In my experience, there are two types of people in the world: people who care a great deal about the sound quality of the things to which they listen, and then everyone else. The first group of people know the difference between a good and bad set of earbuds, and they know the importance of testing audio equipment that they are going to spend some money on. And they spend money on their headphones…they won’t hesitate to drop $100 on some ear buds, $200 on some decent on-ear or over-ear headphones, and if money were no option would be first in line to spend $500 or more on professional quality studio headphones. And for those who think that spending $500 on a nice pair of headphones is craziness, stop reading this RIGHT NOW and Google how much studio headphones will run a professional DJ or sound technician. Then come back and realize that $500 is not that much money. OK, now that we’ve aligned our expectations, let’s talk about what everyone needs. Yes, I used that word. First, you need a good all-purpose basic ear bud with a decent inline mic. These are your every day buds, what you carry with you from place to place just in case you want to jam out to some Bushwalla while you ride the bus downtown, or when you go out for an impromptu walk during your lunch break at work. The occasional conference call on your way home (if you don’t have a solid in-car bluetooth setup) is easily managed by your go-to-bud. Next, you need a pair of decent studio headphones. These are typically over-the-ear or on-ear; they have a great feel to them and put out some serious sound. These are the headphones you’ll use when binge-watching Dexter on your laptop or tablet, and while they might have a cord, they’re not an inconvenience. And, there are a LOT of these out there—many name brands and other not-so-well-known brands that get you similar or better performance for less coin. Most people can survive on those two…but in 2016, we need a good wireless option: mowing the lawn, going for a jog, or even for one of the above occasions where I just don’t want to use studio phones or my go-to-buds. What then? The product is the Bose Soundsport Wireless Headphones, one of Bose’s entries into active wireless audio tech. The unboxing was an absolute joy…I think good money spent on good technology should also allow the buyer a good “unpacking” experience. The design of the packaging is simple yet satisfying, as if Bose really focused on this aspect of the product. I had to cut two small pieces of tape, and the rest of the package could be pulled open within a minute of that, and in that minute no additional ripping/tearing/cutting was required. It is sensible packaging with good heft. A handful of years ago I received as a Christmas present Bose’s basic earbud offering (before in-line microphones were important) and they served me well until one day the cable finally separated from one of the buds. It was heart-breaking. In any case, back then I immediately fell in love with the bud design, which I am pleased to say has been maintained years later. I have tried MANY ear buds, wireless or not, and none have come close to the comfort or ease of use as Bose’s buds. It’s also worth noting that these things do not flop out of your ears…ever. Initially, I was concerned at the size of the back side of the buds….presumably where the battery and much of the speaker technology is supported…they seemed a bit on the large side and I was concerned about their weight…but once you get them in your ears, you can wear these things for hours on end without ear fatigue or discomfort. And, once you get used to using this type of bud with the grips that Bose provides, you will find it very easy to put them in your ears. Now let’s get to the good stuff: how do they sound?? They’re good…and for their size and the fact that they’re wireless, they’re borderline great. Forget about their competitors…I’m more interested in describing how they compete with what I feel are the other headphones you might be looking to replace with these: The “average” user, the one who sports Apple’s EarPods because they came with the latest iPhone, will love these…in terms of sound, they far surpass anything the less-expensive wired buds can achieve. The “studio” user, who looks to spend several hundred or even thousands of dollars on a good pair of headphones shouldn’t expect these to replace studio gear. Bose, on most of their offerings, does a great job at under-playing their lows, so any hip hop or bass-intense pop tracks leave something to be desired. They do an adequate job…but these aren’t going to replace your studio headphones for binge-watching Netflix or jamming out to anything bass-heavy. If you don’t have really particular tastes, or you like to listen to treble-heavy music, these will be perfect for you. Bose does well presenting very genuine-sounding audio from their headphones, and this product is no exception to that. Acoustics and vocals are excellent. But beyond their sound output, these buds have some additional things to offer that are a bit out of the norm for what I’ll over-simplify and label as “exercise” earbuds: These particular headphones can pair with multiple bluetooth devices, and swapping back and forth from one to the other is pretty quick. I can pause a song on my iPhone and press play on my Macbook, and the music picks up within a second or two…there is virtually no lag. This isn’t a tremendously important feature, but I could see someone transitioning quickly from one to the other and getting frustrated with lengthy pairing processes. With these, there’s not much to worry about there. Also, for buds designed to be worn during exercise, these are amazingly easy to use and hassle free. They have decent battery life, maybe 6 hours or so, long enough to get through the trip to and from the gym, along with a decent workout between. And they stay in place. The first 5 miles I ran with them, they didn’t fall out once. They get adequately loud to cover a running lawnmower, but quiet enough if you’re running outdoors that you would still be able to hear traffic around you, or other fit-minded individuals on the same trail as you. The in-line controls are big and clunky and easy to grip and manipulate while running…and as I said before, once you get used to putting them in, you can do it with ease while in motion, as the previously-mentioned larger back section of the buds are ideally sized for fingers and hands of all sizes. Probably the biggest surprise in these, for me, was the in-line microphone. I don’t have particularly high expectations when it comes to in-line microphones, and I’ll admit that Apple’s EarPods have spoiled me in that department: they are surprisingly great for the occasional phone call while on the move. I “accidentally” joined a conference call while using these, and sought out feedback from the people on the call at the time—no one had any complaints about poor audio quality; no one complained that I sounded like I was under water, or that there was excessive road noise while I was driving home. I have since tested with others, who all complimented the quality of the sound on their end. So, I’ve covered the “what,” but let’s talk about “who.” I think these are a must-buy for those who like to listen to music while they work out—whether that be running, walking, weight lifting…they are low-maintenance, easy to operate while in motion, have decent battery life, and have good volume range depending on your taste. If you actively use your Apple EarPods, you should seriously consider getting a pair of these…they can do everything Apple’s wired buds can, but they’re wireless. What’s not to like? If you don’t work out, don’t mow your lawn, and really only listen to music or watch movies with a pair of studio over-the-ear headphones, these won’t change your life…that is, unless you use their cost as motivation to get yourself to work out more. And, for the business-savvy folks out there: If your office phone supports bluetooth headsets, this is a great multi-purpose option for work use that you will also be able to use outside of the office. I have been waiting for some time for Bose to release a good pair of in-ear wireless headphones, and these fit the bill perfectly. The battery life is fine, they charge in 60-90 minutes, and it will take some time for Bose to release the next generation. And, these are not my first Bose product: they should serve you well for at least a couple of years if not longer. The only thing I can’t really figure out is why you haven’t already bought them. These are a no-brainer for at least half of the headphone-using market out there, and half of the remaining population could justify it easily because they do such a great job multi-tasking as a great all around headphone. For comfort, audio quality and versatility, these easily earn 4 out of 5 stars. Improved battery life and slightly better bass performance would get them a fifth star. This is another solid release by the team at Bose.

