After only owning these for 24 hours I've decided to dump my girlfriend of 5 years as these are the only things I need anymore in my life. The sound reproduction is off the charts. Bowers and Wilkins really put a lot of effort into the tweeter design as the high's really shine. The Continuum driver is a massive upgrade over the CM series Kevlar driver. Can't tell you how much of a difference they sound in the home than at the store.

I first heard these speakers in the Magnolia section of Best Buy and couldn’t believe the clarity. Until I looked at the price. Not cheap but I was looking for the best sound I could afford and these were a once I a lifetime splurge. I worried about how’d they sound outside of the studio in a house with high ceilings. I needn’t have worried. Once I got them set up and put played music from my phone I was even more impressed. I didn’t care for the white or gloss black when i found they also cane in a rose wood, that’s what I ordered and they are gorgeous! To say I’m happy with them is an understatement. Each time I listen I’m amazed at how distinct each instrument sounds.

Having listened to many high end audio systems - these are cutting edge at this price point. The isolated tweeters hit the highest highs, bringing voices to life, and with perfect clarity. Remastered live tracks of Stevie Nicks Rhiannon will have the white witch and these B&Ws give you goosebumps! The Who’s - Who Are You and Tool’s The Pot are dynamic tracks that will bring these speakers to life! At 65lbs each these things are not light - or easy on the wallet - however the superior construction of these and technology that’s been standard of B&W will give you many many years of enjoyment and are totally worth the money. A solid amplifier is crucial - these things are power hungry - especially near reference volume and you’ll need to feed them. I’m pushing mine a Rotel 1585 5ch amp - 200W RMS per channel. Bi-wired with 10ga wire ensuring the lows aren’t being robbed of the power from the three dedicated woofers that will fill your mids and lows. I have called B&W for some customer support, and I can’t say enough good things about them. No long holds, quick accurate information, and email follow up to ensure everything was in order. If you get these from Best Buy - be sure you’re dealing with a Magnolia rep, or in home advisor who actually knows something about the products and equipment you’ll need to push them.

Best speakers I've EVER had. Not only do they drive pumping out 300 peak watts but they also have such crystal clarity sound. No question the best speakers on the market until you hit the 10K+ dollar mark.

These are the most precise and dynamic speakers you could possibly own at this price point. The closest you'll ever get to reference quality sound without spending at least double. They do like to be 'driven' to bring them alive so, I highly recommend driving them via a high current power amp. If you understand Sonics then you'll really appreciate the clean, tonal bass that these beauties pump out. Bowers & Wilkins knocked it out of the ballpark 10 times over with these...simply awesome!

I have spent a lot of time around high end audio equipment. I have always loved the sound from B&W. I used to have a 685 surround sound system. When I moved I did not have a back wall or a place to put the surround sound in. So it was time to upgrade from bookshelves to a solid floor standing speaker. I decided to go with a 2.2 system. Two 702s2's and 2 ASW610's. When watching movies I can shake the whole house. But it isn't about loud its about the quality of the sound. You can hear every little thing, there is no distortion. For the money there is nothing else even close. The 703 with the tweeter inside the body is a massive difference in sound quality. There are only two speakers in the 700 line worth thinking about the 702's and the 705's once you hear then you will not consider the others. I was tempted to step up to the 800 series but value for $ the 702's imho are the best purchase in the entire B&W offering. Music which is what i mostly use them for is incredible. I love going back and listening to all my old favorites and hearing things i never heard before. The sound of the strings being played. The sound of someone sliding their fingers up the strings. Every little detail is there in full quality. If you close your eyes you would think the musicians playing right their in your living room. I highly recommend these speakers you will absolutely love them.

First, some practical advice. Use a van or SUV type vehicle to bring them home and have someone help you carry them. You can do it by yourself in a convertible but it's a YouTube waiting to happen.. The most striking aspect is the separation of pitch and clarity of upper from lower ranges. The separate tweeter on top actually makes an enormous difference. It sounds like someone is speaking to you in the room as opposed to coming from a speaker. Second, the overtones that are present in real orchestral music actually come out. The cello doesn't sound tinny and the French horns create the type of color that you hear in a good concert hall. Brass music especially sounds amazing. I have a subscription to the Berlin Philharmonic on Apple TV and these speakers make the entire experience. Their a little pricey but in my opinion they are a treat very worth the cost. No regrets.

