The Revolve is a great sounding Bluetooth speaker with a long lasting battery. It doesn’t quite get as loud as I would prefer, especially when using the speaker phone function. But there isn’t much distortion at high volume settings, which is nice. The bass is nicely prevalent without being overbearing and the highs are crisp and not muddy. I would like to see Bose update the SoundLink speakers to have WiFi connect ability so to have the ability to be integrated in a home system.

I’ve always been a fan of Bose and this speaker doesn't disappoint. It’s a great size to take wherever and the battery is awesome. The sound is clear and loud enough to compete with speakers 5x in size. My only complaint is the Bluetooth range is a bit shorter than I’d like. But as long as your device is in the same room as the speaker you should be good.

For a little guy this speaker has great sound. The blue tooth attachment makes it easy to use for my Smartphone. My music plays loud and clear as I work out on the thread mill.

I like that it is cylinder and that it gives you sound from every direction. It is light, portable, and has a sleek look. It plays pretty loud with some base. Other speakers I've listened to had sound but no base so base was important to me.

    Bluetooth Speaker With A Twist

As a general rule, I'm not a big fan of "portable' speakers. If I want to listen to music, I turn on the home stereo and choose the proper input - CD, Pandora, AirPlay, etc...Call me old (I prefer the term Vintage). I have to admit, there are times where having a portable speaker is handy. Working in the yard, the garage (I do have a stereo there too), sitting on the patio (I have outdoor speakers)...clearly there's a market for them, I'm just not the target demographic. However...Bose did something unique - they added a microphone! They might not be the first to have done this, but this is the first I've seen. So now you can make phone calls (or Skype, FaceTime, etc) from the same device. Pretty slick. Pairing to my iPhone was easy - I assume it'll also be easy for Android users as well. There's a Bose Connect app which allows you to control certain other functions, but not critical to the operation. It does allow you do turn off voice prompts - if my wife had to hear "Connected to Dave's iPhone. Disconnected from Dave's iPhone. Ready to connect. Ready to connect. Ready to connect." she was going to strangle me. Phew. One more day without marriage counseling. Let's talk sound quality... There's the old adage - No highs. No lows. It's gotta be Bose - and there's always been a bit of truth to that. That said, Bose makes a quality product. Is it "accurate"? Eh. Does it have a flat frequency response? Maybe? Does it allow you to enjoy your music? Yes! I felt the Revolve got plenty loud for my liking. I thought there was a warmth listening to different music (rock, pop, etc) that wasn't exhausting to listen to for extended periods of time. I didn't use it long enough to check battery life, but it lasted for several hours at moderate volume. It also provides a nice 360* listening environment. Spinning the Revolve around, I wasn't able to locate the exact position of the internal speakers. I made a few phone calls using the microphone and nobody complained. On the speaker end it seemed to level out different voices pretty well. Different people speak at different volumes, but they seemed to level out very nicely. I want to find a way to use this in the office as it'd be great in a conference room. Bose also included a 3.5mm input for those who don't/can't use bluetooth. Again, this isn't a big deal, but nice to have. I would absolutely recommend this to a friend. It is perfect for smaller rooms where you just want to listen to music. My name is Dave and I'm a member of Best Buy's Tech Insider Network. I was sent this at no charge in exchange for an honest review. I'm a life-long techie with a real job and just do this for fun.

The new Soundlink Revolve was worth every minute of the wait! This little guy is very compact, with a slightly conical, beer can shape, and while small in stature, can fill a room as well as its larger Soundlink 3 brethren. I'm coming from a Jabra Solemate and several smaller waterproof Anker and iHome speakers, and this is definitely the best sounding of my bunch as it relates to clear, rich, LOUD sound! This thing is also made with some premium body materials. The Revolve seems to be constructed from some type of Magnesium/Aluminum core body with a top-cap control panel that is rubberized and seems quite durable. Some very durable and textured polycarbonates bring up the base, making this a seemingly rugged device, yet upscale enough in appearance that I'd wished they included a carry bag/protector case of some kind. Knowing BOSE that will come along as a pricey accessory just in time for back-to-school or the holiday shopping season! The volume range is excellent. I took some time to get this review in so that I could try the speaker as the sole background music provider at a few spring family functions, including a kids party where princess movie soundtracks easily filled our party of 100 and lasted way longer than the 4 hour party.People could even hear the songs clearly over the chatter of our party room. I really don't have any complaints, other than the lack of protective gear and the relative sensitivity to scratches and dings the body seems to have due to the premium materials, and one other thing that we shouldn't even be talking about in 2017 when it comes to premium brands - The USB connector! Why, BOSE, why! Why did you put MicroUSB on this new flagship portable device instead of the now-almost-standard USB Type C! This device isn't particularly thin or small where the Type C port would cost you form over function, and these kinds of new portable devices should ALL be standardizing on the new connector, particularly those that were developed so recently and are being released as a new form factor and new model in 2017. If this had Type-C connectivity for charging/updates/etc. It would be an easy 5-star device. Since a charging cradle is offered this is a lesser issue, but it still bothers me to see those tiny, one-way, fault-ridden ports on modern, premium devices such as this.

For 2017 BOSE has released a couple new wireless bluetooth speakers. Both the SoundLink Revolve and the SoundLink Revolve+ allow you to wirelessly send sound from your bluetooth compatible device (phone, tablet, computer) to the small portable speaker. For this review, I tried the smaller SoundLink Revolve. Upon opening the packaging, I was surprised how small the speaker is. It's about the size of a can of soda. This lends itself pretty well to its portable nature. I plugged the speaker into the cable and the wall wart for a charge. There is a charging dock, but that item is sold separately. I highly recommend getting the dock if you plan to move the speaker to different locations frequently. Having to replug the charging cable every couple of days becomes a little bit of a nuccessence. After the charging session, I was able to pair the speaker with my iPhone without issue. It wasn't as seamless as devices that including Apple's new W1 chip, but bluetooth pairing is pretty simple these days. I think the days of troublesome pairings are gone for most quality products. First thing I tried was some music from Spotify. I was pleasantly surprised with the sound. It wasn't too bad. Maybe good for a dorm room or an outdoor patio space. The 360 sound was nice but I typically shove my speakers in a corner somewhere, so that functionality is often lost. Sound is very particular to each person and the type of music they listen to, so it's often hard to cover too much of that in a review but this does a nice job in a small form factor. I'm a little surprised in 2017 that BOSE hasn't added WiFi functionality to either of the Revolve speakers. I'm not a huge fan of having to leave my phone near the speaker whenever I want to listen to something. There are other products in a similar price range that play 360 degree sound and can stream music and podcasts from service providers wirelessly over your wifi network. I feel that overall this speaker is really intended for the BOSE fan who needs a portable speaker where there might be no wifi signal. Maybe a beach, a hotel room or a backyard patio far away from a house. The sound and charge life are good, just feel the whole package could have been a bit better.

Out of the box, this small speaker impressed me and our whole family. It filled our entire house with clear and equalized tunes. Turn it louder and it just gets better sounding with no distortion. It connected easily. The connection did go out of range when the connected device wandered too far away (the only negative so far). Have not tried pairing yet.
