I love them. I have to start by noting that the usual type of earbuds do not fit in my ears, no matter which tips I try. These are bigger than the average earbud but they sit comfortably on my (small) ears and do not fall off if I run, dance or eat with them on. The sound is amazing - hard to believe they are not IN my ears. And I love the fact that I can hear everything around me. I have not had any problems with the sound “bleeding” to people sitting next to me. I have them paired to my iPad, iPhone and Mac computer (one at a time) - my only wish is that it were faster to switch which one they are paired with (they default to the last one). I also wish I could buy a second charger - not sold separately. Other than that I am very happy with them and highly recommend.

I'm only giving 3 stars because I feel they are too big for the inside of my ear and they hurt when I remove them. I hear perfectly there is no noise or squeaky sounds. I recommend you try them for the 15 day grace period to see if you feel comfortable . This is a gift that my son gave me for my birthday.

Nice looking headphones with decent sound. Could use more bass. I prefer my earbuds for music, these are nice for zoom meetings while keeping ears open so I can hear my kids kindergarten zoom too. Good for that specific need. Kinda pinch my ears if I wear them for too long tho.

Sound quality was good considering this is an open ear design. No charging case was a big negative and the ear peices are hard plastic with not give and very uncomfortable. And the final straw was the phone call quality, horrible, unusable, in the end... I returned them.

Hi! I'm pleased you love the sound quality of the Open Earbuds. They boast a Bluetooth range of 33 feet, so be sure to stay within this for the strongest connection to your device to ensure the clear quality of calls. It may be worth clearing the pairing of your earbuds and devices to clear any minor issues, but if they persist, reach out to support at https://bose.life/38Q1vZs so we can resolve things! The sound quality is amazingly great for a pair of headphones that allow so much other sound in. My big complaint was that they do not fill well with a pair of glasses. The way it wraps around your ear doesn't really leave much room for anything else.

Hi there, I am so glad that you love your new headphones. I am sorry that they do not fit well with your glasses. To get the best fit while wearing glasses, remove your glasses before putting on the earbuds. When the earbuds are stable and comfortable, put your glasses back on. Bought these earbuds to replace my older office earbud I used for working from home due to the bluetooth getting worse over time. Was very skeptic about these because of how small the speaker was and was worried they would be more like bone conduction which I didn't like. However I am pleased to say it's nothing like them. The quality of sound is really nice, provides simulated surround sound very well and the mic involved is also perfect to the point that the clients from my online work meeting are telling me i sound different and more realistic and less like i'm on a phone, if that makes sense. The only reasons I am giving this product 4/5 stars and not a 5/5 is because of the lack of noise cancelation from outside noise and voices. Everything in the background comes through the mic. I know, the headset wasn't designed with that in mind, but it's 1 flaw IMO.

