Nice headphones, a little bulky but fit ears nicely. Could use higher volume levels in noisy environments.

Great sound from base to highs and easy to pair with Bluetooth. The only con is there is wind noise when riding a bike.

As with all Bose products I've tried, these earbuds have excellent sound. I'm not an audiophile by any means, but any time I use these I enjoy the clarity and range not found in other headphones. The bluetooth works great, connects fast, and the range is much better than less expensive bluetooth headphones I've used. I've used some earbuds in the pat that lose connection with my phone in my back pocket, but these have no problem keeping a strong static free connection. The earbuds are comfortable, but take some getting used to. The tips don't sit as far down into the ear as the earbuds I'm used to, so they felt strange at first as I kept trying to shove them deeper in my ear and they felt uncomfortable. Once I figured out they sit shallower in the ear than other earbuds, I realized they are very comfortable. They also stay in place when exercising. I'm not much of a runner, but during biking and elliptical workouts, I had no issues with them slipping out. These are not the perfect earbuds however, the shallow ear fit means they don't block as much outside noise as earbuds that sit deeper and completely seal the ear. This may be beneficial for runners, but for me, the outside noise is distracting. I wouldn't wear these cutting grass or on a plane as the ambient noise would be too loud. The heart rate monitoring works well, but the Bose Connect app only shows your heart rate if you have the app open and on your actual screen. Any time you switch apps and switch back, the Bose Connect app has to read you heartrate. In other words, there is no continuous background heartrate tracking with the base Bose Connect app. However, a slew of 3rd party apps are available, and the one I tried maintained a continuous heart rate read, and the tracking did work. Overall I would recommend these to anyone looking for high quality wireless earbuds for exercise or any other activity that doesn't require high levels of outside noise. If you need heart rate tracking as well and don't want to wear a separate heart rate tracker, then these are for you.

I've tried a lot of headphones for working out and these by far, fit better than most and they have difference size ear pieces, which is great because OTS headphone rarely fit my tiny ears. However, I noticed that when I wear these outside to run, when the wind hits me head on I can hear it whistling in the headphones so I've to turn up my volume. I don't have that issue with other headphones that are lower profile because there isn't any wind friction. But with Bose technology, these stick out so the wind hits them making them not great for outdoor exercising on windy days. If you are an indoor workout person, then they'll be great for you. Again, not low-profile so you could hit them with certain movements if you aren't careful. The sound quality is good, the comfort is good, and they are lightweight, which is good. Hopefully the next gen can be smaller so they are more aerodynamic!

These head phones fit great. The wind shear on them is to loud though. I think they ear buds are a tad bigger than most because of the excellent sound it produces. On my runs I like to be in control of what songs are playing and skip songs time to time and boss didn't make these so you have the ability to skip songs on the ear phone controls. Also I found it very hard to get my app to work that they offer. I tried to use it with my running app and it wouldn't work also. So the heart rate monitor to me is useless because the boss app doesn't save your heart rate. It just gives it to you real time. I would recommend this for people working out but not running.

Overall these are nice earphones. I like that they're wireless which is one less thing to worry about getting hung up on something when riding my bike. Sound quality is good, though not very loud. I think that's due to these being an open air design. The wind while bike riding interferes a little too much. I haven't used it as a headset to receive phone calls so I can't comment to that. I like that these come with a clip on the cord. Just a little bit of extra security should they come out of your ear, which they haven't yet. I do wish they came in different colors, though the red on black isn't bad.

I am a Bose fan with several of their products including the incredible QC-35 noise cancelling headphones. So when I was looking for Bluetooth headphones to wear while biking I was looking forward to the same great experience that I have had using the QC-35. Unboxing is always a pleasure with Bose products as they always make a great impression. The headphones came with a 70% charge, which it announces to you when you turn it on, which allows you to set it up and use it immediately. The pairing with my phone and tablet were simple quick and familiar as all of this is the same as the QC-35. I immediately downloaded the Bose connect app and it downloaded a firmware update to the headphones. Sitting in the quietness of my home, I was able to listen to music, and use voice commands to make and receive calls and texts. Everything worked perfectly. Speaking in my natural volume, my calls and texts were clear and accurate. Another positive is the comfort. These are so comfortable, you can wear them for hours and I promise you will forget that you are wearing them. They also stay in place even when you try to shake out of your ears, you can't. Battery life is stated at 5 hours and I have exceeded that already. Of course another reason to purchase these is for the heart rate monitoring. I tested this against my heart monitor watch with a chest strap and I found the Soundsport Pulse to be very accurate. Now for the fatal flaw. I went on my first bike ride and I immediately experienced extremely loud wind noise. These headphones stick out of your ear, which I don't mind, but because they do they create a tremendous amount of wind noise. Apparently Bose forgot about aerodynamics when they designed these. The whooshing noise was not only annoying, but completely negated the voice controls. I tried repeatedly to call or text, but my phone could not understand my commands, despite talking as loud as I could. I finally stopped to make call which went through. However, as soon as I started riding the other party could no longer understand me over the whooshing noise. There was a lot of "What? , What did you say? Are you in traffic?" . By the time I finished, 1 1/2 hours later, my ears were ringing from being exposed to the wind noise. I did not expect these to block out outside noise, nor did I want that, as I need to hear cars coming from behind me. But I did not expect these to amplify wind noise and be useless for the main activity for which I purchased them. So now I have a nice headphone to wear around my house, or in the gym, but not for the outdoor sport for which they were intended. So I was torn between 5 stars for the excellent comfort and quality, and 1 star for the wind noise which made it useless for biking. So I will settle on 3 stars.