    Good but not great...

I rarely, ever write reviews but this item I find myself using a lot more than I imagined so I decided to chime in with my opinion. The reviews were helpful for me when decided what to try. First and foremost, these ARE NOT noise cancellation headphones which is the reason why I purchased them. I'm a Chicago commuter and I prefer to be well aware of my surroundings at all times while on the train and walking. I've read a lot of people complain about still being able to hear things, but these were designed for you to hear. The volume is adequate, but not blaring. At first I felt that the volume was too low, but realized if they were any louder I wouldn't be able to hear anything around me which is most important to me. I can turn them up to the point of not being able to hear well, and still have a couple of more levels to go from that point. However, I can't turn these up to the point where it's just too loud for me. I'm satisfied with the bass levels and quality of sound. I've never been a fan of Beats overcompensating bass and always preferred Bowers and Wilkins and Bose products because of that. The headphones are bulkier than I prefer and the volume/phone control seems very stiff which leads to the actions being unresponsive at times. After using Apple's standard earbud controls and Bowers and Wilkins headphone controls, these are a considerable downgrade. I feel myself pressing somewhat hard on the buttons for them to work. The earbuds are comfortable (very minor irritation after listening for over three hours) and I haven't had any issues with the headphones falling out. I use the mid-size earbuds. They are slightly larger than I want, but the real small ones are too small for me. That's a problem you'll have with all earbuds though. Either they fit you perfect or you have to adjust to the fit. I use extremely cheap headsets to workout and due yard work with so sweat exposure has been somewhat minimal. Nevertheless, I haven't had any moisture issues. I walk two or three miles a day with them depending on the weather, but I'm not sweating anywhere near as much as I do when I workout or doing yard work. Overall, not a bad model but there is room for improvement. I'm happy with this purchase and I hope this helps someone on the fence with regards to purchasing this product.

