    Good, Bad and Ugly

    I purchased 2 of these because the sound quality is exceptional. However, I will never purchase Bose again. I use these instead of the speakers on my Samsung TV (TV speakers are below poor quality). Then why the 2 rating? The speakers do not come with a "wall-wart" to charge the battery. That is an extra $15. The instructions are USELESS! I found a good instruction manual from the internet on apparently a 3rd party web site. The Bose web site had the same as the paper that came with the speaker. I have NO problem with no instructions in the box as I prefer to download a pdf manual and keep it on the computer. The above dropped the rating down to a 3. The reason for a 2 is because I went to download the Bose Connect app and it requires access to "location" on my phone. I DON"T keep my location on as it runs the battery down quickly. I see NO reason for the location requirement. Reading the reviews of the app others have the same issue with the app. Look closely at the reviews and you will see a lot of people have issues with the app. BOSE you lost a customer!

    Disappointing; buyer beware

    I purchased this product in January 2017. I have used it a lot in that period of time, mostly to listen to music from my bluetooth products (iphone and ipad). However, I went to use it last week after recharging it, and it wouldn't turn on at all. I tried a lot of options (different charging cable, different docking station), and nothing worked. I'm going to take it to a local Bose store and see what they tell me. I've read reviews on other web sites, and there are other customers who have experienced the same problems. So, "buyer beware" is a good phrase for this product.

    Original way better IMO

    Well I was purchasing this based mainly on the sound quality and bass of my original Bose color soundlink. That was a mistake. I was planning to use it for music on job sites outdoors and seemed like a good choice with the new rubberized casing and water-resistant features. If you have the original and are expecting the same bass and quality then look elsewhere. Admittedly it's got clear sound but there's a lot of treble in comparison. This is not even close IMO. I'm usually brand loyal and as much as I like Bose I'm considering returning for another brand or locating a new original color soundlink. Hope this helps.

    Be aware that when you purchase this item you will not receive everything you need! I was extremely disappointed to realize that you are supposed to charge the speaker by plugging the USB cord into a USB wall outlet charger, but it wasn't included in the box!! I had to go back to Best Buy and spend another $20 bucks for a USB wall charger to charge the speaker!! Disappointing for such a name brand like Bose.

    This speaker color is great, but the sound is just ok, and the charging port is poor. The charging port would stop working within 4 months on this speaker. I luckily bought the extended Warrenty on this and exchanged it 3 times. The last time I choose another speaker, it’s just not with the hassle. I’m extremely let down with Bose on this one.

    Speaker is great, charger is terrible

    I have had two of these, they did replace first one, but found it wasn't the speaker it's the way it charges the plug gets bent and won't connect to charge. So they need to improve the charging cord. The speaker is great and nothing wrong with it but I can't charge it so it's worthless ! Very disappointed and looking for a better hopefully Bose solution.

    Good sound, but annoying

    Lives up to the Bose name with the sound quality. Connectivity wise, it turns on randomly after you shut it off and drains the battery. Every time I turn on my computer, it let's me know it's connected. But when I walk into the room with my phone connected to it, it doesn't notify me. Bose has some issues to work with it.

    Don't waste your money, buy something else

    The only reason I gave this speaker 2 stars instead of 1 is because it actually has decent sound quality, but the battery in this speaker is absolutely garbage. It does not last anywhere near 8 hours. 4 hours at best. It will even die while its being charged. It could have a full battery, be plugged in and still go dead. I expected something much better for a Bose product.

    I've been searching for a mid priced bluetooth speaker. I have a Jabra Solemate that is limited. I also purchased a Klipsch Groove that I love. I was hoping the Soundlink II would surpass them both. It did not. I returned it and am loving my Klipsch Groove. Placed in a corner on a full charge it sounds amazing, relative to it's size and output.

    Decent speaker/crappy plug

    This is a decent speaker for the money, however the plug is not ideal and is very hard to use… In fact I cannot even plug it in myself, my son has figured out how to rig it in there but it is definitely not easy to do.. I have another Bose speaker that’s an older model and they should’ve left the charging station the way it was

    Overpriced Speaker

    Sound quality is just at OK, too many fails trying to get a phone calls over the speaker: connection, echoes, intermitents blackouts, plus a very low quality on sound over the phone calls. My main intention was to use as speaker phone. My patience was gone today. Planning to return to BB.

    Sound ok but battery doesnt last long

    Was looking for a speaker that could bring everything together. The sound is good but it is a pain because you have to keep charging the battery. I have only been able to get a few hours play time from it and than it has to plugged in again. Not for a long lasting speaker for Outside

    I love the sound of Bose products. The sound on the Soundlink does not disappoint. However, I was hoping that it could easily used by plugging in an aux cord instead of always connecting to bluetooth. It doesn't.

      We can confirm there is an AUX input on the side of the speaker, with an AUX input button found on the top in the form of a Circle with an arrow.

    I went to buy a Bose speaker because I wanted one for a long time but what I did learn is just because they have a big part of the market share does it mean they're the best. I ended up returning it in purchasing the Sony series speakers with extra Bass.

    I bought the Bose based on the name only. I should have done more research. Bluetooth pairing was simple, but the sound was all bass and midrange, very little treble. Returned the Bose the next day.

    purchased this speaker for my 15 year old neice. she loves it and plays music from her phone all the time. unfortunately this speaker gets 2 stars cause the music she listens to sounds like s*** so all i've heard come out of it sounds terrible.

    Well i of course purchased this item because it was water resistant & because it was by Bose.... to my surprise this item no longer charges for me to use.. i will be returning it to Best Buy today & will look into purchasing some other apparatus

    I've had it with portable bluetooth speakers. I haven't found any that last longer than maybe an hour or two, and this one is no exception. On the plus side it sounds good.

    Weak Sound

    Even though this has the Bose name on it the sound was weak and thin. And I'm not a fan of a lot of base as I listen to a lot of folks and classical music. I ended up returning it!

    I received this as a gift. When I tried to pair it with my Alexa, it wouldn't work. I spent two or three hours trying to get it paired, and it just wouldn't work.

      This system can be paired via Bluetooth to an Alexa system, and the audio from the Alexa system would instead play through the Bose speaker.
