However had trouble with remote staying synced and because this was for my wife’s TV, decided to return it. I could handle how to readjust it but not for her to understand. Not a technical person and I didn’t want to bother to keep explaining.

And honestly, I'm not overly impressed. The sound is very bass-heavy, and while this is great for certain things like music, it's very annoying for anything else. Watching an action movie? Prepare to fiddle with both your TV settings and the bass-level settings on this thing for a good amount of time before you can hear anything over the explosions or other sound effects. I also wish I could have known that the Solo 5 is apparently an "all-in-one" system. Meaning, if this one speaker isn't doing it for you: too bad. You have no opportunities to add speakers to it. I'm gonna keep it and live with it for the time being, but I'm definitely going to buy into another speaker ecosystem. Like Sonos for instance. Sure the price is a bit more, but they sound better (imo) and you'll have opportunities for expansion.

If the system's bass response is higher than you'd like, you can activate "dialogue mode" using the remote, in addition to the bass settings that you have mentioned. Dialogue mode is activated by pressing the speech bubble icon on the remote. The LED on the soundbar will turn to an amber color. This decreases bass and will make speech clearer in your movies and shows.
For troubleshooting purposes, we would also recommend making sure that your TV's internal speakers are disabled or muted. This will avoid an echo that can occur when both sets of speakers are playing simultaneously.

Ease of pairing makes it an absolute delight. For an entry level soundbar it does have an amazing sound with cool 3d surround sound. Esp that "helicopter" sound coming from left and right. Overall an amazing soundbar from Bose.

It's not through the rooftop or theater house shaking but for a medium size room, the sound is amazing. Bose is a quality brand like Apple so you pay more than other brands but think it's worth it for the clarity and listening enjoyment. Plus all in a compact design!

It has superb separation and just enough base to fill the room. The only issue with it is you can only raise and lower the volume with the Bose remote. The unit doesn't recognize adjusting the volume from the TV when using the optical connection.

At the price point it really cant be beat by any of the other comparably priced models out there, especially if you are looking to save on space. The reason for the 4 star rating: This bose model lacks a bit of the sound quality of its higher end siblings and the remote is clunky and feels cheap.
