I recently added the Bose Surround Speakers (120 W, wireless pair) to my Smart Soundbar 700 setup, and they’ve elevated my movie nights beautifully.
What I love:
Compact but powerful At just under 4″ tall, they blend discreetly behind seating yet deliver surprisingly enveloping rear sound to fill out the cinematic experience. Easy wireless setup Comes with two wireless receivers that link seamlessly to Bose soundbars; no messy cabling from front to back.
Wide compatibility Works with Bose Smart Soundbar 300/500/700/900, Smart Ultra, and SoundTouch 300. Ideal for expanding your system.
Points to consider:
Not the loudest Some users say they’re quieter than expected unless you re‑run calibration with a blanket trick for ADAPTiQ.
Sound quality is modest — These are satellite speakers; reviewers note they can sound a bit “anemic” or underwhelming compared to full home theater speakers
Power cable needed — Though wireless in audio, each speaker requires its own power outlet.
• Price vs. performance — At $399 MSRP, some buyers recommend exploring passive-speaker setups via AV receivers for more punch at a lower cost.
Ideal for:
• Users who want simple, clean wireless setup with a Bose soundbar.
Those prioritizing aesthetic cohesion and compact design over raw power.
• Bose ecosystems fans looking to complete a surround setup without running speaker wires.
My experience:
Pairing these with the Bass Module 700 gave significantly deeper immersion—movies now feel far more enveloping. Setup was painless through the Bose Music app, and the design matches my living space perfectly. However, don’t expect booming rear channels the surrounds enhance atmosphere but won’t rock the room on their own.
The Bose Surround Speakers are a smart addition if you want easy, stylish surround sound that integrates seamlessly with your Bose eco-system. They won’t match the brute force of a full 5.1 system, but for wireless elegance and improved immersion, they check the right boxes. Just reset calibration if they sound too subdued.

I’m really happy with this surround speakers. The sound quality is clear and immersive, and it creates a great surround effect while watching movies and listening to music. Setup was easy, and it works perfectly with my TV. Definitely worth the price. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good home audio experience.

My quest for immersive home theater audio led me straight to Best Buy, where I discovered the Bose Surround Speakers. Snagging them for just $278.36 felt like a steal, especially after experiencing the transformative impact they've had on my entertainment setup. Best Buy's wide selection and competitive pricing made the purchase a no-brainer, and the seamless shopping experience, both online and in-store, was a definite plus. These sleek, black speakers integrated effortlessly with my existing Bose soundbar, instantly elevating my living room into a true cinematic escape. The wireless connectivity simplified the setup process, eliminating the clutter of cables and allowing for flexible placement.
The sonic performance of these speakers is truly breathtaking. The clarity and detail they deliver are exceptional, bringing a new level of realism to my movies, music, and games. From the delicate whispers in a quiet scene to the earth-shattering rumble of a bass-heavy soundtrack, the Bose Surround Speakers reproduce every nuance with stunning accuracy. The 120 watts of power ensures a rich, full sound that fills the room without distortion. The surround sound effect is incredibly immersive, creating a three-dimensional soundscape that pulls you into the heart of the action. I've rediscovered my favorite films, experiencing them with a depth and dimension I never knew existed.
These Bose Surround Speakers have completely redefined my home entertainment experience. Whether I'm hosting a movie night with friends or simply relaxing with my favorite album, the added dimension of surround sound is a game-changer. The speakers are compact and stylish, blending seamlessly into my décor without being obtrusive. For anyone looking to upgrade their home theater without breaking the bank, and especially if you can find them at a price like I did at Best Buy, the Bose Surround Speakers are an absolute must-have. They're a worthwhile investment that delivers a premium audio experience that will leave you wanting more.

I have the Bose 500 soundbar and subwoofer in my office and love the sound. Now that I am working from home, I thought I would give the surround speakers a shot. I have Sonos and Sony surrounds in other rooms and this pair blew me away.
These really are small, I leave them on the credenza behind my desk and they are hardly noticeable. They come with a ton of speaker wire and a large brick for power, but luckily I can just hide all that under the credenza.
They were super easy to add to my setup through the Bose app and I had them going in minutes. They are an amazing addition to my office. I can hear voices better when I am watching the news or a Mets game and movies are on another level with these.
If you have the Bose soundbar and sub, these are a must!

