It's not to loud but loud enough to give my TV that extra push to get a cinematic sound for movies and watching sporting events that make my living room come to life with the full richness of sound experience. Has a dialogue setting which allows me to better understand the spoken word. Perfect in my "older" age. Improves the TV sound greatly for such an inexpensive unit.

It sounded very good in the store, but when I got it home, I was disappointed. The sound was lacking bass. Hooking it up to my TV was easy. I returned it as it was not the Bose quality i had hoped for.

However, even when I turn the volume up, it's not loud enough for my elderly father. If you need a sound system loud enough to rattle the windows, this isn't it.
