this is one of bose's lower priced earphones, but the quality is high. i had previously owned their ie2 and it was a great pair of earphones to bring everywhere. this is an upgraded version with nicer colors for personalization

I have tried out urBeats, PowerBeats, and PowerBeats2 Wireless. These beat out (no pun intended) Beats by a large margin!! These even have better bass!!! I was going to spring for the cheaper $100 regular headphones, but I sprang for these since I usually go heavy on the cardio (and we have 110 degree summers where I live). If you're on the fence between these and another pair, get these first!

Stopped Working After 2 Years

I bought a pair for my girlfriend and my father as gifts. I bought a pair for myself as well. They were $150 each. We liked the headphones but my girlfriends right headphone stopped working after a little over 2 years. My dad's right headphone stopped working and then both stopped working after 1 1/2 years. We have attempted to get help from Bose to no avail. 2 out 3 don't work. I always was under the impression that it was worth spending the extra money to get good quality, not the case with these. Really a shame I have purchased multiple speakers from Bose and was always a fan but I will not be purchasing from them after these results.

Dirt can cause what you're describing, either in the headphone ports or on the metal connector. One thing to try is blowing out the ports with compressed air and cleaning the metal connector with a clean cloth and isopropyl alcohol. If that does not work, we do have other options. Do Not Buy- They will break

I purchased these at Best Buy and now I am on my 3rd pair. So instead of going back to Best buy I went to the Bose Store, the kids working there told me there were no documented issues with these earphones. Clearly that is not true(check any website including Bose). Plus the customer service I received in the store was horrible. I have $10k+ of Bose equipment and always am impressed with the quality of the sound, but I now will refuse to purchase another product until they get their customer service to best in class I am now on my 3rd pair in 3 weeks. The mic and volume breaks with very little exposure to moisture, causing volume to shoot up to 100% and mic becomes useless. It’s time for Bose to realize they made a faulty product and own up to it. DO NOT BUY THESE EARPHONES THEY WILL BREAK!!
