The sound quality was great but the ear buds were too bulky. They would not stay in my ear once I started sweating. Really sweaty workout caused the left earpiece to stop working.

This was a mother's day gift. I run a lot and sweat heavily and needed earphones that wouldn't short out from the sweat. I owned Beats sport before and they shorted out rather quickly.

Over the last 8 years I have tried almost every headset. All of them have failed and died mainly because of "sweat resistance ". I sweat very very heavily . So my wireless headset needs to be nearly waterproof. Bose soundsport pulse have lived up to challenge. I even get in the steam room with them. The sound quality is great crisp highs and deep rich bass. If I have a complaint,I would want a level or 2 higher in volume.

So far, so Nice. The only time they come out of my ears is when I visit the sauna for too long and they slip out due to the sweat, otherwise, I'm really liking them. Be aware however, I believe due to the heat, they automatically shut off as a safety precaution.

I am a true Bose believer now. After having these headphones for about 6 months now, they still look brand new. I jog and work out with them every day and the 100+ degree heat in Texas doesn't affect them at all as far as comfort or slipping out when I sweat. I will buy more if I ever wear these out.

These headphones have amazing sound quality and are extremely easy to use. I run with them frequently and they stay in place and they are never affected by sweat. I love Bose and these headphones keep me coming back for more. If you are looking for a wireless headset, I highly recommend these.

Two major issues and 2.5 stars

I will say overall I like the concept and when these are working right they are wonderful. However, there are two major issues caused by heavy sweat. I will say I tend to sweat heavily. I have had to return two pair and will return a third today because the earphones gave out. The first issue is that they tend to fall out after a lot of sweat has built up. They will not stay in place. Second, sweat tends to affect these in a major way. I'm training for a half marathon and like clockwork around mile 4 the left ear piece starts popping and crackling and eventually they shut off. Eventually they come back on with more crackling. I usually can get 5 or 6 more workouts in after the problem first appears, but they get progressively worse. Thankfully I bought the best buy warranty and will be going on my fourth pair. When they do work the sound quality is very good and heart rate sensor pretty accurate. It did sync up to a couple of running apps as well. I wish I could give it a higher rating, but for me personally I have had a lot of the same issues over and over again. If you are not a heavy sweater I would recommend them. I obviously like them since I'm going on #4.

The sound quality is excellent. There is also no issue with sweat or anything else causing them to fall out of my ears. I actually have one pair I take to work (to use for music/phone calls) and the other that I take to the gym. I would highly recommend these.

Bought these as I went through 2 pairs of the new wireless beats (do not buy them, they're horrible). It's been 2 months and they're still working. Bluetooth is way better and connects to the phone a lot faster. Also they're 100% waterproof. I do a lot of running and sweat profusely and have not had any issues yet.

    Great Headphones!

These headphones really are awesome. I'm a runner and finding headphones that stay in my ears and that don't get yanked out when they get caught on the treadmill or on my clothing is a challenge. These headphones stayed in place through an entire workout! I was very pleased with the sound quality as well. The only downsides are that the heart rate it monitors doesn't sync with any fitness apps, and that the wire when worn behind your neck is irritating when you start to work up a sweat. But other than those two things, they were amazing!

    Can't go wrong with BOSE

So far I have never been disappointed with any BOSE product I have owned. I have the wireless Beats but the BOSE sound much better. The packaging was very solid and very BOSE. Although I enjoy quality packaging I am beginning to think it's such a waste and would be okay with my product in a ziploc baggy. I don't think I have read any directions or manuals in eons and I almost hardly ever register anything. Plus with my phone near I can always Google if I have a question or concern. Well onto the headphones. They come with a case, charging cable and two other sizes of sport tips. They are a tad offset with the weight coming off the ear quite a bit, not a major concern just odd at first. My Powerbeats have the nice hook around the ear to keep them in place during strenuous exercise whereas the BOSE just lock inside the ear lobe. This was a problem for me on day one but I beat em up and ran them through the ringer. I was helping my Dad cut down a 55' mesquite tree and wore these all day off and on so I could have some tunes to drown out the chainsaws. I did a lot of climbing around up in the tree with a chainsaw and rope work while sweating like a pig. I was constantly re-fitting the headphones into my ear. I believe it was a combination of the sweat and the strenuous work. But the sound and control functions were great. Day two was not as difficult labor and then I also used them during my 55 minute workout (high impact callisthenics). No issues on either occasion here. Calls are super crisp and gaming has no lag. I have a maybe one second delay on my Beats and don't get that with these BOSE headphones. I removed a star for mainly the style, just how far they stick out is odd. I know there is a lot jammed in there but maybe get some of it into the cable somehow? Also the sound is not your typical BOSE, don't get me wrong they are better than most wireless buds I have tried but I think making them tough for sports and waterproofing caused them to be a little more muffled. I still enjoy them and will be sure to use them anytime I need a tough set of wireless buds.