    Great headphones for working out!

Lets start with saying I always accidentally yanked my (wired) headphones out of my ears while working out, that it became a pet peeve. Problem solved with these! They are wireless, and connect to your phone very easily via bluetooth! The sound quality is awesome, as Bose lives up to their name. The heart rate monitor works okay, but not the best. They have a built in microphone and volume control which comes in handy if taking a call or listening to music. They are a little bulky (comments made from friends) in your ears, but they do stay in nice and tight. They come with different size rubber flanges for those different size ears. They do not block the sound of wind, I noticed, when using them to talk on the phone while driving with the windows down. Battery life is pretty good as I can get about 3 gym sessions in until a new charge is necessary. All in all, these headphones are great and I would recommend them for anybody who enjoys listening to music while at the gym.

At first glance with the design of these headphones one might feel they will be too heavy or bulky for the ears. I am here to tell you that's not true. Setup is easy with the Bose Connect app, these are "open" headphones in that they don't have to be shoved inside your ears, the downside is they don't block out noise but you really don't necessarily want that in a headphone set that you may be running or biking with in order to be able to react to your surroundings if necessary. They are also sweat and water resistant which is needed in a workout headphone pair. Speaking of physical activities the Soundsport Pulse headphones also have a heart rate monitor which is a cool added feature, the sensor for this is located in the left side headphone and is able to read your heart rate very easily. As for fit, with the ear tips on these headphones they fit very comfortably in the ear and absolutely don't fall out which was a concern of mine when I first looked at these. And now to what you would buy these for in the first place. . music...Sound quality is really good with rich bass and nice highs. Overall a great set of headphones.

I had previously purchased JBL Contour headphones before purchasing these. My PowerBeats broke after 3 years and I needed something that would be comfortable and excellent for working out since I do a lot of interval training and running. I bought these yesterday, wore them to the gym at night and I'm not disappointed! I'm a skeptic when it comes to headphones having only the fins on them instead of sitting around the ear because I'm always afraid they'll fall out when I'm running. These stayed in my ears the entire time with no irritation and I had no problems with sweat getting in them. Battery life is also fantastic; they come pre-charged at 60%. I charged them to 80% before the gym and I've used them for about 5 hours total so far (they're only at 60%). The sound quality is also superb versus most other ones I've tried, but I definitely expected this from Bose. Although they'ren't noise cancelling, I can hardly hear my surroundings with these on. One thing that I don't like is how bulky the headphones are, though. Nonetheless, the wire between the earbuds is lightweight and not very long to be bothersome and you don't have to adjust it like you would on PowerBeats. I've yet to try the pulse monitoring on these as I didn't download the app, but once I do, I will update my review on how well it is. Otherwise, amazing headphones. I highly recommend them.

These are really great headphones. They are very well packaged, easy to get in to and initial set up was very easy. Inside the box are the headphones, different size ear wings (a smaller and a larger pair, in case the medium doesn't work for you), a short USB charging cable (no AC adapter), instructions, and a carrying case with a convenient carabiner to attach the case to your bag, or whatever. Downloaded the pulse app to my Galaxy phone and it guided me through the pairing process. Paired with multiple devices, (my phone, an Android tablet, my PC) all using the app via my phone. Was a very simple process. The fit of these in my ears is really comfortable and I could see wearing them essentially all day. The sound quality is outstanding even at low listening volumes. Really deep basses and clear highs. They aren't noise cancelling but I suppose that also depends on your listening volume as it was easy to drown out any external noise. I haven't had the opportunity to use the built in microphone to make a phone call. I would expect to be able hear callers normally because of the great sound quality, but I'm not sure about the built in microphone as it's on the cord that is behind your head. I'm not a runner, but the ear wings seem to hold the headphones in your ear very snugly and comfortably. The pulse feature seems to work well in detecting my heart rate and is accurate when compared to other methods of measuring my heart rate. Went for a walk and tracked my walk using the Runkeeper app. With no additional setup whatsoever, the app automatically displayed my heart rate while I was walking and displayed an average after I was done. This makes it easy to know the intensity of your workout, etc. The controls on the wire control volume, can pause the music, and answer phone calls. The headphones will announce who is calling (based on what's in your contact information) Stated battery life is 5 hours. That seems like the only limiting factor to wearing these all day long.

