size of the unit and thus it's speakers. But, I was shocked at the virtual front soundstage and even the bit of overhead effects this sound bar can deliver! It really shines with HD music streamed through my phone - plenty of clean volume and even some decent bass! If, like me, you are looking for a quality sound experience from a compact sound bar, do yourself a favor and give this product a listen!

This review is on a Bose Smart Soundbar 600 with Dolby Atmos and Voice Assistant. Product is packaged nicely including good protection for shipping. Soundbar has a nice flat black color. It is a compact design but still sounds great. The speakers are on the front, top and sides. It sounds great in a large room but I believe it will probably work better in a smaller room. They produce sounds from all directions while listening to movies with Dolby. While listening to an orchestra, it sounds as if they are right in front of me. The new A.I. Dialogue Mode does a terrific job of separating the dialogue from the rest. When I turn up the volume, I can hear a difference in the way it sounds. It is like a different equalizer setting is used. I think this might be due to A.I. If you don't like it, you can turn it off. Setup was easy with the Bose app. Once I turned it on and opened the app, it found the soundbar immediately. Then I configured my Wi-Fi with no problems even with my SSID hidden. There was an update for about 5 minutes. Connecting Alexa to the speaker was by just signing in. Using Alexa is 10x better than the basic Alexa speakers. However, I was not able to set it up as a group with other speakers in Alexa. When I select it in Alexa app, it says it is offline and won't let me make changes to it even though everything else works. Still, this is a great choice for a soundbar.

I'm sorry to hear you're not enjoying your Smart Soundbar, Michael! The Smart Soundbar is designed to supply the rich, high-quality Bose audio you're used to. Don't forget to activate AI Dialogue Mode, which provides ultra-crisp vocal clarity using machine learning. In the Bose app, just tap "Audio", and then "AI Dialogue Mode" to toggle the setting on. You can also use the app to adjust the centre, height, bass and treble volumes of your soundbar, so do give that a try. I hope this information is useful!
