This portable speaker is great for outdoor use. It will take on the rugged terrain or minor drops you give it. The sound is crisper than all other Best Buy choices in its size. If you are looking for more bass then I would not recommend this product. But it does live up to the Bose name when it comes to quality of sound. Definitely is waterproof (kayak tested) and easy to connect to any bluetooth. Only negative comment about this is the built in strap it comes with when attaching it to something. I would not see myself attaching this speaker to a handle bar or bag by the strap alone....not very secure once rubber strap is streched to connecting locking hole port. The speaker can be unattached with easy if brushed on a tree limp and hard bump on the road....which making it an expensive mistake if detached to wherever it was strapped down to...

Surprisingly good sound for a reasonablly priced compact sized, lightweight, waterproof speaker. Perfect for traveling, in the shower, or at the beach. Also great to be able to pair two speakers together for a stereo effect. Super easy to set-up and use.

The SoundLink Max delivers excellent sound quality (which BOSE is known for!) The speaker measures in at 10.5” x 5” x 4” which makes it very portable. The first thing I noticed was the building quality. It has a little heft, which I love, and the rope handle is a nice touch. The sound quality is amazing, which is nice is such a small package. Too many times, I have used bluetooth portable speakers, and the sound quality negates portability. The bass was not too much, and the mids sounded great. I am a big classical fan, and this speaker manages to perform well in the genre. For battery, we are looking at 20 hours at moderate volume. I was able to use the device for around 5 hours, low volume, and the device was still at 100%, which was crazy. I believe if you keep the device at a decent to low volume, you could possibly see better battery life in terms of hours. There is also a USB-C port you can use to charge a phone, which is a neat feature to have. You can never have enough ways to charge handy. Overall, this is a well-designed, excellent performing Bluetooth speak. This will be a daily driver for me and my family as the portablity and sound, along with excellent battery life make this a must have for us.

The Bose SoundLink Max Portable Bluetooth Speaker is an impressive piece of audio engineering and the Blue Dusk color is a nice touch too! The speaker is quite lightweight relative to the extremely impressive audio quality that it delivers. The deep base is stereo sound is really quite impressive and it will keep delivering such impressive audio for nearly 20 hours according to Bose on a single charge. When you're not charging the speaker, you can even use it to charge your phone! The speaker is charged by a USB-C charger (included). It has an IP67 Water and Dust resistance rating and so it's ready to go on your next adventure wherever that may take you. It weighs in at 4.7lbs and measures 4.73" H x 10.42" W x 4.13" D. It's definitely a companion you'll want with you wherever you're going. The handle at the top is detachable should you want to remove it. Setup was exceptionally easy using the Bose app on iOS. The app is also available on the Google Play store for those with an Android based phone or tablet. You can easily connect to the speaker using the app, Bluetooth or the Aux connection. I would definitely recommend this speaker to anyone looking for a speaker to take on the road with them!

This speaker has been a total lifesaver for my ears! As someone who loves listening to music and podcasts throughout the day, I was starting to get tired of having my AirPods in constantly. Purchased as a gift for my middle-school son who wanted something portable with better sound quality than a loud cell-phone. This definitely fits the bill, as the sound quality is excellent and what I would expect from a Bose product. Connecting to a smartphone or other Bluetooth device was quick and easy and my child was able to get the speaker up and running and listen to music without opening the manual. Although we have not tested its waterproofing feature, the black rubber shell seems thick, durable and likely to survive being dropped or banged around. The controls are minimal and self-explanatory, and the unit can be recharged with common USB cabling (which was included with the product). I am not sure how reliable the rudimentary clasping mechanism on the strap will be after some use and wear and tear but time will tell. The price seems a little high for what you get (hence the four-star rating) but I presume the "Bose" branding increases the price.

Bose really delivers, just like the reviews say. It is a mighty fine little speaker with excellent sound quality and volume in a handy shape you can slip in a jacket pocket. Perfect for traveling, bedroom, home office, etc. And waterproof! Great gift item.

You get the Bose quality at such a great price that you cannot pass it up. This speaker connects seamlessly to multiple devices and provides long lasting great sound with plenty of volume for most get togethers. I use mine daily from the shower, to the office, on the golf course, and around the house. The Flexible yet sturdy band on the back allows you to affix the speaker to almost anything which is super convenient. I am so pleased that I actually bought another one for my son. I would highly recommend this product.

This has huge bass, especially for a Bose product. I was totally blown away when I turned this little bad boy up. I love that it is waterproof and it definitely feels rugged. I will not be hesitant to take this biking or out in the woods and I am already turning this on when I wake up in the morning and just bringing into the shower so I don't have to stop listening to my audiobook or music. This speaker is the ultimate multi-functioning sound machine. It's small enough to take anywhere and produces better and bigger sound than much larger and more expensive speakers. Bose really put a lot of thought into this one and produced another winner!

I am quite pleased with it; the battery life is excellent. Furthermore, it appears to be quite durable. However, the only aspect that I find less than ideal is the low volume of the talkback system.

This this is amazing!!!!! I had lost this outside in flood season for 2 months. Then I found it on my uncovered patio! I seriously thought it was a goner. It worked perfectly! There were two different floods in the 2 months.

Super portable and remains clear at high volume. This thing fills space well and while of course you can't expect a lot of low end, the amount you'll hear when you're not on top of it is impressive. Love that you can pair for stereo or multi-cast in party mode - very cool and straightforward. Like any Bose Bluetooth speaker (we have 4 different kinds), make sure you read the manual on how to complete a factory reset.

You can definitely use it anywhere it has a great sound.The battery can last up to 8 hours is small is waterproof as easy to use For construction areas you can hung it anywhere!

I expected this speaker to be good because Bose is known for a quality product but I didn't think it would be this good. The compact design, downsizing subwoofer, crisp sound, and battery life are great. The charge time was a little lackluster when first charging. Sound wise I tested it initially using When the lever breaks by Led Zeppelin (it's a great go to for testing any sound product honestly) and I was surprised at how clear the mids and highs were and how rich the bass was. It's not as warm as a larger Bose or Sonos speaker but for a budget speaker....really good. I bought it on sale at 79.99 from the original 99 but I'd recommend this to anyone any day.