First, I want to clarify that I have never owned a Bose device that I was totally dissatisfied with quality and sound. That is not to say that all are perfect. Second, I never liked ANY in-ear headphone that I tried before, including all the ones from Bose, not because of sound quality but because my ears are way too sensitive and they hurt, itch and feel too much pressure being exerted on them every single time I use this type of headphones. Also, they always fall off too easily. Thus, my expectation about sound quality was high and about comfort in my ears was very low. As to sound quality the Soundsport Pulse is not bad at all. Base is above average and I haven't noticed any static or other issues common with other Bluetooth headphones that I have owned and tested with iPhones and iPads. Range is very good too. However, it is difficult to be totally immersed when listening to music since you hear most sounds around you unless you set the volume very high. That is not necessarily a bad thing since they were designed for outdoors use but it is disappointing when you're home or working out on a treadmill for example. Still, you feel much safer working out everyplace else since you can hear cars and bikes coming towards you. If you're a parent with young kids, being able to hear them while you're enjoying your songs can be extremely useful too. I wish though there was an option to turn off external noise as needed/wanted. Of course, there is no noise canceling as this is supposed to ensure you hear the outside world while you work out. But if you set the volume too high, there is no warranty you will hear anything else around you. Therefore, you can force an immersion but not the one I would recommend despite the fact that you would be defeating the purpose of this headphone. A great feature is the builtin heart monitor which detects your pulse fast and is fairly accurate although I would not trust my life on it but it is useful and always on while the headphones are in your ears. Even my wife who is a healthcare provider loves that feature. Fortunately, it works with other apps since the one that Bose provides for IOS is very very basic not to say disappointing. Battery is supposed to last 5 hours with continuous use but I believe it depends on how high the volume is as I once reached 5 hours and 12 minutes and it still had 17% of power. If you listen an hour or two a day it can last 3 or more days without needing to be charged again. You will hear updated information about power which is good despite the rude disruption. It would be great if instead of using a USB cable, you could charge it wireless but that would probably add weight to this incredibly light device. Most control buttons are on the light weight cord that connects both sides of the headphone. My only complaint about it is that there is enough space to add buttons to go forward or back but while there are dedicated + and - buttons for volume, there is only one for pause, back and forward. One push to pause/play, 2 to go forward and 3 to go back. Once you get used to it, you can live with it though. Now to what really impressed and surprised me. The reason why I would recommend this product over any other sports headphones out there. I can use this one for hours without any discomfort in my ears, neither around them since nothing goes over them nor inside as the pressure is almost non-existent. I could hardly believe that it fits my ears so perfectly and does not fall off while I'm running or eating. No itching either. As I mentioned before, it is very light. Also, sweat seems to be no problem for it. I would have rated it 4.5 stars, taking half a point due to the lack of option to mute outside noise but since it is not an option, I'm giving it a full 5. Summary: if you need a sports headphone that is light, comfortable, above average sound quality and with a good heart monitor, while still being able to hear outside noise for your or other's safety, this is the one for you. You won't regret it and may rather use it for long hours than noise canceling ones just because of the comfort. But if all you want is to listen to music and forget about the world around you and you're not concerned about being run over by a vehicle in the process, this is not your headphone. Otherwise, I highly recommend it.

