If you've used Bose headphones you know how these sound, which is great. However ANY slight breeze caused a "wind tunnel" in my ears and made these worthless. I took them back after 3 uses because I could hear the wind EVERY single time it blew.

I have owned 3 pair of these in the last 8 months. They work great but don't seem to last long. Probably wouldn't recommend them to other people since they are ao expensive to only last a few months.

I wasn't overly impressed by the sound of these, especially for Bose and the price. Definitely not a very full sound.

I've bought Bose ear buds every Christmas for my step dtr for the last 5 years. Previous models held up pretty well. Generally they end up with the wires breaking at about 9 to 10 months. NOT this model, they began peeling at the "T", where the buds separate to each ear. I TRIED to exchange them YESTERDAY, 01/22/17... but I was told that I missed the return date on 01/15 by 1 week and BestBuy refused to take them back. I asked the manager on duty if BestBuy is REALLY willing to lose a customer forever over 7 days, his answer was, "Yes sir, absolutely". I then tried to take them to the Bose Store in the Brea mall. THEY told me that no, this should not be happening but that can not take them back either. He told me I have to mail it back to Bose. By the way, I have to pay all the postage. Do NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!

I have always loved Bose. I had 3 sets of this particular head phone, however this time the material seemed to be cheaper than I am use too. The ones before were soft almost like a very soft leather these just felt like plastic. I could not see spending the money I spent for plastic.

Runner's worst nightmare, stick to Bose MIE2i
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
If you have the older MIE2i DO NOT SWITCH TO THIS NEWER MODEL. This is coming from an amateur runner who had the older model, exchanged it, and now regrets it since the older model was discontinued.. Bose recently redesigned their ear tips for a "SoundTrue Ultra" experience. There is no active noise cancellation, but the new earbuds attempt to replicate this effect by diminishing other noises.
Pros:
1. As a commuter in NY, these are great for blocking small noises such as the sound of other people walking or talking either on the train or as you walk in the street. It creates a slightly more immersive experience and the sound is very clear.
2. The eartips fit snugly inside your ears. They rarely fall out even when exercising.
3. Cord is longer 48 inches vs I believe 45 inches for Bose MIE2i.
Cons
1. Maximum volume level with these headphones is lower than older models such as the Bose MIE2i. I definitely experienced this more when I plugged them into a Nintendo 3DS. When plugging them into my iPhone, it was a little less apparent but definitely noticeable if you're the type who likes to crank up the volume.
2. The earbuds create a stethoscope effect that is horrible. Bose you attempted to create a more immersive experience by changing your earbud design. I was a loyal customer of your Bose MIE2i product for 3 years and bought more than one model. I'm now thinking of switching to Jaybird X2s because these are quite frankly horrible for anyone who is a runner or exercises intensely. If you use these at the gym and others are lifting and dropping weights, the vibrations felt across the gym are amplified through these headphones. Due to the eartip design, the vibrations go straight into our ear canals and can be a nuisance.
3. In regards to the stethoscope which was mentioned in my second Con, it is horrible to run with these headphones and actually dropped my performance. Every time the cord of these headphones hits your body as you run, it is immediately picked up by your ears. It might not be as bad for someone who is simply walking or jogging slowly, but as your speed picks up, it becomes worse and worse. The music no longer drowns the annoying effect felt by the cord hitting your body, and instead it causes you to focus on the vibrations being felt in your ears. It's actually painful after a while.
Bottom line: I long debated between leaving Bose and picking up the Jaybird X2 due to the great reviews by trusted sources in the tech and fitness communities. I was a loyal Bose customer up until now. These headphones made me lose my confidence in Bose’s products. The Jaybird X2 may not have a microphone for calls, but at this point, it’s negligible due to the horrible experience I had with these headphones. IF YOU ARE A RUNNER OR SOMEONE WHO IS ACTIVE AT THE GYM, READ THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS. You'll see why these headphones are not meant for you.