I would wait for a sale or get these open box. These surrounds speakers do add extra life to an already great soundbar. However, its not an additional speaker like some of you buying may think. It adds background sounds otherwise you wouldnt hear. Its not making your soundbar system louder. It only works for 5.1 content really. I notice it mainly on netfilx and PS5. You will not be noticing this often while watching Youtube videos. It adds extra depth though for sure. At $399 its not worth it but for an open box price for sure i think is a great addition. Have to go on the Bose app and turn it up to 100.

I have now 3 Bose sound bars, all with Subs and surround speakers. I tried and had others, gave away or returned (like 990B).
I have (each setup), all are smart, as I use Alexa on all.
Bose 500 sound bar with 500 sub and surround (let’s say 500, due to Bose does not give these a number) speakers
Bose Smart 700 sound bar with 700 Sub and surround (let’s say 500, due to Bose does not give these a number) speakers
Bose smart 900 sound bar with 700 sub and 700 rear speakers
I like all the Bose rear speakers, the 700’s are just so small, I could not believe how small they are and sound as good as the much bigger surround (500) speakers, not that the surround (500) speakers are big in any way.
Do the 700 surround sound better than the other, I have to say no, definitely the same but tiny.
The 500 vs 700 bass module’s ….
I like the 700’s better, the 700’s have more bass, not that the 500 bass is bad, it’s just the 700 bass sounds better as expected as it is bigger.
The 500 vs 700 vs 900 sound bars…….
I use the 500 for our bedroom and the 500 sounds great with the 500 sub and surround speakers for the bedroom.
The 700 and 900 sound great and definitely better sound than the 500 ( but the 500 does sound great for a bedroom) (in my opinion).
I think Bose did such a great job on the 700 that I don’t hear much difference between the 700 and 900 sound bars. I love the glass tops of both and with the 700 sub’s and either surround speaker types, the 700 or 900 is stunning in sound quality.
I have played a bunch of movies with Atmos and both sound just about identical, that’s how good the 700 is even without Atmos.
I highly recommend Bose to all, you do get what you pay for.
Awesome sound, for surround effects, not for volum

Hi there, These speakers are extremely well built. These fit to my Bose Soundbar 900 flawlessly. To cut confusion here, these speakers are connected wirelessly to the SoundBar, however, they still need to be hard wired with their power/amp units, and those units (they are like our laptop power adapter units) are plugged into the wall adapters. Now for Sound, it's great sound which is achieved without hardwiring your soundbar to these speakers, clear the clutter, hence I do really love them. I got the OpenBox in dollars 100 less, which was a grab for me. These speakers add another dimensions to the music especially when you sit >25 feet distance from TV and SoundBar. I watched Tomorrow War and Transformers age of extinction and they sound phenomenal!! I can NOT ask for more, I am more that, definitely, more than satisfied. I am in my theater for sure. Now to note that, I don't use any kind of subwoofer to support bass, however, I am extremely satisfied. These little speakers can be turned off and can set volume level from the Bose Music App. You get them, try them, you will definitely love them! Give them some time and try different volume levels, Genres, 5.1, Dolby Atmos etc and set the volume level best to your suite, especially, when everybody sleeps at night, test when it's quiet! You will be amazed by these little speakers!!
Slightly bigger footprint than expected, but great

I am using these with a Soundbar 700 and Bass Module 700 and the sound is indistinguishable from wired systems I've used in the past. Setup was fairly easy with the iPhone app, but some assembly is required. The speakers are only sort-of wireless, in the sense that each has a unit that allows it connect to the soundbar and provides power. Each speaker needs an electric outlet, but the wires from the "receiver" unit (one for each speaker) that's in-line with the power cord are long and unobtrusive enough that placement isn't difficult.

I have these as surrounds on my soundbar. In the small bedroom these are in (10ft by 8ft) these are excellent! Clear, clean audio. If you are limited on space, these are the surrounds for you. Much better than most of the competition. Setup was easy. Turned it on, it paired, I went on with my life. Easy peasy!