I have been experimenting with the new Bose SoundSport Pulse earbud-style headphones for a couple of weeks. I have compared them to another quality set of in-ear headphones I use as well as some high-end on-ear headphones. The end result - The Bose SoundSport Pulse is an excellent headphone. The sound reproduction is very clear. It doesn't get bogged down with too heavy a bass, nor does suffer from distortion at the higher ranges. The aural template is very pleasing. I used the Pulse headphones in conjunction with the Bose Connect app on my Android phone. The app is also available on iOS. While the app is somewhat stark, it functions well. When you use the app, you also get heart rate monitoring (relayed to the app on your phone), which seemed pretty accurate based on comparisons to self tests and my Fitbit Surge. I had hoped the Pulse would include active noise cancelling technology, but it doesn't appear to, unless I have missed it. I have not found any reference to noise cancelling, and it clearly doesn't block out most noises around you. I understand the intent is that these will largely be worn during exercise or running, so you need to hear what's going on around you for safety reasons. Still, there are active noise cancelling technologies that will block loud sounds while allowing normal sounds to permeate the device; this is what I had hoped for with the Pulse. The Pulse uses an interesting (and comfortable) wing fit to nestle in the ear. Bose calls these StayHear+ Sport Tips. They seem to keep it secure and comfy. It comes with three sets of interchangeable tips to get the right fit for your ear. The cable connecting the two earbuds has a multi-function volume rocker that works well. I had no complaints about using the Pulse for voice as well as music. The cable also has a clip you can use to secure it to your shirt or neckband. The Pulse also comes with a nice little carry case that has a plastic carbiner clip. I presume it is plastic to save weight, but I thought the carbiner felt cheap. The Pulse charges fairly quickly and holds a charge well. I had read battery life is rated for 5 hours, and I consistently got a little better than that. In terms of design, the Pulse looks bigger and more bulky that I expected, but they were not at all heavy or uncomfortable. I have a bad knee and a bad ankle, so I don't jog and cannot comment on whether the bulk would be an impediment for wearing them while jogging. Pros: - Quality sound reproduction - Comfortable fit - Workout friendly pulse monitoring Negatives: - Bulky design - No noise cancelling Essentially, this is almost identical to the non-Pulse version except this one adds a heart rate monitor, loses about an hour of battery life, and costs $50 more. It's a nice headphone. If you find the heart rater monitoring beneficial (and the heart rate monitoring from the ear is supposed to be more reliable than what you might get from a wrist wearable), then go for it. If you don't need the heart rate monitoring, I might stick with the non-Pulse model by Bose. Regardless, you get great sound with either model.

I've used these for over a month and this is one of the best headsets I've used. First, the setup is very straightforward; pairing only takes a few seconds. There is an app you need to download to take advantage of some features ( more on that later. @@@@@@@ One note, the app makes it appear at first you need to go through the app to pair but you do not. Almost immediately after pairing , running the app and putting the headset on , you will hear that the SoundSport Pulse is detecting your heart rate rate The heart rate sensor is compatible with several fitness apps. Overall, beyond reading your heart rate, the app does not have many functions and I really do not see the point of the app from playing a music perspective. Music will not start through the app but can be controlled once it's started . Yes you can skip tracks, increase volume etc but the app is not much beyond that. The Bose app will tell interrupt between songs to tell you "heart rate detected." SoundSport Pulse seems to work fine when paired via Bluetooth for IOS and Android. I tried both with no issues whatsoever. So let's look at a point by point features, functions and design. Build quality, look and feel and fit. The SoundSport Pulse is relatively light for it's size The SoundSport Pulse stays put suprisingly well but you need to make sure you have to have the clip attached because it will everntually fall out of your ears if you are jogging. The ear pieces are not a complete seal, they just "float" in the ear. I know some people may not like this but I think this is intentional since the design the headset is geared to someone using the Soundsport Pulse when exercising. I am sure you would want to hear a car coming when jogging. In a closed enviroment, outside sound is really not an issue. The headset's overall size is big for an in ear design and it will feel enormous if you are used to the Apple traditional ear pods. You have to get used to the correct position of the ear pieces but once I found the right spot, they are most comfortable I ever felt. Since this is a "sport " design, the headset is water resistant. I did not put it in water but everything looks water resistant. The only thing to watch out for is to make sure you use the cover to seal the power connecter, I can tell that if this is forgotten that there will be water intrusion. Sound quality, control and power - The sound is simply fantastic. For music, it's clear , hits highs and most of the lows ( you cannot expect much of the low range for ear piece headsets. @@@@@@@ Voice clarity is spot on and very clear. Volume is tremendous - it can easily get too loud on the highest setting. There is no active noise cancellation so a loud background will intrude but not too much. There is an inline mic and control. You can adjust volume and skip songs. I find the control is too far up on the wire and close to ear to easily access. I do not think there is another great place for it due to the compact design so Bose had no choice. I find the buttons a bit hard to activate . I am going to put the battery life in it's own category. They are rated at 5 hours. I do not know if Bose is underestimating that or because I use d the headset at a relatively low volume, I easily got 6+ hours. I did not continuely use them 6 hours but used them periodically and tried to keep track. Suffice to say, you will get at least 5 hours if not more from one charge. Overall, I found the Bose to be the best I've tried. Bose has nearly succeeded in making a head set that does all things well, not an easy feat when dealing with the size constraints of wireless in ear headset. There are some improvements I would suggest. An Apple Watch and Android Wear app would be very useful, especially for controlling the volume, skipping tracks and answering the phone. Additionally, I would like to see some active noise cancellation. Since this feature is present in many phone bluetooth phone headsets, I do not see why it cannot be incorporated. I know Bose may say these are designed to allow sound ot intrude, there is no reason it could be turned on and off. At this price point, it should be here. This is the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. As indicated, this is a great headset. It is far better than the Apple EarPods and the most comfortable I've used. I recommend picking one up.

