Customers enjoy the SoundSport Free True Wireless Headphones for their excellent sound quality, comfortable fit, and long battery life. The charging case is also well-received for its convenience. However, some users have experienced connectivity issues, find the design to be bulky, and feel that the price is not justified by the product's performance.

Great product. Sound quality is unparalleled, Bluetooth works great, and fits the ears quite comfortably and securely. Bose always hits a homer. Love that you can charge them on the go in their case.

These headphones are awesome!! The sound is perfect! When I am using my phone and I want to connect to another device, I you just simply press the left headset and it switches between previously connected devices. Some headaches for me would be when I’m super sweaty, the headphones will slowly fall out of my ears and trying to connect a new devices. I always have to refer back to my app to remember how to connect them to another device. Sometime I play the music from my watch so I don’t have to run with my phone, but during the time I trying to connect them with my watch was a little irritating. I love these headphones outside of those two small issues!

Great on Music, Not on Calls

I love Bose and have for many years. Couldn't wait to get these after having Bluetooth Beats.
My wife gave these to me as as a Christmas gift and I connected them to my iPhone X. The sound was great right away, and even better once I used an EQ app; wow what a difference. Clear with great range in the highs, mids and lows.
I make a lot of conference calls, and this was the game changer. The left earbud does NOT work during calls. I called Bose Customer Service, and they confirmed this is how they operate during phone calls, with no plans for any fix, for this specifically, anytime in the near future. Not even the latest firmware download could fix this. If you've ever listened to a transistor radio; welcome back in time.
I unfortunately will be returning these to Best Buy. I will keep an eye out for a change in this flaw, as I really enjoyed these for music.

I just got them today, so far, they have not disappointed me. They sound great, and they are comfortable in the ear. I personally am an Apple product junkie, but I chose not to go that route with wireless earbuds, mainly it’s a comfort issue for me. The soft silicone around these feel great, hard plastic earbuds make my ears hurt with prolonged use. I’ve worn these most of the day and did not have that issue. Now, the only downfall is, don’t expect to be about doing yard work and not hear yard equipment. These have dynamic sound, but the volume level isn’t very high, they’re not noise cancelling. They are, however, great for the gym or talking on the phone, etc...

I am enjoying the sound quality of these headphones and they are comfortable to wear. The way they fit in the ear holds it in place and you don't feel like you're going to lose them. It did take a little getting used to because if you're not playing music and have them on to answer calls, they will disconnect to save battery and you may not realize it. However, they are actually on stand-by and if you get a call and press the button it will re-connect quickly. The charging case is not too bulky and will charge them up a couple of times before the case needs charging All in all, a great buy.

I am a huge fan of wireless buds mostly because they are easier to carry around and I don't have to worry about wires getting tangled. The design of these ear buds were great. I loved the hook that helped hold the buds in place. The sound quality was great and connecting the buds to my phone was fairly easy. The battery life wasn't what I expected. I got a good 4 hours out of them before the battery started to die and I guess I was expecting a longer battery life. They charge pretty quickly and having a portable charging bank for the earbuds is a definite plus. My only complaint is when watching videos, there was a delay in the video and the sound from my ear buds, I could tell the words were slightly off by at least a second.

Great sound, May have disconnection issue

Great sound, easy to use. Only problem is the disconnection issue. I went through 2 pairs; the first pair I had started out great then day by day got worse as they disconnected 4-5 times per song. I swapped them out for another pair and the new pair seems to be good. They disconnect once every so often but not enough to drive you crazy...like my first pair did. Not sure if it's a design flaw or just the technology itself. But the sound quality is great and they stay in my ear so I'm good to go.

Great sound, very easy to use, secure fit. I read alot of negative reviews that stated there were connection problems and a delay when watching videos. I am here to tell you that with the latest firmware updates this is no longer a problem. There is no delay whatsoever when watching videos and movies. The connection is perfect in both earbuds and i can go at least 25 feet from my phone before the connection starts to suffer. I have owned several pairs of truely wireless earbuds and these are by far the best sounding and the loudest. Highly recomended.

Had these for 2 years. Good connectivity great sound good fit they were tight but comfortable. The only issue I had was the left ear died on me so I switched to the Jabra 75t elite which were smaller but hated them so then I switch over to the beats pro and felt they were as good if not better. If using Apple products I would suggest the beats as they are a Apple product themselves there is more compatibility. Otherwise for an older product good by

I had been using Raycon buds forever and was very pleased! I thought they were great. Last week I lost one bud doing yard work which sent me to BB to look for something in stock, I didn’t want to wait days to receive.
After reading what seemed like hundreds of reviews I decided to treat myself to a pair of Bose Sound Sport Free headphones and man alive was I glad I did! I thought I had great sound before until I used the Bose, OMG! These buds are the real deal! Great full sound, and bass. They fit great and are easy to setup and use.
I’m sticking with Bose from now on, worth every penny!

When I use these for running they stay in my ears and sound clear. They are easy to pair to my phone with the use of the Bose app and the battery life has given me no problems so far. My only complaint is that when using them for audio while watching videos on both my phone or my laptop the audio lags behind the video. While this isn't an issue for just listening to music don't expect to use them for much else. I even went and made sure everything was updated in the app.