I am rating this Bose product at 3.5 out of 5 stars. These Bose SoundSport wireless earphones are comfortable in the ears and can be worn for many hours in a row with little to no ear discomfort. The battery only lasts for around 5 hours, depending on overall listening volume, but the charging time is fairly quick, and these headphones have good quality sound that you would expect from a Bose product. Both the left and right headphone are easy to hold and almost seem like they were designed to have small handles on each headphone, making each headphone easy to grab and place into the ear. The Bluetooth pairing process is quite quick with these Bose SoundSport headphones, once the headphones have been paired with a device, they connect quickly after being turned on. There is a micro USB cable provided, but no USB charging adapter, that was kind of unexpected, a USB charging adapter would have been a really nice addition. These headphones were designed to wrap around the back of the neck area, but I found that allowing the cord to dangle down in front of the shirt area, is another way to wear the headphones, which allows the microphone to points closer to the mouth and picks up sound better. There is a silicone flap that is covering the micro USB port on the right under side of the Bose SoundSport headphone, once the silicone flap is pulled out, it cannot be turned to the side very far, which makes plugging in the micro USB cable slightly challenging. The silicone cover should have been designed to swivel 180 degrees once it is pulled out, so that it is completely out of the way of the charging port. (I am deducting 1/2 star for this charging port cover issue.) When reviewing a product, and deciding upon an overall rating score, I figure in the selling price of a product, this is the value factor, having said that, there is not much to these Bluetooth headphones, and so I feel as if the selling price should reflect that. Having a beginning selling price of $149.95, I feel as if this is too much for a product that is so tiny, and I am removing 1 star for this reason, if the beginning selling price was $99, then I would have given this Bose product a 4.5 star rating. Considering that the build quality and design of these Bose SoundSport headphones is almost certainly better than the current market competition, I guess that makes up a bit for the slightly high selling price. If you are looking for a comfortable and good sounding pair of Bluetooth headphones made by Bose, then the SoundSport wireless headphones might be a good choice for you.

The next evolution of in-ear sports sound

These awesome sweat and water resistant headphones exceeded my expectations! Sound: They're BOSE... what did you expect? Bass resonates ridiculously deep from seemingly nowhere, as these things are tiny. Range is good and sound is wonderfully clear. Size/Feel: In the past I have taken issue with the combination of in ear + ear hook/loop for keeping something like this in place. Admittedly the modules that protrude beyond your ears ARE a little on the large side, and I did bump them on a few things. You definitely won't be lying down on a pillow with these headphones on. The battery and bluetooth radio had to go somewhere however. They didn't sit so far outside my ear as to have a lever effect with the little bit of weight that does exist. All materials feel well made and the hydrophobic skin has a slick grippy feel to it. Fit: The in ear portion fit extremely well, and makes a relatively solid seal. I was surprised at how little I could hear of the ambient noise. Thankfully BOSE has also provided three different sizes of the hooks that help hold the earphones in place, to make sure you get an optimal fit. I had to tug on my earlobes to put these in just in a pair of construction ear plugs. Bluetooth/Connectivity: I was mildly annoyed at having the download ANOTHER app to control these, but it DOES add value to the headphones. They came charged 75% out of the box, and I was really into the voice feedback telling me how much was available. After having charged them a few times now I still can't tell how long they take to get to 100%, but I've gotten very close to the reported 6 hour battery life many times. I have not attempted to pair via NFC yet. Headset/Mic/Controls: In spite of being wireless, these headphones do still have the volume controls and microphone in line with the short cable that goes between the two left/right buds. The microphone was clear and succinct during calls, and I had no complaints from other parties. I wish that I could use the microphone in headset mode for other activities/Siri dictation, and that keeps them from being 5 stars in my mind. The controls are solid and easy to navigate without looking, as well as unobtrusive. Overall /Value: These have become my go to headphones. I would recommend them to anyone looking for sweat/water resistant headphones or just bluetooth wireless headphones in general.

    Unbeatable sound quality

I wanted to experience this product for several reasons, those reasons are as follows: When someone hears about Bose, they instantly think about high quality sound, great home theater surround sounds, Bose is a prestigious company that is very well known. I wanted to see if Bose could bring their pristine sound to a device so small like this one. I wanted to see if their amazing engineering could succeed in compacting it in something that is convenient for people to take anywhere they go. My expectations in this product were to hear the satisfaction of good base along with good treble. I feel like many companies have a forte in either one or the other; for example, Anker sound buds sport does a very good job with their treble, but lacks a good base release. Bose does a great job in producing this with their big speakers, but I wasn’t expecting them to actually succeed with having the perfect combination of both of them. I will give then a 100 on getting the amazing balance with both. The treble can go very high and the base goes very low and deep. It feels like I’m listening to a subwoofer with an amplifier that is perfectly equalized. Were my expectations met? ABSOLUTLY! There are many genres of music and it does very well with making those songs sound live. I’ve used them a lot around the house while cleaning and doing errands, I have also used them when I have gone out for a walk or run. Some headphones get a little distorted with their sound when there is harsh movement, but the Bose headphones did an excellent job with keeping the same sounds throughout without interruptions. I think the design could use a little more improvement. I have small inner ears so even while using the smallest ear bud I still had trouble adjusting it and getting it in a comfortable position. Although while running the sound was great sometimes I would have one ear bud fall off which wasn’t so great since these are supposed to be sport headphones. But, like I said before the sound quality was perfect while being outside. Another thing is, yes the sound quality is unbeatable, but maybe engineers can try to see if they can make the speakers a little bit smaller while feeding our ears with the same sound quality. I also think that the hook piece on the earbud could be a little bit longer for more grip, maybe if that were a little longer it wouldn’t fall out as often. The headphones are very easy to use and has some nice features to it. When the headphones connect to a device it instantly tells you what device you’re connected to, it tells you battery percentage, notifies you when a call ends or when it is answered. The headphones are not just regular headphones, but they are smart ones too. Overall I am satisfied with everything about the device except for the full outer design. Bose did great with the compact design, but maybe in the future they can have another success and go smaller. So would I recommend this product to other people? YES! When it comes to pristine sound I don’t think anyone can beat the king of speakers. If you purchase this product you will get used to another level of sound that many people unfortunately can’t experience. Bose makes you appreciate music on another level.