Great pick-up. Works great with SoundTouch 300. Easy setup. Small enough to hide. Where I was able to place them, the “power brick” is hidden from view.
People have to remember that you will not always have surround sound coming from your system. It will depend on the output of the tv show or movie on whether or not you’ll get the surround sound. A lot of your older tv shows or movies are mono so there will be no surround sound. Just sound from the bar. I really like it. Works for me. Sound is best with music. I would recommend product.

I have the Bose 700 sound bar. It sounds terrific. Adding these rear speakers was the perfect complement. Like others have written, I feel like I am in a theater. They were very simple to add. Use the Bose app, it walks you right through it. It took me less than 10 minutes to get them out of the box and to listening to Jurassic Park. The app allows you to adjust the volume from the speakers and the sound bar. Since I live in a condo, I won’t be getting the bass box. This set up provides plenty.

I was pondering about these for at least 2 years before making the purchase.
Why ponder so long? Well couple of reasons - mixed reviews from folks where some were of the opinion that there is no sound and others saying that it is just awesome; and couple that with the price tag, then you can begin to ponder!
So, ok, bought it and have been using them for a good 6 months now after pairing them with my Bose SoundTouch 300, and we have been having an amazing time!
We have actually managed to watch a lot of sci-fi movies again, just to realize what we have bought and how good sound can be. These speakers added that extra dimension to the sound of a TV and have brought out the best.
There are serious moments when you feel that - "Hey where did that sound come from, or hey is there someone in the back!"
I'd say, when you get those kind of feelings or questions, then yes, you have got what you asked for!
These speakers are small, easily blend with the stuff you might have in your shelves and get tuned to the room environment using the Bose tech of ADAPTiQ audio calibration. They fill the room with excellent sound and can be tuned even further with the Bose SoundTouch App using your mobile / mac / pc.
Worth every penny if you want the surround sound experience at home!

I bought this Open box and they are perfect. No problems so far. I will say that a pair are good for a small to medium size room & you'll need more if the room is bigger. Connected easily to my Bose soundbar 600 (although I had to go online to find directions for how to connect the two). Also I had no problems with the volume of the speakers. They were just right for me. But I have also realized that the sound will depend on what's coming out of the TV.

I purchased the surround speakers to add to the Soundbar 500 and Bass Module 500 system I already had on the TV. They add a great new dimension to the sound that we never had before. Easy to assemble following the included instructions then just plug them in. Installation was easy. The Bose Music App finds them and makes the wireless connection to the rest of the system then use the App to adjust the volume to your preference.
My only disappointment was trying to figure out how to attach them to a free standing speaker stand. Either a Bose stand or a third party stand. Bose sells a free standing Universal speaker stand but the information they provide is not convincing enough to me that they will work with these speakers. Bose also sells wall mounts but I didn't want them on the walls. Since the speakers have no mounting holes or slots except to accommodate the Bose wall mounts, there is no visibly easy way to attach them to a stand. Right now they are sitting on end tables and sound great.

First, they sound great but are mostly for background audio or for a song that has put in surround effects. I didn’t know this at the time but your Tv has to have specific audio options for these to really work. But thankfully my tv broke & the new one had the specs.
Ps: A tip when you set them up and you’re doing the ADAPTIQ thing, put dish towels or hand towels over them. It will increase the overall sound output.
Machine Gunfire during movies tore down my wall !!

I have the Bose SoundTouch 300 soundbar and the Bose BM 500. While the system is already good, I still miss the surround sound of movies like bird chirping, flying bullets or those thrilling musical scores coming from the rear speakers of my previous HT which is a traditional 5.1 setup. Now that I got these bad boys, the Bose Wireless Surround Speakers, audio definition of my movies and TV shows are now awesomely satisfying.
The Bose Wireless Surround Speaker sounds crisps and brutal when watching surround encoded movies. It picks up the thrilling audio effects and amplify it more. Sounds clearer and more detailed compared to all 5.1 systems I've owned. Its easy to pair to the soundbar, but don't just stop there during the initial setup. Download and install the soundtouch app, in my case its installed in my laptop. The app allows me to control the loudness of the surround speakers. I set mine to 60 percent of the maximum volume. I can now hear sound effects that was so vague when played on my other 5.1 home theater.
