I have been a Bose fan for the past 25 years. I initially fell in love with the clear, refined, and surround sound of their speakers. In later years I also marveled at the technology and quality of their products. After doing lots of comparisons, in 1990 I purchased the wonderful 10.2 series II which I had for 23 years. I added other Bosse components to complete a 5 speaker setup. In 2013 I bought a smaller house and reluctantly sold the Bose and opted for a compact surround system from another brand. Nice system and a tremendous value. The system was adequate to meet my needs. In December 2015 I moved again to a smaller home which required a soundbar system with the room layout. After doing considerable research, I opted to go with the Soundtouch 130 system. However, I was concerned if a soundbar system would be able to deliver the sonic performance I expect for watching movies and listening to my CD collection.
It was easy to set up, and I knew instantly as the system was configuring itself I made the right decision. Unbelievable power, volume, and room filling surround sound. It absolutely defies logic! And all from a soundbar and subwoofer. It clearly surpasses my former compact 5 speaker system...by a lot, and that system was no slouch.
I don't know how Bose does it, but this system must be heard to be believed. Yes, it's pricey, but worth every penny. This system will probably last many years. If I do have to replace it someday, it will be with another Bose system.
You simply cannot go wrong with this system! They really knocked it out of the park.

Mid and highs are very clear and natural, bottom is defined and clean. A bit to be desired in lower freqs of the sub. Dispersion of sound is very good as well but haven't experienced the full effect yet as far as the 360 surround. For the price expect better. All that being said, compared to Sonos, ect. Very nice soundbar.

I purchased Bose Soundtouch 130 after some deliberations between soundbar systems and 5 speaker systems. I decided to go for sound bar as it is less clutter and nearly same sound quality. I considered sonos system as you can add as many speakers wirelessly as u go, I decided to buy Bose because it is a receiver sound bar system. I do not not need to buy a separate receiver. Sound quality is great. Plus I wanted an HDMI connection since my tv is installed on the wall and the wires between the walls are all hdmi. Sonos uses optical cable I think. Easy set-up and if your tv has arc hdmi then it is seamless integration with your tv.
I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because of the following:
Cons: the wi-fi module should have been integrated with the receiver console and should have been one box really.
AirPlay support is not there. I have soundtouch 2 and that has it but apparently Bose removed it. I get around by using Apple TV with Bose.

My Samsung sound bar just didn't cut the mustard. It's a little better than the tv speakers, but it lacks bass and doesn't give you a great sound for the money you pay for it. After researching various sound bars, I decided to go with the Bose cinemat 130. It's a bit pricey, but it does sound 100% better than the Samsung. So far, I'm pleased with the performance of it.

Fantastic sound from the soundbar and subwoofer. Works excellently with movies, broadcast TV, and music.
Set up is relatively easy, however, it's not helped by the directions which are a little unclear. The quick start guide shows a few extra wire connections that aren't needed and the long manual isn't helpful. Once I decided to go back to common sense and throw out the directions, everything went smoothly.
The universal remote is good, although I wish it had an "all off" button. It's annoying to have to click each source. For the directions and the remote are why I dinged it for one star off. Everything else is great.

Clear Sound and Easy Set Up, but

The sound is crystal clear and undistorted throughout the space as to be expected with Bose. Set up was fairly easy if not a little time consuming due to the unique requirements. One thing I dislike is that it defaults to CLB SAT set-top box option when turned on and does not retain over night the last option I used which is typically GAME, which is it supposed to do according to the Bose website. That is, it remembers only for the short term, if turned off and back on in short order, but never over night. This default defeats the Xbox One verbal-on command since I then have to go to the remote to change Bose to GAME. I tried about every configuration offered. I can only surmise that the reason is that the Xfinity X1 is always on, and the Bose thinks it is the chosen option since it is already receiving input from it. Also, there is no Windows Phone app and no real guidance on what to do in the absence of an app for SoundTouch programming. Now, if Bose had only thought a few more things through, there'd be nothing to dislike.