    Supernova

Ill call this supernova because these buds may just make you feel like youve drifted into a form of outterspace that gave music a semi-heavy loving definition of texture. I would say these buds to some degree take after not only the house of bose branded speakers but after others maybe even like marshall, or even sonos just down to a palm size unit. Or more reasonably speaking, these buds may just offer more or less the sound that you find in most over ear/on ear headphones do. (but realize it is bose and from how I see it boses line of product is there to enhance the music that you listen to reaurdles of how it is you or I like it in their own specialized way so no need to be disappointed if you don't find yourself liking them.) I would say these buds are very much on a warm tone of sound. Prior to bose's previous line of ear buds it's as if these ones swept up all of the its debris and basically the brand has learned from what it possibly has missed/or left behind before and now wants you to know and hear how far it has come and wants you to be impressed because so. I think these headphones could cater to virtually any kind of genre however being that I'm mostly a pop and r&b person mostly with the occasional differ of what's declared ratched music to music from Kenny g & Sergei rachmaninoff, I could definitely see these earning the hearts of people who like there music to have that "knock" to it. As the "midrange and highs are quite clean and bright sounding and didn't get muddied up at higher volumes"; although than can be pushed to. I would expect people who could live without all of the bass not to be interested in these headphones. These are a better version of the soundtrues and soundsports not the soundtrue ultras as the ultras are possibly better for those that may find these particular ear buds to be overwhelming or just ugly with power. Although I was not a fan of the stayhear+ cushion tips when they first debuted with the sound true ultras, these really didn't add problems for me here as the plunger effect as I call it most definitely allowed these buds to stay as secure as they can be without moving in the ear, even though there's a bit of outward protrusion. Not too heavy if you're concerned and if your concerned. And I've gotten 35-33 paces away from my device before these began to cut out a bit. Why 4 stars instead of 5? If there's a way to rate thses 4.5 stars I would the only thought I have about these that could be a con is that the bose "signature sound" makes me wonder if its just masking its short Comings in these units because as you or I did escalate the volume as I would use these it seemed a little obvious that it was missing just a little bit something more missing from its spectrum that could make these even more better than what they already are. Try a pair yourself :)

After owning the previous SoundSport model of headphones, I decided to get the wireless ones. First impressions were okay, had some major Bluetooth connectivity issues with initial usage...they often skipped depending on where my phone was as I watched a YouTube video. After that they seemed to work just fine, did not know why they did that when I initially started using them. Overall, the sound quality is great as well asthe comfort, despite the battery being in the earbud themselves, was actually quite impressive, very comfortable to wear and they stay in your ear! Sound is balanced and clear like most Bose products, and they do offer decent bass compared to other models which are not extremely bass heavy. Noise isolation is better than the previous model, due to the StayHear+ tips, although not great. That is intentional, as when you are working out or running, you can be more aware of your surroundings rather than blocking them out. Connectivity is acceptable, nothing too long range, minimal skipping.Although when I would get a FaceTime call, they did not connect to give me the sound, instead I had to re-connect them to get the sound from the phone to the headphones, a weird issue. Battery life is pretty good, you could likely get a week of workouts from these headphones. Also a clever feature to save battery is the subtle shut off of the sound and battery when you are not listening to anything for an amount of time. Charge time is average, the cover to the charging port is very flimsy, feels like it could snap off. In-line microphone works pretty good for phone calls and Siri, although the buttons are not as tactile and seem to wiggle a bit when you press them. The voice when you turn the headphones on gives you battery life as well as what devices (max is 2) the headphones are connected to, although the sound of this opening voice can not be adjusted oddly. The Bose Connect app gives you the same information and is useful. Lastly, these do not connect to a computer running Windows that great at all, regardless of the fact your computer lists them in the Bluetooth device list. Overall these are a great pair of headphones, but they have some small flaws which should be taken care of...these flaws do not pose that big of an issue through daily usage though! Bose products are reliable, always have had good luck with them, they will last you a long time if you take care of them!

