Sound not good Bluetooth bad
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After reading the reviews about this item I thought it would make a nice gift, it didn't. Sound on the sound touch 30 III is very poor and has almost no bass and a lot of treble. The blend from what I've read is supposed to be full and crisp. Well crisp it is with no accents of the bass. Now for the blue tooth. The connectivity is aggravating as you have to hold the button on the unit each time you turn it on. It will not connect automatically and if you use the remote it appears to e turning the unit off instead of connecting. Do not purchase this it is way way over priced.

Great sound, but needs to be portable
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great sound throughout the house, but needs a battery. Taking it outside onto your deck, for example, requires the power cord.

Great sound with poor bass and bad app
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought bose soundtouch 30 and when I played some songs are really good with thumping bass. But when I played melodies, speaker added un necessary bass and spoiled the song originality. Sound is very good when you have volume below 50%. Once you pass 50% it is loud and not natural. The app is not at all good. It doesn't allow me to play music from my iphone library. I returned and purchase sonos play1 speaker to start of instead of spending $500. Sonos is way ahead than bose in wireless speakers. very detailed and clear sound. sonos app is excellent. When I played internet radio in bose soundtouch 30 voice was breaking and lot of disturbance, I thought its internet. But i compared with sonos. Listening to radio in sonos speaker is very pleasant to my year. Finallly SONOS is way ahead of BOSE in wireless speakers.

Have both systems, buy Sonos
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bose sound and quality, as far as manufacture, are as expected excellent. However, the wireless and connectivity between speakers has been extremely frustrating. Also, you cannot access iTunes directly over the Bose speakers because Bose does not let you add iTunes as a normal Music service. The only reason I can think of why this is the case, is that Bose is trying to save money. I am sure Apple charges a premium to be able to connect iTunes to a system like sound touch, or Sonos, but I think it is ridiculously short sighted on the part of Bose not to add it. It really limits its use with one of the most popular music services, iTunes. If most of your music is on iTunes, then definitely choose the Sonos, because whatever improvements Bose has made to the SoundTouch quality with their latest system, you will not be able to easily access your music library. You can connect iTunes through airplay, but that causes even more frustration. It is nearly impossible to use airplay with multiple speakers, without constant dropping out of a speaker, or the system simply refusing to work without a complete reset. It is likely that Bose has improved their system. I am using one of the older series, so my experience might be better with the new system. However, I purchased a Sonos system for my office at about the same time, because of my frustration with the SoundTouch system at home and the overall system runs much more smoothly, I never have to reboot, or have any struggle playing multiple speakers, which is just not the case with the Bose system. With the SoundTouch system I am constantly having to reboot, or unplug the speakers and reset them in order to get them to play throughout the house. Even when that works for a while, it will shut down periodically, or one room will drop out, etc. I am using a top line Asus router, on an extremely fast network connection at 5 GHz, that the SoundTouch uses almost exclusively, to try and keep things clean for its wireless connections, and things just simply don’t work well. Also, I believe the Sonos sound quality is just as good as the Bose and connectivity, or speakers dropping out, just never happens. I am in the process of replacing the five SoundTouch speakers I have throughout the house with Sonos.

Cannot get it setup
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So, I tried setup using two Android devices, a Windows PC via USB and WiFi, and an iOs device. I cannot even get the the screen where the WiFi is configured. I called Bose, they walked me through it ... finally told me to exchange the device. Drive 70 miles round trip (different store) only to have the second one behave the same way. Maybe it's just me ... but I'm a 20 year IT professional, and 4 devices and Bose support and the darn thing just doesn't work. Going to simply return it and get something else. Two defective from two different stores?

Sound is missing depth
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First it didn't come with the cable for the set up as instruction said. Had to go out and buy one. Tried to hook it up to my ps4. not compatible. Before you say RCA to headphone jack, I bought a wireless speaker and should be used as one. Figured it would sound good on my big bookshelf but electrical cord was to short. As for sound quality. Its missing the high ends of the sound. The bass is there but the snare drum or high hat in music sounds muffled. Does not have the dynamic sound of the old Bose products. Will be returning and makes me very leary on future Bose products.

This speaker did not last very long
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Speaker does not work after 3 months of having it, used it about 10 times no more than 1 hr each time. It does not get any power. I have tried calling BOSE multiple times and they still have not sent me shipping label for a repair. I was like the sound but the durability of the speaker is no good. I wouldn't buy it again.

Posted .Thank you for being a loyal Bose fan! It's always great to hear feedback from customers who own multiple products of ours.
Our instincts is that the SoundTouch 30 speaker you initially had may have been defective as it has significantly more bass than the 10 and 20 under normal circumstances.
We appreciate your patience with that and encourage you give us a ring if you hit any more road blocks with your expanding SoundTouch set up. You can reach us at 1-800-379-2073. We are open from Mon. – Fri., 9 AM – 9 PM and on Sat., 9 AM – 7 PM ET.

Bose support is terrible
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this speaker a couple of months ago. Bose sent out an update to the software and now the Bluetooth function does not work. I sent a request to the website and they told me they would get back to me in 72 hours. Three days later they sent me an email saying if I still have the problem to call them. I called and was put on hold for more than an hour at which time they hung up on me. When I called back I got the closed recording. They keep saying they are going to send out a fix but they don't know when. I will never again buy a Bose product as they are not capable of reasonable support.

Overpriced, Sound Doesn't Fill the Room
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm an avid Bose fan and money was not an object for this purchase. I needed something that my wife could use in the kitchen to stream audio, but mainly, I wanted something when I took our Epson LCD projector to various places outside, we could have some decent sound and minimal cords for outdoor movie parties for the kids. Reading the manual closer, it appears their app doesn't work with Windows 10 PC's to stream bluetooth music/movies, so you have to have a 3.5mm cord and place your laptop near to the speaker. Went and got my old Harmon Kardon HK395 computer speakers (2.1 with a sub) to compare, and outside, movies, my 20 year HK395's blew the Bose away, better separation, better bass, and I paid $30 for them. Sorry Bose, picking up another set of HK395's off ebay and I'll just put up with the extra cords on kid outdoor movie night.