The Bose Sound Bar is truly an amazing piece of hardware. It has transformed our family room into a mini-movie theater. I cannot get over the systems ability to create a surround environment with only one speaker and a subwoofer. I replaced an upper end Onkyo receiver, paired with KEF Reference Speakers (surround) and a high end subwoofer, with the Bose 130 system. My wife redesigned our family room and after 25 years she finally got her wish, the big KEF's were moved out. I have to say, the sound quality for movies is much better with the Bose and the audio quality is virtually the same. I cannot believe the robust bass and clarity of this system at higher volumes. Even though the Bose system is expensive, and I am a tightwad, the system is a real value considering its performance.

Great sound. Easy to set up. Clear crisp music. Very happy that we were able to get an effective surround sound system without drilling holes in the walls or hiring an electrician.

I have used Bose 901s with a subwoofer for my home theater for years and have been happy with it, but that setup requires a lot of complexity and few affordable home theater receivers have pre-amp inputs, so when my most recent receiver died, I decided to change to a simpler system.
I was initially skeptical that this system could compete with the sound of my previous setup. I was wrong. This system provides outstanding sound with depth and direction and the setup and operation are easy.
I am extremely happy with it and would buy it again in a second. I recommend it strongly.

I compared the 130 to all of the other wireless sound systems in the store and none of them had the full rich sound that Bose produces. Set up was a breeze and the calibration was fun! When in one of the set 5 positions, I am surrounded by perfect sound.

Bought a new TV and wanted to upgrade my Sound System with it. I have used several different types of Surround Systems, but where I had mounted my TV, I did not have the ability to really have a traditional 5 or 7 Speaker system. I have had Bose systems in the past, but nothing like this. The quality and sound is incredible. The Sound really does mimic a traditional Surround Sound System. The quality of Sound coming from the Bose System is well worth the price. Having looked at other systems, I do not regret my purchase. Very Pleased.

I had a 5.1 system in my house (including a Bose 201 L/R set and a Bose VSC-10 Center channel) that I was very happy with, but I wanted to clean up the clutter of all the speakers. Honestly, I bought this under the assumption that I would just return it if I didn't like it.... sorry, Best Buy. After the quick and mostly painless set up, I decided pretty instantly that I would keep it. The sound is incredible and room-filling. The only real loss I feel from a true 5.1 system is some of the crowd noise and SFX that you get in the back two speakers. It's slightly worse with just the sound bar, but I still feel a ton of sound all around me. The app for SoundTouch is pretty awesome, and I'm already planning on getting a couple of Bose SoundTouch standalone speakers for the kitchen, bedroom, and basement.

Best Buy purchase could not have been easier!
Setup was a not bad, took me about 2 hours. I had an issue with the HDMI video signal from my DirecTV box. The video signal was degraded when displayed on my 1080p, 240Hz Samsung TV. I have to do more research to find a solution. But until then, I bypassed the Bose receiver, sending DirecTV directly into the TV on a different HDMI input. I sent audio out of the Samsung into the Bose receiver via optical audio cable. The video signal is sharp and audio is amazing! I have a Samsung Blueray player also. My goal is to get everything running through the Bose with sharp video from my DirecTV, so as to have 1 remote control.
If Bose support can help me, I'll be adding the 5th star for this review.

I have never been a bose user and never thought I would get on the bandwagon. I needed speakers in my living room and cutting holes for in wall speakers was not an option with 12 foot coffered ceilings. This has really good sound that fills the room. Daily watching is great as well as the sound touch feature for listening to music. Sirius is now available which is also a reason I bought this. The app could use some work. It's easy just not as advanced as I was hoping for. The sub is good but if you want bass you have to manually turn it up for movies and then back down for tv. I like movies to rumble the house and tv should sound normal. With bass all the way up it doesn't sound good.

I bought this system to go with my new oled tv. I didn't want the whole surround sound system because of the space I had. This system with a sound bar and sub-woofer sounds fantastic. It's able to project surround sound with the great base sounds from the sub-woofer. It has plenty of inputs for my DVD and CO player plus more. I have a quite large surround system with another tv and this sounds just as good but not all the hassle with wires and speakers.

The 1 center speaker and bass speaker is all you need for unbelievable surround sound. I used to have 4 cables going into my TV, now with the Bose Console, I just have 1 HDMI. Very satisfied!