In the box you’ll get the headphones, a small carrying case with a carabiner clip incorporated into the design, a micro USB charging cable, two different sized sets of StayHear+ tips, and the instruction booklet.Taking these out of the box I thought to myself, “There’s no way these are going to work.” Though the ear tips that go in your ear haven’t changed, the housing has. The wired SoundSports were nice and thin, but these are huge and bulky. It makes sense since all of the Bluetooth components had to go somewhere. Not to mention the new battery they stuffed inside that powers it all. When you put them on, they bulge out of your ears to the point where I was certain they were going to fall out. I even brought a backup pair of headphones for when they inevitably fell out, but they weren’t needed. Maybe these aren’t as bulky as they look or it could be because of the StayHear+ sports tips, but these didn’t fall out at all. In terms of design they’re definitely bulky and not too pretty, but they work and that’s all that matters. On top of the right earbud is a single button responsible for pairing and powering them on, but you’ll still have to use the in-line mic and remote for playback controls. The control module and the wire are also nicely constructed and don’t go flying around as I run, which was the main reason why the Jaybird Freedoms kept getting pulled out of my ear.The SoundSport Wireless connect via Bluetooth to your phone relatively painlessly and also have NFC if you have a compatible device. The range is pretty average at about 30 feet and works well enough. I did notice however that when running there was very minimal skipping when I had my phone strapped to my left arm (four times in a week) and no skipping whatsoever when it was strapped to my right. So if you hate jumpy music, make sure to keep your phone on your right side.Bose claims that the battery life will get you around 6 hours of constant playback, which isn’t anything special if we’re being honest about it. Luckily the SoundSport wireless did surprise me and we were able to max out playback time at 6 hours and 45 minutes. It’s not too great if you’re playing non-stop, but in real world usage this lasted me the entire work week. This should probably go without saying, but I did all of the testing while running with the headphones connected to my phone.

I have never been a really big fan of in the ear headphones, but these Wireless Bose SoundSports are some of the most comfortable in ear headphones I have ever owned. Sound quality is excellent, however I did dock it one star because the low end bass just seems to be lacking. You can hear it but it is lacking the depth that a really good set of headphones should deliver. That said the rest of the sound range is clean and clear and crisp which is impressive for a wireless in ear headphone. They do have a little bit of weight to them which is nice so they don't feel cheap. One other note is the buttons seem a little stiff but for overall life I would say that is not necessarily a bad thing. Overall though I would say this is a very good set of wireless headphones especially if your looking for something comfortable to wear for long periods of activity. Also with the ear pieces, they kind of lock into place in your ears so they do not constantly feel like they are going to fall out. A note on packaging. This is one of the best packaged pieces of electronics I have seen in a very long time. The box is sturdy the panels are well printed and easy to read and overall the aesthetic of the box and they way everything was packaged was really really good. I am impressed with the amount of effort and time that went into the packaging of these headphones. The look and feel rivals that of any other electronics product packaging I have ever un-boxed. Something about packaging adds to the overall feel of quality that this product brings and it's a nice touch.

These earbuds have a lot going for them positively. So I'll start with the bad first. The bad: This is more of a Bluetooth issue than anything. And maybe something that occurs due to my head. Occasionally when I turn my head to the right away from the device it's connected to, the audio skips. No matter my physical distance from the source. I rarely have connection troubles between theses and my MacBook Pro/Pixel. But when I try connecting it to my Surface Pro or while in my bootcamped windows install, it takes a lot of toggling to get it to connect. I suspect that this isn't Bose's fault and instead is an issue with Windows' Bluetooth drivers. I wish the battery life we're more than 4 hours but to be fair, that's a long time for wireless earbuds. I'll have to try again but I haven't been able to get them to charge and play audio at the same time. Would be really nice to have if you're actually sitting down and intending to use them for more than 4 hours. The good. Audio quality is phenomenal. When the bass gets heavy, you actually feel the drivers trembling a bit. Really adds to the experience. Spoken word is crisp and clear. And with the full frequency range, it's very natural sounding. It has controls built into the buds and the middle button can activate Google Assistant which is really useful. They aren't sold as noise cancelling and I personally am not a fan of full noise cancellation. But the sound insulation of these is still really, really good. In fact, it is pleasant to just wear them with no music playing. They stay in your ear really well. They're designed for athleticism in mind. Neither good nor bad: They jut out quite a bit from your ear and this might be a negative for some of you but I personally wouldn't trade the sound quality for a smaller, less obvious profile. Plus they're not heavy despite their size. Considering how we have fast charging everything these days, the charging time does not fit in that category. That said a full charge still isn't terribly long and hasn't frustrated me.