Thank you for this feedback. We’ve heard from some customers who are experiencing audio synchronization delays while watching videos. We know truly wireless headphones are subject to some latency between audio and video, but the feedback we’ve received indicated the product wasn’t performing how we expected.
A SoundSport Free software update is now available to improve audio-video synchronization for most customers and use situations. You can download the new software wirelessly through the Bose Connect app or by visiting btu.bose.com on your computer. This update will benefit customers with Bluetooth devices that fully support Audio Video Distribution Transport Protocol (AVDTP) version 1.3 or later. We have confirmed Apple iPhones and iPads use this protocol and we continue to evaluate other popular Bluetooth devices. Audio-video synchronization may also vary depending on the mobile app being viewed (e.g. Netflix, YouTube). We encourage customers to use the most recent software for your mobile apps, Bluetooth devices, and Bose headphones.
If you have any questions or concerns, we encourage you to contact us directly at our Customer Support Line at 1-800-379-2073. We're open Mon-Fri, 9 AM to 8 PM. Or you can follow us on Twitter @BoseService.

Overall the headphones sounded great. The base is awesome. I was under the impression the size was smaller based on the picture. One problem I had with the headphones was that whatever I was listening to was audible to people standing close by. I felt there was a lack of discretion/privacy. If I were only working out with the headphones, they would be great. The charge on the buds lasted quite some time and the case held a charge pretty well too.

I had a $35 in reward and 10% off coupon So, I decided to buy a pair of bose Sound Sports free which was already on sale for $169.99, I immediately opened it and made a call, I thought I had a defective piece as I can only hear from the right sound piece. I did so research and found that that's part of the design. The right earbud is a master and left one is the slave. So, calls are only handled by right ear bud. However, if you stream music a lot then you can not go wrong with Bose. It pretty much live up to the reputation.
I use it a lot for audible and making calls so, I decided to exchange it for a Jabra Elite 65T, and I was more disappointed with it than Bose. It was uncomfortable, loose in the ear and sound quality will not even come close to Bose. So, despite having love hate relationship, I exchanged it again for pair of Bose and decided I am going to keep it.
It is extremely comfortable in the ear and I don't mind parking it on my ear rather than keeping it in the charging case.
I also noticed that, I don't have sound sync issue with any other video but for YouTube, it has little bit of lag which is kind of irritating.
So, my ratings are
Sound : 10/10
Comfort: 9/10
Technology: 4/10 (vs. competitor: Airpod & Jabra)
App: 7/10
Video streaming: 6/10 (Youtube lag issue )
Phone call: 1/10
Hope they do a firmware update soon to fix these issue, I really would like love my Bose but I have a love hate relationship going on.

I've had these SoundSport wireless earbuds for about 6 months now. I've been thoroughly pleased with the sound quality, the charge times and length of continuous use.
When I first bought them I wasn't sure how securely they'd fit and stay in my ear. That has not been an issue whatsoever.
I use an iphone and an ipad and frequently like to switch which device I am listening from. The BoseConnect App helps make switching back and forth a breeze compared to the process I used to have to go through with some of my older BlueTooth devices.
I can't imagine a better set of wireless earbuds!

Love them, sound great, Holds a charge great. Batteries could last a little longer, but they get me through a workout and run no problem. They work for about 2 hours depending on volume and such, but re-charge fast. Case will charge them 5 times I think before it needs to be re-charged so on a long flight you might need to take a 15 minute break to re-charge them every 2 hours or so.
Phone calls are crystal clear as well.
oh and they stay in my ears rock solid, almost never have to touch them after I put them in.

Frequently Disconnects
|
|

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
The right ear bud is the main controller which connects to the phone and the left ear bud. You can wear just one ear bud as long as it's the right one. Wearing just the left one does nothing if the right one is disconnected. While wearing these and going for a walk, the left earbud frequently disconnects (audio completely drops out) then MOST of the time it will reconnect right away. If it doesn’t, you have to click the pairing button on the left ear bud to get it to reconnect. This happens very frequently. It is rare to make it all the way through a song without the left ear bud cutting out at least 2-4 times. Again, the right bud is the main controller and always has an uninterrupted connection to the phone, so the issue remains with the connection between the left and right ear buds. Also, when using for a phone call, you only have audio on the right ear bud. Not a deal breaker, but I've had other headsets that give you audio from both headsets and it really does make it easier to hear the person on the other end. Lastly, these are supposed to be able to pair with other Bluetooth devices, such as laptops, but there are a surprising number of people having issues with this, myself included. I have been a Bose user for decades, and found myself very disappointed with this product, especially at this price point. I'm very unhappy that I've had these too long to return and exchange for a different brand. The only reason for the second star is sound quality. Come on Bose, you're better than this!

Hello. Thank you for sharing your experience with the SoundSport Free wireless headphones. We appreciate this feedback. You are correct in that the right ear bud is used as the "main" bud. These headphones were engineered to use the right ear bud only during phone calls. The connectivity issues you've reported are concerning, as these headphones were designed to provide a more consistent experience.
