Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the SoundTrue™ Around-Ear Headphones' sound quality, comfort, and affordability. Many reviewers describe the sound quality as amazing, while others highlight the comfort of the headphones, especially during extended use. The headphones are also seen as a great value for the price. While there are a few concerns about the bass distorting at high levels and some issues with the cable and volume, these are not as widely reported as the positive aspects.

Love the color, quality & comfort of this item

I was looking for a comfortable, affordable, stylish, and nice quality headphones and I found THE ONE. This item was recommended by many different people and since I am in love with mint color, after trying it it was a no-brainer. I bought this about 6 months ago and I have been mostly wearing it at work, listening to music or during air-travel. The headphone is absolutely comfortable. I am so glad I didn't get on-the-ear as I sometimes wear glasses and I hate it when it starts to hurt. This over-the-ear headphone is so soft and does not hurt even after 4-5 hrs of use. The music quality is pretty good. I am not super picky nor an expert in music.. so as long as the sound is clear and crisp I am satisfied. This is not a noise-canceling, but it cancels out the noise pretty well. I am VERY happy with my purchase. I got the headphones during back-to-school sale, so it was about $50 cheaper than the normal price. I am very glad I picked this one up! :D

I got these to replace my on ear Bose. They don't fit and don't have a good seal. I can hear everything on the plane, and not much of the movie. I hope I can return them when I get back to the states next week.

    Terrific Headphones for the price

I'm not an audiophile, but I do love good (balanced, clear, unmuddled, correctly staged) music. I'm a work from home employee, and wear headphones the better part of the day. Though not a huge fan of Bose (low value for cost, typically not comparable to other headphones in the same price range, poorly designed acoustically, etc., etc.), I've got to be honest, these are THE most comfortable over-ear cans I've ever worn. Disclaimer... I do wear headphones anywhere from 4-12 hours/day, so I'm a bit biased toward comfort. In addition, at the $150-$200 price range, these cans are quite comparable both in sound and build quality to just about any that I've listened to. I highly recommend these for listeners who emphasize comfort, moderate accuracy (NO, these are not audiophile level headphones!), a nice wide soundstage, and a very nice tonal balance. These aren't the be-all end-all of over-ears, but these are pretty darn good for $180.

I was disappointed in these Bose headphones. I find the quality of sound poor. Tinny sounding. Lacks base. Does have clarity. Beats sounds better. My old Bose headphones were superior to this new model.

Great On-Ear Headphones for iPhone 6

I needed On-Ear headphones that would work with my iPhone 6 and would stay on my head while taking my daily walk. They do fit nicely on my head and they sound excellent as well. The earpieces however, are not noise canceling. For me that works best because I still want to be aware of my surroundings should something happen. The quality of your voice while making a call is crystal clear. They also come with a nice storage/carrying case for someone who travels or for just keeping them neatly stored away. I have been pleased with Bose products I have previously purchased and I have to say I am still satisfied with the Bose SoundTrue On-Ear Headphones as well.

Best Around the Ear Headphones under $200

Bose is the best when it comes to sound. The SoundTrue headphones deliver a premium sound and easily the best headphones under $200, far better than the higher priced beats. The headphones sit comfortably around the ear and are great for listening even for a very long time. In the last one year after spending around $300 on 3 headsets I finally purchased these. I am pretty sure I am going to be with Bose for a long time.

Its OK for 80+TAX, not for full price

I got it when it was 80+..overall just OK. .. I had negative experience when connecting to Yamaha receiver - the bass is horrible. If you connect to Phones, I Pad and Laptop its OK. BOSE comfort is big plus compared to other model ATH-M50x what I got at the same price in Amazon In short: If you want to use it for silent cinema features in receivers, then please stay away, all others can try if you get it below 100$

    Better than Beats!

I bought these headphones after a Beats Studio headphones purchase. The Beats were VERY expensive, had poor sound quality, were heavy, and too much of a hassle, so I found these Mint Bose SoundTrue (Open Box) at about 1/3 of the cost. Bose have great sound quality, are comfortable, and are overall just better than the headphones that everyone praises all the time, Beats! I hope this helps!

    Good headphones for the price

These headphones are are very clear with vocals and bring out parts of songs that I've never heard before. They are extremely comfortable and do very well with noise cancellation. If you are a bass head and wondering if these will satisfy you, take it from a fellow bass head, they do very well. They amplify lower end bass very well and it is mostly very tight. In fact, they amplify all bass very well. The only reason I took off one star is because I was kind of hoping for a bit more clarity in the sound.

    Ear cushions fall apart

The speakers work great; however, the ear cushions are not made well. The covering pulls apart from the speaker exposing the foam cushion. Bose makes replacement ear cushions for over $30 which is proof that people need to replace them. I would have thought for the price that these headphones were better quality.

I came to best buy with the purpose of just browsing the entire store and I came across several headphone brands, including Bose. I had a chance to test the sound quality of different headphone brands and Bose turned out to be the best! The sound quality is amazing. They are so comfortable to wear and they are light weight. They might be a bit pricey to some folks (including myself), but you know what, if you can purchase them, go for it! I'm really happy with these headphones. I got them in the color mint, but if I'm not mistaken they might have other colors.

Great all around value, very comfortable

These headphones have very well balanced sound with good clarity and bass. They're above average, but I've heard better. Specifically, they are a little underpowered and could use a bit more oomph. Of course, the better options are significantly more expensive, so I would say that the value you get for this price is fantastic. I exchanged a pair of Beats Solo HD's for these, the sound quality difference is like night and day. They're also extremely comfortable! They don't squeeze your ears and they rest comfortably, but they still feel secure. The included cord is nice and long, which is a nice touch compared to some other's I've had. Overall, I would say that these are great for someone who has varied musical tastes and want's above average sound quality without breaking the bank.

Bose Quality At A Decent Price

Bose hits another homerun with these headphones. They are super lightweight, have a built in mic on a detachable cable, and have supierior sound quality. The price tag isn't too bad seing as how the next step up are the QuietComfots. I have owned a set of QC-15 headphones and the sound quality is pretty much the same, minus the dact that these are not noise canceling. My only complaint is that these could be a bit louder. But with no pre-amp built in there is not much you can do about the peak volume.

    Design Flaw?

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I believe this particular model might have a design flaw or I've just had bad luck. I'm on my second set of headphones with the same issue. With a small amount of downward pressure on the cable the right ear loses signal, when plugging the cable back in you have to give it a good firm shove to get the right ear signal back. The weird thing is that you seem to have to push it in deeper than the point you think would be necessary. You cant just wait for the final click, you have to give it an extra shove. Not sure if anyone else has encountered this problem but after I had returned and repurchased I just assumed this was a design thing. I'm mostly going to be using these at my desk for voice over work so I don't think it will interfere with my use but if you wanted to use these in a more active environment it could become frustrating.