Great Active Use Multitasking Wireless Headphone

I needed a wireless set of earbuds for cord-free everyday multi-tasking use: dog walking, biking, phone calls, grocery shopping, etc. Frequently doing two of these at once. I wanted something that was durable, great sound, decent battery life and won’t fall out. I purchased a set of the B&O H5 since I already had the H7s and I love the fit, quality and sound of those for working and flying. To my dismay, the H5 fit is solely based on the earpiece fitting and maintaining grip in your ear canal. The problem with this was the weight of the buds would pull the buds out of my ear no matter which size ear-tips I tried. I also considered the Apple Air Pods since the size seemed right and I like the easy everyday fit of those. But, the availability issues, lack of connecting cord (instant loss) and strange looks deterred me from that option. I purchased the Soundsports last week and have been quite happy that it meets the criteria that the others failed on. Here are the pros and cons: Pros: - Fit is comfortable and the twist/lock into my ear is 100% secure - Neck cord isn’t too heavy or drag and tug on the earbuds - Sound is balanced and excellent for an active headphone - Open isolation so I can still hear what’s happening around me. Very critical. - Ear-tip fit/twist lock – The ear tip doesn’t go in the canal, more comfort over time - Durable so far - Even with the mass of headphone sticking out, it is light and unnoticeable - 6 hours battery for its size is not bad at all Cons: - Weight hanging around neck when not in use - Lack of magnets to connect headphones when hanging around neck - A bit bulky, but acceptable - Plug in charging not as convenient as magnetic charging - Not as convenient to put in or remove as Air Pods (nitpick) - Unlike the Air Pods, strangely enough, the charging case costs an additional $50 making the set $200 I’ll have to see how these hold up over time. I bought without coverage but may go back and get the 2 year replacement since there are things that could go wrong with these in 2 years’ time. Overall, not bad and serves my purpose. Recommended for active multitasking cord free use.

I bought these to use while exercising or doing general outdoor activities. I had a pair of the LG ones, but the large bar that runs across the neck is uncomfortable when sweating. The Bose brand does not have the bar at all, but instead has all the functionality built into the earbud itself. Much, much better. PROS: The earbuds fit very comfortably inside the ear. They have a design that lets you rotate them into position so they're pretty stable without the need to bury them. The sound quality is excellent. I've never had a pair of low profile, wireless earbuds get the range of sound that these things put out. The bass is solid, but doesn't overpower if you don't want it. The thin cable has a clip that you can attach to your shirt to keep everything from bouncing around. It's something I didn't think much about until I began using it. Nice little extra. It comes with a decent little carrying case that fits in a jacket pocket or has a belt clip if you need. I just like having a nice looking carrier instead of rolling it up and leaving it that way or trying to pack it back into a weak mfr casing. CONS: The battery life says 6 hours, but when I use it for an hour to an hour and a half a day it needs recharged after 3 days. When it says the battery is low you really are close to having it turn off. I've not explored the software enough to know if you can change when the low battery warning is activated, but I have had it die on me in the middle of working out. The buttons are a little close to the ear for me. I don't know if this is a common issue or if my head is bigger than normal (or both), but having the button dangling about jaw level is not convenient. I'd rather have the controls on the earbud itself or in the center of the cable so it's out of the way. I have paired it with an iPhone and everything went very smoothly. It doesn't drop like my LG pair did on occasion. Overall, I'm very happy with the purchase and hope they last a long time.

These headphones deliver crisp clear sounds along with beautiful tones and base all while holding a strong Bluetooth connection. I've used them with both my iPad and iPhone 6s Plus and with the use of the equalizer, was able to customize the sounds for different types of music. To test the Bluetooth connection, I left my phone on my bed and walked to the other side of the house with no issue what so ever. With the different sized earbud inserts it's pretty easy to get the perfect fit without having to worry that they would fall out during a work out. There is also an app that you can download that will keep your firmware up to date and I'm sure they will expand on features as times goes on. As you turn them on, you are greeted by a voice that tells you what battery percentage you have left, which is significantly helpful and I don't think I have used earbuds, wired or not that ever sounded this great. As much as I did love them, there were a couple issues holding me back from a five star rating. First off I love to listen to music as I'm laying down, I'm a side sleeper, but being that the electric Bluetooth features are installed in the actual ear pieces rather than around the neck, they protrude from the ears instead of being flush with them, it's just not a comfortable fit, but then again, they are marketed as a sports headset, with the intent of moving around. Another thing that could use improvement would be the volume. As nice as the earbuds sound, I had to have the volume set petty high while using them and I'm not one to blast my music either. I'm not sure if it's an issue with Bluetooth or it's something that can be improved with a firmware update somewhere down the road. All in all, they are a fantastic set of wireless earbuds. If you are in the market of a good set to wear while working out, these are perfect. In my case, I would need to have a second set to use for lounging around.

