Sweet Sounding!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bowers & Wilkins (B&W) knocks the ball out of the park with these superb speakers. B&W is a quality product that gave me an awesome listening experience. I am an audiophile who takes great pleasure from my stereo equipment. These speakers have superb highs, deep lows, clear crisp mid-range sounds and delivered a room full of robust sounds. My speakers were coupled with the B&W 600 Series Anniversary Edition Center Channel Speaker and a Yamaha TSR-700 7.1 Channel Network AV Receiver. For informational purposes, I have a turntable which is 44 years old (a Marantz model 6320) and its coupled with a Shure V15 Type 3 cartridge and stylus. The manufacturer recommends that the user allow these speakers to stabilize over a weeks period with regards to temperature and 15 hours of usage so that the mechanical parts attain their intended design characteristics. From my initial unpacking, hookup and actual playing of these speakers I was totally blown away. I highly enjoy quality sounding music and I definitely got my monies worth with this set-up. Pure listening pleasure. The only assembly required is its speakers base, which fastens onto the bottom of the speakers via the 4 supplied screws. Power handling requirement of these speakers range from 30 to 200 Watts and they come with a 5 year warranty which is a very generous amount of time. My Yamaha TSR-700 power output is 100 RMS and its more than enough power to adequately drive these speakers with plenty to spare. I listened to a wide variety of music through these speakers and all genres sounded awesome. I have to admit that the B&W Center Channel speaker mentioned above (in paragraph 1) is a must for these floor standing speakers. They complement each other, are an absolutely great match and produce amazing sound. B&W has a hit on its hand. Great design, superb output and concert hall acoustics is what you get! Truly an outstanding product which I believe that you will love too.

Great Sounding Speakers
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Note: I tested these in conjunction with the matching center channel. I’ve been listening to these floor standing speakers for about 2 weeks now and can honestly say these are amazing speakers. I’ve enjoyed every moment of owning them. Design: The design of these speakers are really beautiful. I love the color of the drivers. The boxes are very sturdy and well-built, but also very heavy. I really liked that the speakers included a pedestal and spikes for sound isolation. Ease of use: the speakers were relatively easy to set up: attach the pedestals using nuts and bolts, add the sound isolation spikes, and wire them like one would wire other speakers. They offer both a traditional connection method or one can use banana clips (my preference). My only complaint is that the covers for the banana clips were not easy to get out. (Tip: use a paper clip and push from the inside of the post.) So, how do they sound? Music: Music sounds great on these. I listened to a number of styles to really put these through the paces. When listening to hip hop, I was very pleasantly surprised with the low end on these. All the notes were coming through clearly and accurately. What was most impressive to me about these speakers was the soundstage it produced. I was listening to a singer-songwriter perform, just him and his guitar, and it truly sounded like this guy was in the room with me. Video: Video also sounds great on these. To test these out, I watched an action movie. The sound effects came through clearly and I really appreciated the depth of sound that the speakers created created. Having a center channel, I thought dialogue sounds great, but I am unsure whether that would be the case if you were just running them in stereo. Overall, i’d say these are amazing speakers.