I have been a long time admirer of B&W audio systems, but finally bit the bullet and started my home theatre. I can say without a doubt, no matter the money I paid I am satisfied. These speakers are amazing! They have have amazing clarity no matter your listening level. So much so some people who visit my home and hear my sound system think some of the sounds coming from the speakers are really in the same room as them. I would highly recommend for any audiophile!

I bought these 702 S2's to replace a pair of CM 6 B&Ws I've had for about 5 years that were bought used. The 702s are remarkably clear with no distortion. I'm driving them with a Marantz 6011 in a den set up for 7.2.1 Atmos surround consisting mostly of other B&W speakers. The Marantz has no issues driving the room even with these new speakers in the mix. I performed the Audyssey calibration for the system during installation. A lot of my audio is sourced from an LG OLED C9 4K set using Spotify to the Marantz in stereo playback or programs from Hulu or Netflix. I also play SACDs from an Oppo 4K disc player thru the Marantz. In all scenarios these speakers are extraordinary. Clean sound that makes you think you're in the recording studio, Very solid construction with clean corners on the rosenut veneer. Each speaker comes with a gloss black plinth and spikes for carpet floors or urethane pads for resilient flooring - be sure to use them for best results and for stability. These speakers are an investment, but they really sound great.

I can't say how thrilled I am with the B&W 702-S2 speakers. You really can't tell how good they are in the store. Once you get them home and fed by some high end electronics in a normal room you can get the great imaging and detail that they are capable of producing. The new continuum cone midrange is more detailed and quicker than the previous Kevlar midrange in B&W's earlier models. It was well worth the difference in price between the 702 & the 703 to get the 702. Even though some of the drivers are the same, the additional 6.5" bass speaker, separate housed tweeter and larger cabinet give a better midrange and bass and a more seamless presentation. Although I am using them as L/R Fronts in my surround sound system, I often listen to them by themselves in stereo mode because they are that good. At this price you won't find a better speaker. Very happy with this purchase.

I owned CM 9’s speakers by B&W and enjoyed them very much for several years but I thought it was time for a upgrade. And the 702 S2 are a great upgrade. The sound is fuller, instruments are much more distinctive. The separation and voices are on point. Like with any good speaker you have to have good power and they are power hungry. So pair them with a good amp and power cords not the ones that come with your equipment. Worth the money? Yes.

After researching these speakers near to death, I had concerns about these speakers as reviews of their cousins showed a frequency response curve that was not linear. In the audiophile world a linear response curve is the “holy grail”. Speakers that lean forward from a “neutral” sound are considered by many an audiophile have a defect of sorts and to cause “listener fatigue”. These speakers are a bit forward, but that seems to be just part of the B & W design and is seen on the 800 series as well. It seems to be a bit of a British thing. The bottom line is that while measurements are useful, ultimately it comes down to the type of music you listen to and how a set of speakers sounds to you. By the way some of the peaks can be tamed with room correction software (e.g Audyssey), although many a audiophile might consider this a sin as well. I had some initial doubts about changing out my Paradigms Mellenia 300s (not the best Paradigm has to offer to be sure) for these Speakers. Is there really going to be a difference when I take them home and listen to them in a realistic imperfect acoustical environment? The answer is yes! The difference is remarkable! It’s rather like discovering music all over again. I am hearing new sounds and the imaging is stellar. After hours of listening, I find the phenomena of “listener fatigue” to be nonexistent. These are just really nice sounding speakers!

I did not know what I was missing until I replaced my Polk towers with the B&W 702s. Great definition. Warm midrange; pairs well with B&W Center speaker. Definitely not heavy at the low end but paired with good subwoofers works well for Home Theater and Audio alone. They look great, although I wish they had a flat black finish.