    Great wireless headphones

I bought these because I got tired of wires getting tangled or caught on things. I've used these about 4 times now for a couple hours straight while being out in the sun doing yard work. As someone who sweats easily, I can say these are truly sweat proof. I also use these when I'm mowing lawns and while they don't have noise cancellation, they do provide some noise isolation. It's nice to drown out at least some of the mower noise and be able to focus on my music more easily. Sound wise, these are pretty good especially considering they are wireless. You do have to turn the volume up a bit to really get into some songs but everything still sounds great and not like it's trying to destroy your eardrums. These are my first wireless headphones so I don't know how they compare to other brands. I have found that these give you a little bit of everything: music sounds clear, noise isolation, sweat/water resistant, good bass that isn't overwhelming, battery life is pretty good and they are very comfortable for long periods of time. My only complaints so far would be that they are a bit on the pricey side and I find that they do pause sometimes. I got them for $130 (currently on sale for $115 though). I had a gift card at the time and I have been pleased with most of Bose's products I previously purchased so I decided to give these a shot. As for pausing sometimes, I have found that while mowing lawns, they are paired to my iPod touch which stays in my pocket the whole time, there is occasionally a pause or freeze in a song while it's playing. I don't know if it's the fault of the headphones or the iPod, but I didn't notice that problem when using the in-ear wired ear pods apple provided with the iPod touch. My leg does make contact with the iPod while I'm walking behind my mower so I guess that could occasionally cause a song to freeze for a second. Anyway, it has only happened a few times and it lasts literally a second before going back to normal. If it happened much more often or froze for a much longer period of time, I would return them. Fortunately, this is not the case.

    Great everyday wireless headphones

I received these headphones free in exchange for my honest review. I am a real music person and love listening to music everyday! I am a wife and mother of 3 so having a good quality and noise cancelling headphones is important. When we travel the first thing I like to do when I get in the passenger seat and my husband starts driving is to plug a comfortable pair of headphones in my ear. I love the oackaging these came in and lies tones it for storage. They were easy to pop right out of the plastic and everything was nice and organized. I love bluetooth headphones and the fact that I don't have to have a wire running from my ear to my devices. The Bluetooth connects easily and the headphones clearly let you know when it's connected. The wire that runs the length of the headphones is thick and Bose quality. Underneath the right ear piece is the volume control. As long as you have a small neck when the ehadphones are on it falls easily by your neck and is easy to control. I am a little conflicted when it comes to the design of the headphones. They stick out very far and give you a very funny look that I don't like. The power button is easy to press on the right ear piece as well as the USB port for the charger cable. It charges fast and gives ample listening time. I love when I turn it on and it immediately tells me how much battery life I have left. As to comfortability, initially I thought they were very comfortable. They stay in your ear well but can become a little painful after awhile. Sound is good quality but I would like them to be louder or at least have the option of putting them louder. I'm somewhat disappointed but at the same time really do like them. I thought the noise cancellation could have been better too. It has a small clip that can clip to your shirt to keep it in place. I love using them excercising and even just walking around the house. They are great for when your in the car with your noisey kids and husband! Overall, I would recommend these and enjoy using them. It comes with a carrying case which I love keeping right inside my purse and t has extra ear pieces so you can adjust them to fit in your ear comfortably.

I was not AMAZED by the sound, which was expected for ear buds. But because they were Bose brand, I expected it to be a differentiator in terms of sound or features from other ear buds. I picked up Plantronics Backbeat Fit 305's which sounded exactly the same - and literally half the price. Though they were clear, good in all ranges, no distortion, and good call quality... I couldn't even convince myself that Bose was any different. The Plantronics had exactly the same features and quality, so I ended up keeping those instead of these. I liked a bit more of the look and feel of these Bose though. They were a tad more comfortable and secure but I didn't think that was worth 2x the price of the Plantronics. I was really indecisive between the 2, but what sealed it was that whenever I wanted to use the Bose app, it required that I turn on my location, no matter what. So if I want to check the battery of my Bose while I'm using them, I have to turn on my location first for its app to show me, and then wait for it to connect. - the Plantronics app not only allowed me to go through quickly without requiring my location, but even has as an active slide down notification to tell me where the battery is at and how much time is left on it. It's worth noting that if you feel bad about buying expensive ear buds because they might break, get the Best Buy protection - for any of them, and have that extra peace of mind. Another note is that I experienced sound hiccups or sound stutter randomly, but I also experienced this with the Plantronics one, so it's most likely my phone's Bluetooth connection or something - so I'm doubting its any of the faults of the product. I'd still recommend this, only if you care about the brand, look, or color than what is out there.

