the best ear buds

Wow, these are fantastic. I've tried several brands around the $150 price range, including2 beats brands (earbuds) and the sound was terrible. Samsung default were always better but they broke and I was having a hard time finding a replacement. I tried these based on the recommendation of the best buy salesman and I'm so glad I did, bc he was right. The buds are soooo comfortable, they are very gummy so they fit right in the ear. I didn't understand the point of the wings but they actually help with reducing noise. Now the sound - incredible. It's almost as though they equalize themself. Rich mid-range sounds, great base when needed. Overall sound is vibrant and not washed out. Thank you Robert from East Hanover!

Always been a Beats fan but kept hearing about these Bose earphones so i finally decided to give them a try. From the first song i tested these earphones on to the very last, they sounded amazing! Very clear and crisp, not really for bassheads but the bass is good to balance out the tones making them very clear sounding. They are very comfortable almost forgetting they're in my ear. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 just because i just wish they were a bit louder since i use them for the gym and i really like to get into my zone but dont get me wrong they do produce a great amount of volume. I just really like to bump to my music but overall great product, keep it up Bose!

bought Bose week ago and this is my conclusion.
Actually I collect in ear headphones:-) have 9 of them, Sure,B&W, Klipsch, Sennheiser, Sony, Bose and some cheaper versions.
I agree with reviews, Bose sound is clear and crisp just amazing also agree they should be louder, I am 46 and don't go crazy with sound but still wish to have couple notches up.
I agree with comfort of headphones just great feel also agree and this is my big disappointment build, they really look and feel cheap, comparing to Sure or B&W they look like toy, I understand point of headphones are sound but for 160$ you should get better quality.... My Sure are 4 years old and still look solid.
In my personal opinion if Bose improve build quality and level of noise, this headphones will be far superior of any brand in price range, right now I think for 160$ you can have better pair than Bose....

So far, these are the only ear buds that fit in my ear comfortably. The sound is great. But I have to agree that they are not very loud. I also have to have my media sound all the way up when listening to music or audio books.

The Quality Sound I Expect From Bose!

I bought these about a month ago and have been very happy with them to date. Some reviews mentioned the sound from the wire slap, but I have not had an issue with this after many miles of running. I think maybe they did not clip the wires correctly. The sound is the Bose that I have come to expect! So far, a high quality set of ear buds!

Excellent headphones

Wow, the build quality for starters is yet another reason why I personally enjoy Bose over other headphones. The sound is truly amazing on this one. There are however three thing that I would like to see in the future:
1. Better looking and quality of carrying case, for $149.99 one would expect a hard shell case to carry it or something more upscale than what comes with it.
2. Add more Bass, it's a preference.
3. Have a universal headphone in which all functions of the headphones would work on both an Android and IPhone devices.

Better options for the price

I consider myself an audiophile and pretty versed/experienced on sound quality. (Been working in sound production and DJing for over a decade.) The sound quality is very pristine and clear, but I would only recommend these if you are looking for a flat EQ balance/profile. Vocals and mids are crystal clear. If you are looking for even a bit more bass in your headphones, there are better options for you. Lastly, I found by trying them on various devices that they will not turn up as loud as I would have liked. Probably around 75% of the time they would be loud enough for how I use them, but I want the option for them to be even louder for that 25% of the time I need them to be. If I'm doing yard work or something else with more background noise, I want the option to be able to drown it out more by turning them up louder than I would normally have them. (Like say when I'm just listening to music in the office at work.) I would recommend the Sony XBA H1, or the Jaybird X3 over these for these multiple reasons. (possibly even more reasons)

I needed to replace my earbuds. I previously owned Ultimate Ears and Etymotic. I had tried first generation Bose model when they came out a few years ago and was disappointed. Reviews in the SoundTrue were good so I took a chance. I am very happy with my purchase. They have crisp sound with solid bass. The fit is very comfortable, and stay in ear throughout a workout.

I purchased these to have for work. They are super comfortable, but the cord causes distracting noises and the price should be lower. $150 is too much of a price, but they really are the most comfortable earphones that I've ever had.

As expected, anything from Bose is just plain good. Got these and put them in my ears, bang comfortable and great sound. While you pay extra for Bose, they do not disappoint.

Not As Great As Past Models

I decided to purchase these headphones because they were new and got great reviews on CNET. The first thing I noticed about these headphones was that even though I cranked up the sound all the way I was no where near satisified. I was thinking to myself that is as loud as these go. Not worth it for the customers who like to feel the base and crank things up to another level during workouts. The noise cancelling works but if the music level only goes up to 75% of normal headphones then its not worth it.
I will be returning these.

Disappointed

I really thought this would be better than my previous Bose in ear headphones that my son snagged from me. The volume is limited and not as clear as my previous SoundTrue. What bothers me the most is I can hear my own breathing thru the earphones. Everytime I move and the wires brush against something I hear this rumbling noise. Plus the wires seem puny and not as sturdy. This is going back tomorrow and I'm getting the original SoundTrue again which is $20 cheaper than this one and way better. More expensive doesn't always equate to better quality.

I have had 3 pair of Bose IE2.... LOVED THEM. I had to replace a pair with the New Design Ultra. Completely Disappointed. I use them while I'm working so that means several hours a day. The new Designed ear piece blocks outside noise so it's almost impossible to use these while on the phone. I'm going to return them and get a different model, Sound Sport. Bose really needs to fix this issue. I love them just not the new design!

I was doing a bit of research into a lot of headphone brands before I made my purchase. I know that most of the better-quality headphones are over- the-ear, and usually not name brand like Bose or Beats. However I was really looking to pick up a pair of in-ear buds so that I could lie down and feel comfortable while listening to music or watching my shows. I was drawn to the Bose because of the design of the earbuds themselves- that is, they are not supposed to feel like they are jammed into your ear. Buying earbuds is difficult for me because I do not enjoy the pressure they put inside my ear. Unfortunately the Bose were not that different even with their StayTrue technology. In addition, the sound that came out from them was sub-par. I could only hear the vocals and no instruments were present at all. The sound was more like someone singing to you in person- it sounds good, but it doesn't come to life. It doesn't sound like real music due to an absence of diversity.
While the headphones themselves look really nice, there is a flaw in the cable as many people have noted. The T-splitter is awkward and feels flimsy. I would not want to have something that looks aesthetically pleasing but then breaks down in a few months or even weeks. I admit that the service at Best Buy has been pretty good in my experience, but still. I would want a huge company like Bose to make something that is meant to last a long while.
If you are at least semi-serious about your music, do yourself a huge favor and stay away from huge name brands. Especially if you listen to hip-hop, rock, heavy metal, etc.
I have already received my money back with no problems at all with Best Buy. But I will not be giving Bose another try.