At first glance with the design of these headphones one might feel they will be too heavy or bulky for the ears. I am here to tell you that's not true. Setup is easy with the Bose Connect app, these are "open" headphones in that they don't have to be shoved inside your ears, the downside is they don't block out noise but you really don't necessarily want that in a headphone set that you may be running or biking with in order to be able to react to your surroundings if necessary. They are also sweat and water resistant which is needed in a workout headphone pair. Speaking of physical activities the Soundsport Pulse headphones also have a heart rate monitor which is a cool added feature, the sensor for this is located in the left side headphone and is able to read your heart rate very easily. As for fit, with the ear tips on these headphones they fit very comfortably in the ear and absolutely don't fall out which was a concern of mine when I first looked at these. And now to what you would buy these for in the first place. . music...Sound quality is really good with rich bass and nice highs. Overall a great set of headphones.

    Great Bluetooth Sport Headphones

I have owned several Bose products in the past so when I saw that the Bose Soundsport Pulse were being released I immediately wanted to try these out. I have grown to expect exceptional comfort and quality sound from Bose and these headphones do not disappoint. I use the headphones at the gym, and while playing basketball and tennis. In all conditions, I produced a large amount of sweat and I did not have any issues with the headphones afterwards. The heart rate monitor is a great feature on these headphones, as I was able to get a real time rating of my heart rate during these activities. The heart rate readings matched those produced on my Apple Watch Series 2. The headphones also remained secure during these activities and did not fall out, which is definitely a plus. The headphones and the Bose Connect App are very easy to use, which makes for a great experience. I also love being able to connect to two devices simultaneously as this allowed me to pair the headphones with my phone and my laptop. While working on my laptop and listening to music, I was able to answer a call when it came in. My only complaints about these headphones are that they are really bulky /protrude well beyond your ears, the price, and the 5-hour battery life. Nonetheless, they are still some of the best sports bluetooth headphones that I have tried out, and I would recommend them to anyone that needs great sounding/comfortable headphones that actually stay in your ear. I hope the next generation of these will have a more attractive design, longer battery life, and a cheaper price.

Great Quality From Easy to Use Wireless Earphone

My headphone/earbud collection consists of three generations of Apple earbuds, a Blue Ant Pump, AKG K240 MkII, Audio Technica ATH-ES7, Bowers & Wilkins P7, Audeze EL-8, Bose QuietComfort 25, and now the Bose SoundSport Pulse. Being hard of hearing has ended up sending me on the quest for a holy grail earphone that sounds good to me. These Bose SoundSports have a sound profile that suits my situation very well. I have seen earphones with this basic style of tip/wing over the years and have been skeptical as to their ability to stay in my ears and be comfortable. I was wrong. I am someone who has a hard time finding earbuds that fit my ears well and stay inserted, but these have an awesome fit for me. The in-line control works like all other three-button controls I have experienced, however the buttons do take a firm push to actuate them. I have not used these earphones during a workout, so I can't comment on their ability to withstand a sweaty environment. Based on how they fit, I would expect them to easily stay in place during a moderate workout. The heart rate monitor seems to work well and is a welcome feature. Sound quality is what I have come to expect from Bose.very, very good. I don't have a way to check the accuracy of their frequency response, but I do find them to be extremely pleasing while listening to rock/pop music. While listening to music I am very familiar with, I have heard small details that I hadn't heard before over the years. The female voice programmed into the earphones to give you audible status updates for battery strength and connectivity seems a little hard to understand for me, but that could be because of my personal hearing deficiencies. I wish it was possible to change it to other voice types/accents. All in all, I find the Bose SoundSport Pulse to be a welcome addition to my collection of earphones and I especially enjoy its sound quality and the wireless convenience.