My review is from two points of view-mine and my wife’s. I thought it was important to include our body size for some added perspective. My wife is a petite 5’ tall and a daily runner. She loved the sound quality, the color and the easy integration with her iPhone and the SoundSport Wireless. She took a couple of phone calls with very little effort during her work out and said the mic quality was perfect. Her only issues were related to the size of the in-ear buds and the fact that they kept falling out during her run. While using the small gel ear-tips, the weight of the BT receiver/transmitter would slowly bounce then slightly dislodge with every step and would eventually fall out. She had to constantly push them back in her ear which she felt was extremely distracting. She’s going back to her Bose SoundSport Wired. Maybe it’s her tiny ears but perhaps Bose should consider a lighter BT receiver/transmitter for the next version. I’m 5’10-My activities include long distance cycling, gym/boxing workouts. I absolutely love the Bose BT SoundSport. While using the medium sized ear-tips, they never fell out of my ears and remained comfortable and secured during my workouts. The battery life was excellent during a 3 hour bike ride, and the sound quality was great. There have been a few complaints that the headphones do not block out back ground noise which I believe is by design for safety reasons. While cycling, I was able to hear good quality audio as well as the road traffic around me. I’ve been using the Bose Wired SoundSport version for several years during activities. I tried many brands of BT headphones including Beats, JayBirds and Bowers and Wilkins. My B&W P5 wireless head phone are my absolute favorite while lounging but I now have a new favorite with the Bose SoundSport BT for on the go activities. I'm deducting 1 star on my wife's behalf.

I bought this as a headset for music and phone calls for everyday. Mowing lawn and snowblowing are some of my uses for the music. It works for those things if it would stay connected. My primary issue involves connection. I will be listening to music on you tube while snowblowing and then I hear "Moto Z2 lost, Moto Z2 connected." This means when it disconnected, you tube shut off and it immediately reconnects but I would have to unbundle in frigid snowy weather to dig my phone out of my pocket and hit play again. So the result is no music while snowblowing. This happens often regardless of what my activity is. I could walk around my house and have it do the same thing. When I'm on the phone and a call comes in I hear "call from ###-###-####, person's name" the caller I am speaking to says, you cut out badly, I missed the conversation. Then I have to explain I had another call ring in and my ear piece was speaking to me. Good things and why I bought a Bose... Can connect from a farther distance. Sound quality is amazing. You can put on meditation music and get lost in it...until it randomly loses connection. Ear buds are comfortable and can be worn for hours. As I am sitting in one spot typing this review...music is crackling and acting like ear piece is going to cut out. Again, I am not sure I would buy again. I would recommend it to a friend, as long as they knew what to expect.

    Best ear buds ever!!

I've had numerous brands of ear buds. Usually I just buy cheap ear buds because I use them so much. I do a lot of outside work in my garden. Typically I would have to strap my iPod to my arm which would leave the wires hanging down. I tried stuffing the wire inside of my shirt but it would always fall out and be in the way. Eventually, the wire would get tangled in the handle of my rake which would end up pulling the buds out of my ear. Very irritating because then I have to take my gloves off to reinsert them. In comes the Bose SoundSport Ear Buds. Oh my gosh!!! What a wonderful surprise. Not only was the sound spectacular which I never had a doubt, you see, I already have a Bose sound system hooked up to my television which sounds like surround sound. And I also have Bose speakers in my car. So I am not a first time Bose customer. I'd never had wireless ear buds before and was I surprised. It amazes me what outstanding sound these earbuds have. Very clear sound and very little outside noise coming in. I like the convince of having them synced with my phone and not having to carry my iPod and my phone. I have the same music list in both and it's nice just to have my phone. They came in a very nice little round case which fits easily in my purse or pocket. I love that there are no wires hanging down getting in my way whether I'm gardening, cleaning house or walking my dog. I also like I can use them with my phone. Very convenient. The one thing that is important to me is they do not fall out of my ears when I bend over. That is such an irritant when working in the yard. Very compact, fast charging, easy to keep with me and fantastic sound. What more could you want for sounds??? Love love love them!!!! This product has been put at my disposal for no compensation in order to share my honest and unbiased opinion. Once I have completed my testing it will be returned to the manufacture.

this is my first set of wireless earbuds after years of using wired buds from Klipsch, Monster, B&W and Shure, and wired over-the-ear phones from Bose. first, the sound is very good. i'm not expecting super hi fidelity from a set of wireless headphones, they're mostly for the sake of convenience when I'm working out. Second, the wireless connection is solid - no drop-outs so far, and fairly easy to connect to the device. Third, these secure pretty well in your ears with the different-sized 'wings' that come with it. also quite comfortable. fourth, the charge time has been fine - they worked throughout a four hour hike I took. Charging takes a little while. Fifth, keep in mind that these aren't noise-eliminating buds. you'll hear outside noise. I can't comment in great detail about the controls - they do the basics for me, and that's all I need - or the long-term durability. But they appear built to withstand the elements, no obvious openings other than where the music comes out, the charging portal has a cover that doesn't open on its own, and the controls appear made to handle some moisture. I'm very pleased with these. Though I was intrigued by the bud-only soundsport free, i doubt they sound any different, and they cost almost double the sale price of these.