PROS + Surprisingly good sound quality, with crisp detail and excellent vocal clarity + Sleek matte/glossy black aesthetics that wouldn’t look out of place when working out, or in a professional setting + On-ear design means you don’t need to worry about them falling out of your ear, or dealing with inner-ear discomfort + Leaving your ear canal open means you can better control the awareness of your surroundings + Rigid design makes them stable on your head, with little worry of them falling off or shifting during workouts + 8-hours of battery life and 3 hours of charge in 30 minutes + Voice assistant support with your phone’s native assistant + IPX-4 sweat and moisture resistance + Durable build quality + Sound leakage is largely minimized, even with the on-ear design CONS - Very small bass presence leaves something to be desired in the overall audio package - Rigid headphone design can potentially cause some discomfort with certain ear shapes - Charging is relegated to a separate dock with a non-removable cable, while the hard-shell case does not double as a charger - Switching between pairing multiple devices can be cumbersome - No dedicated volume controls on the headphones themselves - Connected Bose Music App is fairly bare-bones, with some usability quirks - While sound leakage is kept to a minimum, you can still get some noticeable leakage at high-volumes, in close proximity and/or quieter environments THE LONG AND SHORT OF IT I went back and forth with giving these earphones 3 or 4 stars, as I have come to like them quite a bit, but they have several quirks that I have had a hard time looking past. As a wireless headphone/earbud alternative, I think these lean more towards a 3-star rating, with mostly good sound quality and easy usability, but some missing some features I really have come to look for in wireless earphones. Its as a sport headphone where I think these begin to earn their 4-star rating, with great build quality, stability, good comfort, and a long-battery life that will together likely make these my go-to workout headphones for the time to come. Time will only tell how these hold up, but overall, I just hope with a future iteration of this product that Bose can work out the kinks with this first generation, which are holding it back from being a runaway winner. SOUND: In terms of sound quality these headphones are mostly good, and often great, as Bose really knows how to get great performance out of a small form factor. But even so, physics will always be present to make things difficult, and while they largely sound great with mids and highs, the on-ear design and small form factor means the low-end bass presence is lackluster, making these a less than stellar choice for people who need a good thump to get their workouts going. Like most open-ear or open-back headphones, these have an airy sound quality to them, which sounds good, but does feel like it lacks a bit of focus. I had no real complaints when listening to these, and even my rock and metal tracks were perfectly fun to listen to when working out, but for any sort of critical listening, these certainly have some room to grow. One area that is quite impressive in regard to audio performance however, is how well these manage to direct sound into your ear, without it leaking too heavily to those around you. Yes, you can certainly get sound leakage when you crank things way up, or are listening is a very quiet space and/or right next to someone else, but for most instances where I was working out distanced from someone else, or listening across the room, it was very difficult for anyone else to even hear that I was listening to anything. If you’re listening at volumes where you want to also be aware of your surroundings, you’ll likely have very little issues with audio leaking out. COMFORT: This area was a surprise for me, as I was expecting these to be quite uncomfortable with their rigid design, and to my shock, they really aren’t. That isn’t to say they are perfect, as the rigid design does still tend to put noticeable pressure on my larger ears over time, particularly when wearing glasses, but even so, these are still more than acceptable for me when moving a lot or listening over several hours. They don’t feel very secure since they wrap around and then rest on your ear (they don’t conform to it), but at the same time, I never had any issue with them falling off when working out. They also sit at a slight angle for me, which is different than the instructions show (largely due to my larger ear shape I think), which may lend itself to this looser feeling. Again, I want to stress that this has not given me any issues when biking or lifting weights, but depending on your ear/head shape, your mileage may be a bit different. These aren’t the most comfortable earphones I have used, but for what they are and how solid they are built, they certainly exceeded my comfort expectations. USABILITY: For Bluetooth headphones that are meant to compete with wireless earbuds, they are missing some key quality of life features, the biggest of which for me is the lack of a carrying case that can also charge the headphones. Yes, they come with a case, but it is a simple hard-shell case, with charging being relegated to a separate external dock. The dock itself is relatively compact, with the earphones attaching magnetically to the base for charging, but it doesn’t come with a removable cable, which means if the cable wears out or fractures, you will need to replace the whole dock. Since the case doesn’t charge the headphones, traveling with these means needing to pack the dock, which is far less convenient that just bringing the compact case. In a similar fashion, the associated Bose Music App is serviceable, but fairly bare-bones. It lets you do things like pair with devices, monitor battery life, update the headphones, look at tips for using the headphones, and other small comforts; but all-in-all, feels largely not needed. One of the issues I had was with adjusting the shortcut button on the left earphone (which is defaulted to read you the battery life when pressed, or use your phones voice assistant when long-pressed), namely that I couldn’t change the shortcut to anything else, no matter what I tried. I think a software update is simply needed, but for me at least, I couldn’t get this to change. Secondly, when trying to pair multiple devices, I ran into issues where I would need to completely remove the device from my phone, and then pair it with a second device, like my TV or computer. The app simply wouldn’t let me disconnect my device and pair a second one without completely forgetting the first one and needing to re-pair it later. Finally, there is no volume control on the headphones themselves, so you either have to use your Bluetooth source device to control the volume (like your phone) or use the voice assistant, neither of which are my preferred options when in the middle of an intense workout and I just want to quickly boost the volume on a song. This all being said, the headphones still offer a lot of comforts. You can answer calls, access the voice assistant, and you get a long battery life that should more than handle a full day of use. All-in-all, these headphones are very easy to get up and running and use overall. However, if your looking for much depth with functionality, I found these to be serviceable, but certainly in need of some software updates/tuning.

I just got these in the mail and messed around with the sound levels playing from the 5% to 100% range. Insanely surprised what they sound like when you have them at the lower to mid range volume levels. As mentioned in other reviews the bass doesn't carry well over the 60+% range, but in the 25-60% range the song I'm listening to sounds exactly the same as in-ear buds and allows me to hear someone talk or approach. If you're looking for something that you can crank up to 11 and have insane sound quality these aren't for you. But if you want great sound quality at a low to medium sound level and still be aware of your surroundings I couldn't think of a better product.

I was hoping I would like these, and have loved them! The sound is great with music and podcasts/radio. I appreciate having them outside my ear, not plugged into my ear. They need getting used to putting on, but I’ve got it down. I haven’t had a chance to try the talk option yet, but I’m sure it’ll be fine. They are very secure too. My only concern is that these don’t pop into a secure charger like the Apple ear buds. They magnetically sit on the charger. They have a tendency to be dropped as there’s no silicone IMO. Easy to set up too.

These headphones died the second time I ran in them. They are very uncomfortable. They do sound pretty good. After 60 mins of sweaty running, they have died and not came back to life. To add to the poor experience Bose has had them for 6 weeks and can not fix them. They will not have any more inventory for another 6 weeks. Bose also refuses to offer equivalent product for replacement. I used them 2 times, they died, sent to Bose, and that was 6-7 weeks ago. No headphones, no money, nothin...Bose sucks.

I love Bose. I have their Sound Wear (that goes around the neck) & love it! Beautiful sound & amazing bass. Since I can't stand anything inside my ears, I thot I'd give these buds a try for outdoors. Disappointingly, they're super uncomfortable, The plastic for around the ear is way too thick & hard as a rock, so if you wear glasses, don't bother. Horrible battery life, unless mine were indeed defective. For the short time I was able to get the battery working (& put in my contacts), the sound was pretty darn good. I HOPE BOSE PERFECTS THESE, to a soft, thin, & pliable plastic with some battery life, cuz I'd buy them in a heartbeat.

Reading the reviews at first made me worried about even looking at these earbuds but I'm glad I went directly to the store and got opinions and reviews from a Best Buy employee with my problem of very small ears. These are outstanding for people with small ears that all in the earbuds fall out, don't work or you can't hear! I saw negative reviews on the comfort of the bars around the ear and worried but for someone like me (senior citizen with small ears) they are perfect! I love being able to hear everything around me as I walk on busy streets but can still clearly hear music or phone calls. So glad I got them!
