I setup these speakers in my home office mostly to listen to music. The sound is so impressive out of a relatively small set of speakers. Bowers and Wilkins always have such a great sound and the quality you get for the price is definitely worth it.

I bought $225 each speakers expecting that they would hold up. I was wrong. I have blown 3 of the five I purchased. They were last years model so hopefully these are better. I got the geek squad protection so two of them were repaired with a 5 week turn around time. One of them was junked out, because they scratched it, and the store replaced it with one of this years model. Let me tell you the wall mount on these is horrible. Last years model was great. Very easy to put up, and you could remove the speaker from the mount with the black cover on and a single set screw. The new model is designed for the mount to go directly over the hole in the wall where the wire comes out. If you have a socket with plugs on it that you then run a short wire from there to the speaker these will not work, as there is no access into the cover for the wire. Hopefully I will not have to get any others replaced because I really do not want this model and the horrendous mounting change. Sound quality is great. when they are not blown, they sound amazing. They just don't seem to handle quite the volume of music I was intending.

I had my doubts on these being so small. Like Bose...No highs...no lows.... However, I was pleasantly surprised using these on a second zone for music in a small room/office setting using a Yamaha RX-A4A. Incredibly crisp and clear sound even with some elevated volume. They are by no means an audiophile level speaker, however, they seem well built and to my ear better than your run-of-the mill entry r-series Klipsch or similar speaker. For the majority of people, they will enjoy these within a practical use environment such as TV/movie watching and casual music listening. A case could be definitely argued that these would make a fine 5.2 system in a small to medium sized home theater with say, a couple affordable JL Audio D110's... ;). I'd try it. =)

Excellent little surround speakers. Super quality and great sound. They totally match the sound of my three B&W front speakers (CDM7) and complete my 5.1 surround set up. I have tried other surround speakers (Bose and two different Klipsch) and they did not match the sound of my B&W front speakers. Something was just missing. These speakers solved the issue. Highly recommended.

These speakers are fantastic! I have a smaller room to watch television in. My home theater system works great with these sitting behind my couch. Unless your room is very large, I would just stick with these speakers. Bowers and Wilkins speakers are made exceptionally well.

We recently had indoor and outdoor speakers installed by Best Buy as part of our new sound system. We purchased these for indoor surround sound and they are amazing. Great sound and they are compact so they literally disappear when mounted or located on a bookshelf, yet they produce crisp clear sound. Great value!

I bought these as speakers for my desktop computer. I currently have them mounted on the wall (the swivel mount that it comes with is convenient, and allows for quite a variety of setup options).
I tried using these without a subwoofer for a while, but in my opinion they will not deliver the bass you'll need (even for me just listening to some music at my desk). I would highly recommend buying a subwoofer to compliment these, but at least you can buy these separate and decide for yourself if you want to add on a sub later.
For reference, I ended up buying the SVS SB-1000 subwoofer which seems to compliment the speakers nicely.

I had originally decided to go with some in-wall B&W speakers when replacing the tower speakers I was using as rears, but after an assessment of the wall situation in our 110-year-old house, decided to go with these little gems. Perhaps the sound isn't quite as "big" as it would have been with the in-walls, but they still sound amazing. (I almost wrote "for the size," but, no... Just "amazing." Full stop.)
I've been super impressed with everything about the build quality as well. From the clever speaker wire connections that keep everything neatly contained to the included bases and mounting brackets that make it easy to mount or stand the speakers in numerous configurations, B&W have thought through it all and built their designs with the highest quality materials and craftsmanship.

Amazing Speakers for a 15'x15' room

I included four of the Bowers & Wilkins 4" satellite speakers in a 5.1 setup together with a Bowers & Wilkins 700 series Center Channel speaker. Before my purchase, I did extensive research on the speakers. I also requested a demo at my local Best Buy Magnolia store. I am extremely satisfied with my purchase. While they are small in size compared to floor standing speakers, they worked perfectly in a 15' x 15' room. Their size also allow them to not be an eye sore, as I did not want to have huge speakers in a small room. If you have a similar size room, I definitely recommend these speakers. They provide more than enough sound to fill the room. On a side note, there have been several instances where my family and I have been fooled by the surround sound, thinking someone else was either knocking on the door or thinking someone else was in the room talking. If you're on the fence, go to a Best Buy Magnolia store to hear for yourself how good they really are.

I bought 5 of the Bowers & Wilkins M1 speakers for my surround sound system and am very pleased with them. I am using the sub woofer that I had with my old system. The sound that comes out of these small speakers is amazing. Where they really sound good is when playing music. You can hear sounds that you never heard before. They are good at a low or high volume. I mounted 4 speakers on my wall and turned one for the center speaker. I would highly recommend these speakers. You do need a sub woofer with them.

I love my beautiful, compact Bowers & Wilkins 4" 100W Satellite Speakers. I have always wanted a top-notch sound system that can do justice to classical music and opera. These Bowers and Wilkins speakers are especially helpful when I'm watching TV and need clarity of the dialogue, especially with British shows.

unless you need huge amounts of volume these speakers work well as your front mains and can more than handle rear or mid speaker duties with any home system. Crystal clear and realistic sound.

I love playing remastered CDs when I get the opportunity and these speakers do not disappoint. The clarity and openness of the sound is highly convincing for music and fine listening. It's crisp without being tinny and it has a sweet mid-range. You can hear clearly the placement of the instruments! the only issue is they are not quite as efficient (87db) and so require a slightly higher volume to really get that sweet smooth sound. I also play movies in a 3.1 setup and even then the openness of the sound places the effects throughout the room. Love this purchase! A nice investment into the entry-level B&W sound

These speakers are wonderful if space is a concern. Has descent bass for its size. Sweet mid range and smooth highs. Add a sub woofer and they will knock your socks off. Using them as my front speakers of my surround sound.

Overall very happy with the sound and the appearance. These speakers are VERY heavy so caution is needed if you plan to hang them on the wall of ceiling. These speakers are also very pricey; I down-rate the value due to high price.

Another great product from B&W. Purchased these speakers as rears for a 5.1 setup.. they do an awesome job. I tried them as front in 2 channel to see how they would sound and have to say they aound clear with a nice tight bass.. they are 100 watts per channel

These B&W speakers may be small but does not fall short at all with the amazing sound! Fills our whole house of 2500 sq ft if need be. The ability to have the option to rotate the speaker to show it in horizontal position, is a beautiful option. That's how I prefer it versus vertical. We paired this with a Yamaha receiver and works perfectly. It looks like these speakers can be used for a nice large tv and bring amazing sound. We use it for our receiver and record player in a room that is 35 feet x 25 ft but it should work very well in a very large room with ease.
