Affordable CarPlay for older vehicles

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This is a great purchase if you only want to add CarPlay to an older vehicle, which is what I bought it for. I can’t comment on the other features but it does have radio built in as well as Bluetooth receiver, and backup camera port (which I regrettably did not have installed). Comes with a 2 USB port dongle so you can charge a 2nd phone or device at 5 w. Only one usb works for CarPlay so I keep a lightning cable permanently attached to it. Best Buy did the installation and it came out perfect and they added all the correct installation parts for me. Total cost came out to $500 including the “Maestro brain” so my factory beeps and steering wheel controls for volume, etc. worked. Wish I had spent the extra $50 or so for the backup camera. Only strange issue I have is you need to wait about 15-20 seconds for the stereo to completely start up before plugging in your iPhone otherwise the screen goes blank. Replugging the phone fixes it every time but still annoying.

Best birthday gift ever

He can still use his volume button on his steering wheel and now he has Bluetooth, which he didn’t have before! He can connect his phone to his radio and he can do Bluetooth calling! He said it’s the best birthday gift ever! It even made his speakers louder!

Budget unit, but a good one

You won’t get many features, the touchscreen isn’t the most responsive, however I’m very happy with what it is. Setup was relatively easy, and apple car play works flawlessly. If your looking for a cheap head unit to replace your crappy old Jeep head unit, take a look into this one
