Happy with this product! The sound is clear and sharp! We are trying to pair this with another Bose device, but we did not find clear on-line instructions for pairing it with a sound bar.

This Bose speaker is my new go-to for portable audio. I am not an audiophile with specially trained ears, but I have used a lot of speakers the last several years and this is by far the best I have used for the size. I compared this speaker to a similar sized one, with a similar intended purpose as an outdoor “patio & pool side” companion. Compared to a speaker I thought sounded pretty good, I found that the Bose speaker has a much richer, warmer sound. The bass in particular was notable not so much because it was booming, but rather it added an excellent fullness to the sound that was noticeably lacking in the speaker I was using for comparison purposes, although I didn’t realize what I was missing until I heard the Bose playing the same song. Across a variety of songs from several different genres I found this speaker produced exception sound accuracy for its size, not muddy or distorted at higher volume. While I don’t generally listen to my music at max volume, I look at this speaker as intended for an outdoor event/party so I cranked it all the way up as a test. The sound meter app on my phone reached a high of 114 db, and I was impressed by how well the sound propagated throughout a full 360-degree sound field. Put this speaker in the middle of your party and it will cover the whole space pretty evenly. You shouldn’t have to worry about battery life as it should exceed pretty much any event. I gave the speaker a full charge right out of the box before doing anything. After connecting it through the smartphone app it ran a lengthy update, after which the power registered 90%. I thought this would be bad as it seemed that the battery life dropped so rapidly, but I guess the update was just power intensive because over the course of the next several days I ran it a total of 22 hours at home and at work. The power still indicated 10% at that point, but I ruined the test by charging the speaker so that it wouldn’t run out on me the next day! The build quality of this speaker feels top notch. It simply feels really solid, and there is nothing "plastic-y" about it. The body has a rugged metal casing that doesn’t deform at all under pressure, even around the perforated base. The finish appears to be very scratch resistant and shows absolutely no fingerprints even after several days of frequent handling. The bottom has a nice thick rubber pad which provides a slip free, stable base. The top, including the control buttons is a smooth, soft rubber material that like the metal housing, seems to be impervious to fingerprinting. The buttons themselves are satisfyingly “clicky” and responsive. One nice thing that I hadn’t seen in the documentation was the inclusion of a threaded socket in the center of the base. This allows you to attach this speaker to a tripod, which just feels like the perfect way to position this speaker up at a good height to really allow the audio to cover a wide area better than just plopping the speaker on a table. I only had one speaker, so I can’t do a two-speaker setup to get stereo sound, but I think this would also be improved by the tripod mounting method. I’m not really sure if I would call this speaker water proof, so much as “splash resistant”. This is because there is no way to seal over the power/USB connection or the Aux in jack. Other speakers that I have that bill themselves as beach and pool type speakers include a rubber cover over the plugs which would not only keep out water, but small particulates like beach sand. I also wouldn’t want to get water inside the perforated base because even if the inside components could conceivably survive, I don’t see any way to effectively get it out again. Connecting this speaker to both my phone and an inexpensive Bluetooth enabled mp3 player I use at work was extremely simple and didn’t require the Connect App. The voice prompts were very clear and think some of the least mechanical/computerized I have heard in speakers or headphones I own. I did download the app on my phone and the app offers a simplified connection method (certainly better than the settings menu on my phone) that scans for the device, and connects with a swipe. I also liked that it allowed control of the music playback basic functions in app. Oddly, while my phone connected both with and without the app while testing, my Samsung tablet staunchly refused to connect at all, no matter what I did, until I downloaded the app and ran the connection from that. While the app was a slicker connection method, I don’t really like that it was the only way I could get the speaker to link up with my tablet as that too me makes the connection less flexible. A couple of other little things I came across I thought were worth mentioning. First, while this speaker certainly had a premium look, feel and sound quality I was surprised that Bose didn’t include at least a basic carrying bag or something similar for toting this speaker around. It is something that I have found is extremely common even in much, much less expensive speakers, and it just felt oddly cheap to leave out of the box. Also, this speaker doesn’t come with a charger, just a USB cable. While most people have chargers laying around It seems like a charger that is optimized for the power consumption of the speaker would have been a nice inclusion. I also realized upon looking at the bottom of the speaker that it has the ability to be set on a charging base, and I think that would have been a nicer touch to put in the box than the USB cable. I have purchased speakers in the past that included such charging bases as part of the purchase of the device. I searched online for the charging base and I guess they are available for over $30, so I guess I will just stick with the cable method for the time being. Because of the combination of these several small items I decided it was a 4, not 5-star speaker. While I really do like this speaker, my expectations are just a little bit higher for this product because of the price point and reputation of the manufacturer. It’s the best sounding speaker its size that I now own, and I would still recommend it despite the small issues I mentioned above.

I'm sorry to hear of your disappointment! Moving the SoundLink Revolve II away from walls or corners to decrease bass, or moving it closer to increase bass, may help you achieve the sound you're looking for. I'd also recommend testing the speaker with a second mobile device to compare performance. Our support team will also be happy to help, if needed: https://support.bose.com/s/get-help-landing-page?language=en_US. Warm regards, Fiona M. - Bose Customer Support bose

So many attributes, I'll begin w physical. It has a cylindrical shape less than 6" tall, and has a well designed tapered base of about 3" narrowing to about 2 1/2". The speaker weighs a tad more than a pound. In short, it is extremely portable, and easily placed almost anywhere. The superb sound ( to include more bass than i would have imagined) radiates 360 degrees. Place this speaker in the middle of an activity and the tunes will be equally enjoyed regardless of position. The speaker is powered by a battery that provides at least 12 hours of listening per charge, and is easily charged via a the enclosed USB cable. Listening while charging is a nice bonus. I did kinda test the water resistance rating by gently splashing water on the speaker and it shrugged off the droplets without any interior seepage I could discern. The seamless one piece mesh screen was well designed, as were the controls on the flat top of the cylinder shape. Water just rolled off, and the controls for volume, power, bluetooth pairing provided excellent tactile response. You could feel and hear the success of each push on a control.Speaking of controls and pushes, Bose built in voice prompts were very well. Each on and off push of the power button provided battery status such as battery now at 80%. The Bose Connect app is straight forward and allowed easy management of the speaker and all needed information. Any app I opened on my iPhone regarding music or speech automatically produced sound on the speaker. I could voice command via Apple's Siri and both make and take phone calls with ease. This Bose speaker provided much better sound clarity than that of my iPhone or iPad speakers. i enjoyed phone calls because of the excellent volume and tone of the Bose speaker. I do not have 2 speakers, but Bose has built in a Party Mode which enables simultaneous sound from an additional speaker and even a stereo setting to separate left and right channels of sound. I could not have managed more ease of quality musical enjoyment from such a small speaker -- I highly recommend this bluetooth speaker.

The sound is really very poor. The only good thing they have is that they are easy to pair. Except their videos and web site differ on just what should be done. Which also differs from the set-up booklet that comes with it. Contacting customer service was very difficult over text and the phone.