On the Jenny Craig plan exercise is key along with diet. The key to exercise is repetition and habit. Weight loss has to be sustainable and the feeling has to always be there. Bose can play a great part in this process and they did with my exercise routine. I searched for the ultimate exercise companion and the Bose Soundsport Wireless Pulse is it. One thing that activates my workout is good sound. Often sound is compromised because the product has to be sweat resistant and water resistant. Bose designed the Pulse to be this product and have great sound for the gym. This product is purely dedicated to the gym experience. When working out in the gym, I need to be able to hear around me as well as enjoy my music. The gym is a busy place. Its also a great place to get motivated and feel great. Having the right music and the right headphones make it more enjoyable. The Stayhear tips offered with this unit are easy to install and use. They don't fall out of the ear during workouts. This is a huge advantage with this unit. Soundsport Pulse's best partner is it's separately sold $49 charging case. This case makes the Pulse the ultimate accessory because it's easy to get a quick charge. I strongly recommend purchasing the Pulse with the case because it will elevate the convenience and experience. Let's talk about the sound of the Soundsport Pulse. The active eq system offers great sound at all volumes and good sound inspires a good workout. I get a great balanced sound Bose is known for. The heart rate feature is great and I have used it in the third party applications. Although the Bose application is real time, the other apps can make great use of the heart rate readings which makes this unit a great upgrade over soundsport wireless. This is one of the most important devices I use daily. Without it, exercise isn't as fun. With the iPhone experience this is essential.

First things first, the sound quality of these earbuds are great. I don't care what people say, Bose continues to deliver topnotch sound quality. My big complaint has to do with the fit of the ear buds while working out. I've tried every tip that comes in the box with little success. I've used Bose wired headphones earbuds before (for casual use and working out) and really liked the fit of their ear tips, but for whatever reason I couldn't get the SoundSports to stay in while running. I generally sweat a lot (yes, including my ears) and I've to try to jam these ear buds into my ear and wipe the sweat out while I run; which is far from ideal. When I wear these around the house in less strenuous circumstances I've zero difficulties keeping these ear buds in place. But I got them to wear when working out. This could be a "me" problem, but I just want to forewarn potential buyers that, in my personal opinion, sport or sweat resistant ear buds really vary in their ability to stay in one's ear from person to person. If you're like me and sweat a lot or haven't had great success using ear buds while working out, I'd consider something similar to the PowerBeats wireless that have "hooks" over your ear to prevent them from falling out. I've had better success keeping those in my ears. Even if you're willing to give ear buds a try or haven't had difficulties with Bose ear tips in the past, I'd save your money and get the non-heart rate model. It's nice to see your heart rate and when compared with my FitBit Charge HR they have similar readings (I've concerns with its accuracy as well) which gives me no reason to doubt its accuracy, but I don't know what to do with the HR data. You can only see it in the Bose Connect app, and I really don't care what my HR is in real time, for me, I'm more concerned with my workout and would rather see my HR post-workout. This leads me to my next pseudo-complaint, the Bose Connect app. The app is nice, very pleasant look, and easy to use. But for me, it's just another app to have. It does control your music, which is nice, and it connects your Bose devices, but I'd rather have one less app to deal with. Again, my opinion. And it's because you can only get your HR reading in the Bose Connect app that makes it so useless to me (NOTE: I did not check to see if other fitness apps can gather heart rate data from these headphones). I will say the battery life is normal, not great, but not bad. And I do like the verbal instructions/guides that tells you when your headphones are connected, the battery life and heart rate. All in all, it's all a matter of personal preference and if ear buds work for you. A big issue is not being able to take these for a test drive without committing to purchase. Kudos to any manufacturer/retailer that can figure that out. Again, like virtually every Bose product I found the sound quality great, but I'd stick with the SoundSport "normal;" sans heart rate. One last thing, the inclusion of a carry case is awesome, other companies provide one (Beats comes to mind) but not all and that is a huge plus in my opinion.