I love to listen to music while jogging and working out. I've always used wired earbuds where the wire would get in the way or the earpiece would not stay put from the sweat. Needless to say I was eager to ditch the wires, and I could not wait to see what the Bose Soundsport Pulse Wireless headphones had to offer. The headphones come packaged very nicely with an outer cover that slides off to reveal a hard black protective box with the headphones inside. In addition to the wireless headphones, the other contents include a usb charging cable, a zippered pouch to store the headphones, a total of three sizes of ear tips (the medium size tips are attached to the headphones, while the large and small tips come in its own plastic packaging), and supporting documents (warranty information, safety instructions, user manual). With three different sizes of ear tips you will hopefully find the one that fits. The headphones are secured to the ear with the combined action of the wing tip that attach to the ridge in the ear and the oval shaped part that is inserted into the outer ear canal. The material of the earpiece is silicone. I was surprised at how comfortable and light the headphones felt, almost forgetting that I was still wearing them after several hours of having them on. Bose is known for comfort and these definitely do not disappoint. Upon putting on the headphones you will notice how much of the environment you still hear through the earpiece. The earpiece fits snugly in your ear, but without forming a really tight seal. These headphones are not designed to isolate ambient/background noise, only slightly muffling your surroundings. However, this is an advantage not a disadvantage as someone who exercises outdoors will tell you. While exercising outdoors you will want to be able to hear your surroundings especially being able to hear vehicles when crossing streets or if someone engages you in conversation. If you are interested in active noise canceling wireless earbuds, Bose has the QuietControl 30 earbuds. The headphones have an inline remote with microphone and buttons for playing/pausing/skipping tracks and adjusting volume. The buttons are stiff, so you will have to press with a bit of force to get the button to respond. The mic works well. People on the other line heard my voice clearly. The audio quality of the Soundsport Pulse wireless headphone is impressive for a bluetooth headphone, given the inherent data compression and sound quality losses of bluetooth compared to a wired set of headphones. There is a good balance of high, mid, and low frequencies. Bass is powerful and tight without being overpowering. Overall sound quality is crisp. I'm sure there is some quality loss, but I was unable to discern any appreciable loss in sound quality compared to a wired set. The lithium ion battery lasted me a little over 5 hours of listening pleasure. This is right in line with the spec of 5 hours per charge. The remaining battery life is indicated by a computerized female voice upon powering up the headphones, or alternately by a battery meter in the Bose Connect app, which can be downloaded for free from the app store. Now to get to the 'Pulse' part of the headphone. These headphones are distinguished from the Bose Soundsport Wireless headphones by the 'Pulse' in their title. There is a heart rate sensor that is embedded in the left earpiece. It works with many fitness apps, but I tried it with the Bose Connect app. Your heart rate is conveniently displayed on your smartphone or tablet and you can monitor it during or after your workouts. It a nice feature to have for your workouts. With respect to wirelessly pairing the headphones via bluetooth or NFC, I found no issues when pairing to my android tablets and smartphones. The headphones paired seamlessly with no drops in connections. You will hear a computerized female voice when pairing and connecting the headphones with your host devices. With the Bose Connect app, the voice can also be programmed to one of several different languages. Okay, so how did these headphones actually do in practice during my jogging and workout routines? They work very well. Through sweaty jogging sessions and workout routines, they stayed securely on my ears. I was able to listen to my music, while being able to hear my surroundings. The headphones are comfortable; I did not have to make much adjustment when exercising. And best of all, the audio quality is superb and the fact that it is wireless, made the workouts that more enjoyable. In summary, the Bose Soundsport Pulse wireless headphones set a very high bar in terms of audio quality and comfort. They are priced at the higher end of the market, but for those willing to accept no compromises in audio quality and comfort, and desire a set of wireless headphones that can deliver through demanding workouts, these headphones should be at the top of your list or already in your shopping cart!
